A community in Atlanta has decided to separate from the city and create its own police force. Bill White, the Buckhead City Committee CEO, said the decision comes as crime in Atlanta has skyrocketed and police are not being properly funded.
White told Bill Hemmer on "America's Newsroom" that he estimates nearly 80 percent of his community will vote in favor of the separation.
"We have two bills in the Georgia legislature dropping in January to decide this referendum ballot," White said.
"We filed our divorce papers at the city of Atlanta, and our divorce is final."
White said Atlanta Mayor Keisha Bottoms’ policies have emboldened criminals

That’s a very high end area. They’re going to have to build a wall around it to keep the looters and thugs out.

This is the future of the US - pockets of conservative enclaves surrounded by rot. Pray for those in the rot who stumble into the enclaves. They'll probably never be heard from again.
Don't think it can happen? How are the Amish doing these days? How did the state of Utah come about?

Xin Loi, as we used to say in Vietnam but it seems that people only take notice of social injustices when it affects them personally, especially the wealthy ones.

Split the country. Coastal socialist cities should be kicked out of the US. They can become independent city-states.

City governments are not there to protect citizens. They are there to tax everyone they can as much as they can get by with to blow money on things that make them feel like big shots.

There must be a way to leave the city and become a county or something. What will be devastating for Atlanta, the loss of revenue. So be it. Another way is to run the mayor out of town and elect someone that will clean up this mess.

Lived in Atlanta in the 70’s, it was exciting and full of promise Over the years I have watched its decline and have said Atlanta will be the next Detroit; a shameful and disastrous fall from Grace. It’s happening as we speak!

Not once in the article was the real problem named - BLACK. To further antagonize the ferals that have gone nuts with violent crime, this CEO's name is WHITE. We are soon going to be hearing about the white privilege of a rich community that is willing to pay a police force to do its job. A cheaper and more effective solution would be to eject Keisha Bottoms from Atlanta and bring in a real mayor, or start using 2nd Amendment rights.

I have taken the tour of Buckhead and it is a beautiful place. But, on the other side, during my years of travelling around the US, Atlanta is perhaps the only city where I really did not feel safe.

Buckhead City is fast becoming Buckethead City it's hopeless to think in the terms of separation that's so 'white supremist' along with 'racist'. See how all that was meant to work?

Grew up in the Atlanta area. Know Buckhead, well. Lots of rich Dems in this area. They voted in Dems and now don’t want the consequences. They have the resources to separate themselves from their consequences. With all their money, you would think they are smart enough to realize how they got there! Well, duh on them.

Who'd you vote for? That is now my line to all of my "progressive" friends in NYC. I don't want to hear about your pain. Elections have consequences, now quit bellyaching and live with your progressive, woke policies.

But, still six months away, he says there will be bills in the legislature next January. But, they say they'll have their own courts, their own judges, and that may well give the criminals pause for doing crimes in that new city.
Clearly criminals see that they won't be bothered by the "legal system" in Altanta.
