A photo of former Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake attending Super Bowl LVII has gone viral, but for reasons you might not expect.
The former news anchor turned GOP firebrand was seen sitting during the controversial playing of the Black national anthem ahead of the game, which took place Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. A photo of her refusing to stand for the anthem was posted on social media and quickly sparked a frenzy of people praising her decision.

People do not have to stand, wear a mask, stay home, drive an EV, or eat bugs. The left cannot stand it.

Not appropriate at the Super Bowl. At an NAACP meeting perhaps.
In the USA there is but one National Anthem.

I refused to stand at an event my daughter participated in at UNC back in early 2000. My niece tried to force me to stand, and I gave her a look similar to Kari's. That look says, don't play with me. I really like this beautiful woman.

What’s worse, lefties, sitting through it or playing on your phone for the duration?
No way would I stand. It’s racist and it’s phony. There is only one National Anthem and that isn’t it.

I will say that the song, which was not introduced as a "Black National Anthem," is an uplifting song and its verses do call us to better our lives, white, black, brown, red, or whatever.
But since it is not a national anthem of the USA or any other country, there is no requirement, real or for polite company, for anyone to stand for the song. I'd be sitting down as well.

The NFL did not ID this as music as a national anthem of any color. And it was appropriate that she stood for the national anthem of the USA

ONE NATION, UNDER GOD...not one Black and one for everyone else. So...ONE National Anthem. What Lake does during someone else's hymn is up to her.

It's not an Anthem, more of a prayer set to music, at NASCAR and Rodeos, and the sports events that still do it I stand(and remove my hat) for the convocation, and the national anthem...in Texas for the State Anthem. At a restaurant or such, I stand when my Mother, my date, or the mother/date of someone I'm with, as they arrive or depart. Not for any/every random woman that happens by.

The folks around her were phony hypocrites as they were doing anything but attentively listening to it.
Kari was right to remain sitting, Do we stand when Lee Greenwood’s song is sung?
Do we stand when any other song is sung? Thought not…

To Lake and many others, Lift Every Voice is just another song. There is no reason to stand up unless you believe in and support racial segregation. What's next? An Hispanic national anthem, Asian national anthem, White national anthem? One would think that Civil Rights activists would be against separate national anthems being played as they favor on race over another. Is the NFL supporting Black racism or Black supremacy by playing the "Black" national anthem (if you want to take things to an extreme)?

Why should she? Most of us did not know what that was all about. No, we have only one anthem over here. Blacks don't like it, hey it's only a one-way ticket away and you can listen to your anthem over there. Come to think of it, they did not have one.

I stand when they play the National Anthem (with my hand over my heart).
I stand for the reciting of the pledge of allegiance.
I stand when someone leads a prayer.
But I do not stand for a not-very-good song that some racist people call "The Black National Anthem". We only have one nation anthem in this country that does not see color or race!!!!!
God I pray that Kari Lake is the next Senator from the great state of Arizona!!!!! I also remember why I can't stand the "woke" NFL and haven't watched a game in 5 years. After being a huge fan for probably 50+ years, I don't miss it at all!!!!

No reason for anyone ro stand for that song.

Kari is so right. The song, based on a poem originally performed in honor of Abraham Lincoln’s birthday on February 12, 1900, and later set to music five years later by the poet's brother, John Rosamond. I'd like to think I'd have taken a knee, even if 4 strong men would be needed to stand me back up.

She did not stand SO WHAT!?! Tell BLM and the rest of the liberal left radical black apologists to shove it where the sun doesn't shine. The half time "entertainment" at the Super Bowl I saw thought it was just great to grab and rub her crotch on national TV so what does that say about the state of our society?

A. Kari Lake is not black.
B. Black national anthem (formerly Negro National Anthem, from a poem written by James Weldon Johnson, in 1900; celebrating the God-wrought freedom of people oppressed by slavery) is a nice song, (https://hymnary.org/text/lift_every_voice_and_sing) but it does not have the universal appeal of the Francis Scott Keyes National Anthem. I encourage everyone to read the full versions of both songs. (https://amhistory.si.edu/starspangledbanner/the-lyrics.aspx)
C. #18 -The NFL has NOT been taken over by "the Black culture" whatever that is. The Super Bowl half time acts are chosen by the league, the hosting city, or by a contract with a talent agency. Remember when it was hosted in Detroit? A white group was the headliner and not one black Motown recording artist was chosen. The ensuing outcry forced them to make a minor change. Here is a list of all the Super Bowl performers since 1967. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/every-super-bowl-halftime-performer-rihanna-eminem-dr-dre-snoop-dogg-lady-gaga-prince-and-more/ . Judge for yourself whether or not 'black culture' is taking it over.
Side note: after the Janet Jackson fake wardrobe malfunction; it seems each single artist half-time show gets a little more vulgar or raunchy; pushing the envelope so far, it is unwatchable - especially for kids. :-(

It is very sad. Every thing Martin Luther King Jr. tried to achieve is being torn down little by little. He was a man of class, dignity, and peace. I actually think what the NFL did Superbowl Sunday disrespected the black community mostly with the performance by Rihanna. That truly was an insult to class, dignity, and peace. . .

Kari Lake is EVERYTHING the woke, racist, arrogant, pinheaded left hates with a White-hot passion. Brave, bold, articulate, passionate and dare I say very pretty. She also has experience in dealing with the fake news democrat propaganda media and knows their play book. Kari makes loser RINO "men" like Turtle McConnell, Milquetoast Mittens, Mini Mike Dicky Pence look small. I'm glad that she didn't stand for the racist pandering by that gutless coward Roger Goodell and CO. For me there's only one Anthem and I'll proudly stand with my hand over my heart to hear it every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Where does it say that everyone has to stand up for that song? Anyone can write a song and claim that it is related to some political or social issue and that everyone should stand when the song is performed.
