Remember Anthony Weiner, the former congressman now best known for a series of sexting scandals that gave the New York Post nearly a decade of punny headlines? Weiner updates still pop up from time to time, though as of last year the disgraced politician had reportedly begun a new, quiet life as the CEO of a company that makes countertops out of broken glass, news the Post shared under the inevitable headline, “Anthony Weiner piecing together shattered life as CEO of broken glass factory.”

The old pervert has nothing to lose anymore. He clearly doesn't care about his reputation. So he might as well have his perverted fun. He is a Demon-Rat after all, so there will be no long-term consequences to anything he does. When you are the party that totally lacks any morals or ethics, and who wallows in pure evil all of the time, what Weiner did was pretty tame!!!

"Carlos Danger" resorting back to his perverted past. From an article dated April, 2019: "After sending a lewd picture of himself to a college student in 2011, Weiner claimed his account had been hacked, then admitted online interactions with at least six other women while married to top Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin."

Of Course Eric Clapton Thinks Vaccine Information Is “Propaganda” 8 replies

This should come as no surprise to anyone who’s been following Eric Clapton’s public statements about the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdowns meant to curb the spread of the virus, but it turns out the anti-mask musician is also a vaccine skeptic. In a letter to Italian architect/anti-lockdown activist Robin Monotti Graziadei (who shared the letter on his Telegram with Clapton’s permission), the guitarist described the “disastrous” side effects he suffered after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine and called the public health information about the jab “propaganda.”

Following Major League Baseball’s decision to pull the All-Star Game out of Atlanta due to Georgia’s new voting law, Republicans are now out on MLB. MLB’s net favorability rating among Republicans was 47% in the middle of March, the highest rating amongst the four major U.S. sports leagues. Since then, it has crashed to 12%, dropping the league below the NFL (15%) and NHL (26%), according to new data from Morning Consult.CORRECTION*
In the Reckoning Over Cultural Appropriation, Should Indian Motorcycle Change Its Name? 17 replies

In December, the Cleveland Indians announced they are in the process of changing to a “non-Native American based name” from the one the MLB team has held since 1915. Earlier this month, the Cherokee Nation for the first time asked Jeep to stop using the tribe’s name on its vehicles, a practice that goes back to 1974. But what about the motorcycle company that predates both of those cases?

What's So Great About Indian Creek Island, Anyway? 4 replies

Miami’s North Beach is not exactly where the action is. Compared to the luxurious party hub of South Beach, it’s a fairly drab neighborhood with stucco housing, diners and condos lining the shore. But it has an overlooked gem tucked into its western edge, and that’s a .4-square-mile, 41-lot private island called Indian Creek. Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump recently bought a 1.8-acre lot for $30m on Indian Creek Island, which is considered Miami’s most ultra-exclusive address (the plot was originally purchased by Latin singer Julio Iglesias, who lives on the island, through Jills Zeder real estate).

It was a terrible day in American history. And also a bad day to “stick to sports.” The horrifying images at the nation’s Capitol on Wednesday — during what should have been a peaceful counting of electoral votes — was well-covered by the news media, which had been expecting a raucous 24 hours (both inside and outside the government chambers). It also pulled in a lot of media that’s been carefully trying to toe the line between acknowledging the real world and reporting on non-“newsy” subjects. Which is pretty impossible when you have domestic terrorist cosplayers pushing aside security and invading the offices of elected officials without fear of arrest.

Under different circumstances, it’s not hard to see how the idea of Van Morrison and Eric Clapton teaming up for a new song might be appealing. One of them is among rock’s most acclaimed vocalists and songwriters; the other is a guitarist lauded for his skill and style for decades. That their collaboration would come on a song addressing the present moment opens up a world of possibilities: could they, perhaps, be working on a song in support of first responders or communities whose health is at risk from the pandemic?

Generational shifts almost always wreak havoc on accepted pop-culture wisdom. As one cohort ages out of a particular scene — be it music, movies, fashion or design — a new group rushes into to fill the gap, bringing with them their own ideas about what’s cool, what’s not and most importantly, where you should turn your attention next.

Election Week 2020 brought us an abundance of memes, viral videos and internet jokes, but amid all those John King fan cams and riffs on Nevada’s glacial-pace vote counting, the nation turned its attention, once again, to the city of Philadelphia. When it became apparent that Philly and its surrounding suburbs would help propel Joe Biden to the White House, the internet suddenly stopped ridiculing the City of Brotherly Love and instead began to appreciate the beauty buried somewhere within.

This should be prompting Republican-led legislatures to begin doing election audits immediately and passing voter integrity laws.
