Of Course Eric Clapton Thinks Vaccine Information Is “Propaganda”

This should come as no surprise to anyone who’s been following Eric Clapton’s public statements about the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdowns meant to curb the spread of the virus, but it turns out the anti-mask musician is also a vaccine skeptic. In a letter to Italian architect/anti-lockdown activist Robin Monotti Graziadei (who shared the letter on his Telegram with Clapton’s permission), the guitarist described the “disastrous” side effects he suffered after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine and called the public health information about the jab “propaganda.”

Yes, he and Van Morrison are both on the same page. Van Morrison wrote an anti-lockdown, pro-freedom song for him. You can hear it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMkV4vYr_ik

I fear the long term effects of this "vaccine" more than I fear this virus. This "vaccine" is made with a never before successfully used technology, so we have absolutely no idea of the long term effects of this technology. In my county of over 600K people, there are about 46,000 between ages 70 and 80. In that age group, 2,300 are officially reported to have gotten this virus. Probably two or three times that many actually got it, but just didn't bother reporting it. Of those 46,000 people in my age range, 152 are reported to have died of this virus. Even if you believe that all these deaths are actually directly due to Wuhan virus (and I do not), that is 152 deaths out of a population of 46,000 in that 70 to 80 age group. This means that the death rate of age 70-80 people in my county is 3/10ths of 1%. This is about the same as the regular annual flu, perhaps a bit higher than the typical year. I suspect that this data is exaggerated, too, with many deaths primarily due to other age-related causes, compounded by Wuhan virus in an already sick or dying individual. I lost a friend to cancer this year....I wonder if they included him in their stats as a Wuhan death? He didn't have it, but that doesn't seem to matter in their reporting systems these days when we see motorcycle accident deaths listed as "COVID".

Clapton is anti-vax after having had his two “jabs” and suffered serious after effects. Stiernberg unequivocally states the vaccines are safe. Her qualifications: Bonnie Stiernberg is a senior editor at InsideHook. She is formerly Paste's music editor, and her work has appeared in Billboard, Rolling Stone, Glamour, GRAMMY.com, Vice and more. When she's not working, she enjoys being tortured by her beloved Chicago Cubs. WTH is “Inside Hook”?

Here is how far the medical expert Stiernberg went with her mindless scribbling: Of course, it’s worth reiterating that the vaccine is safe and research suggests that people who have previously had COVID-19 are more likely to have a strong reaction or worse side effects to their first dose than people who haven’t had it. And as the New York Times points out, “A strong reaction to your first dose of vaccine also might be a sign that you were previously infected, even if you weren’t aware of it.” Given his very public aversion to mask-wearing, it doesn’t seem like too much of a stretch to think that Clapton may have previously caught COVID-19 at some point, which would explain his strong side effects.

Following Major League Baseball’s decision to pull the All-Star Game out of Atlanta due to Georgia’s new voting law, Republicans are now out on MLB. MLB’s net favorability rating among Republicans was 47% in the middle of March, the highest rating amongst the four major U.S. sports leagues. Since then, it has crashed to 12%, dropping the league below the NFL (15%) and NHL (26%), according to new data from Morning Consult.CORRECTION*

In December, the Cleveland Indians announced they are in the process of changing to a “non-Native American based name” from the one the MLB team has held since 1915. Earlier this month, the Cherokee Nation for the first time asked Jeep to stop using the tribe’s name on its vehicles, a practice that goes back to 1974. But what about the motorcycle company that predates both of those cases?

Miami’s North Beach is not exactly where the action is. Compared to the luxurious party hub of South Beach, it’s a fairly drab neighborhood with stucco housing, diners and condos lining the shore. But it has an overlooked gem tucked into its western edge, and that’s a .4-square-mile, 41-lot private island called Indian Creek. Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump recently bought a 1.8-acre lot for $30m on Indian Creek Island, which is considered Miami’s most ultra-exclusive address (the plot was originally purchased by Latin singer Julio Iglesias, who lives on the island, through Jills Zeder real estate).

It was a terrible day in American history. And also a bad day to “stick to sports.” The horrifying images at the nation’s Capitol on Wednesday — during what should have been a peaceful counting of electoral votes — was well-covered by the news media, which had been expecting a raucous 24 hours (both inside and outside the government chambers). It also pulled in a lot of media that’s been carefully trying to toe the line between acknowledging the real world and reporting on non-“newsy” subjects. Which is pretty impossible when you have domestic terrorist cosplayers pushing aside security and invading the offices of elected officials without fear of arrest.

Under different circumstances, it’s not hard to see how the idea of Van Morrison and Eric Clapton teaming up for a new song might be appealing. One of them is among rock’s most acclaimed vocalists and songwriters; the other is a guitarist lauded for his skill and style for decades. That their collaboration would come on a song addressing the present moment opens up a world of possibilities: could they, perhaps, be working on a song in support of first responders or communities whose health is at risk from the pandemic?

Generational shifts almost always wreak havoc on accepted pop-culture wisdom. As one cohort ages out of a particular scene — be it music, movies, fashion or design — a new group rushes into to fill the gap, bringing with them their own ideas about what’s cool, what’s not and most importantly, where you should turn your attention next.

When it became apparent that Philly and its surrounding suburbs would help propel Joe Biden to the White House, the internet suddenly stopped ridiculing the City of Brotherly Love and instead began to appreciate the beauty buried somewhere within.

The vote in the House over whether to create a “January 6th Commission” has ended. The bill passed, which is expected given who runs the chamber. What wasn’t as expected (or perhaps it was?) is that 35 Republicans joined hands with their Democrat colleagues, agreeing to walk headlong into a partisan buzzsaw. This per The Daily Caller. The House of Representatives passed a bill Wednesday that would create a bipartisan, 9/11-style commission into the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, with dozens of Republicans joining Democrats in a rebuke of GOP leadership. The bill passed 252 to 175 with support from 35 Republicans, even though top GOP leaders opposed it and

Sharp-eyed observers noted that his steering wheel didn’t control the tires and believe that someone else was driving the car.
