My way or the highway.
Biden just proposed $1.8 trillion in deficit spending. He's talking a lot about infrastructure, but only a little over $100 billion is actually going to roads, bridges, tunnels, and highways. More than that will be going as sweetheart subsidies for electric cars. Instead, Dems have begun insisting that everything is infrastructure. Like massive lies and theft. Those are now very definitely infrastructure.
There's a good reason why the Dems talk about infrastructure, but don't fund it. They want to get rid of it.
The elimination of suburbs is high on the lefty agenda of forcing everyone to cram into cities where they can be tightly controlled.

I’m liberal speak the $100 billion is going to big labor unions to be funneled back as campaign donations.

I would like to see 100 billion of infrastructure money spent on building concentration camps for leftists. They could learn what it’s like to live without freedom, to have to work to eat nothing but spinach and have only lucianne on their internet.

The Romans built roads, and the world prospered. Mayor Bloomberg put a picnic table in the middle of the crossroads of the world - Times Square - and thought is was a good idea. Idiot Mayor of NYC put bike lanes in the middle of traffic, and then declared he wanted "congestion tax" and the Moron Governor gets behind it after they caused the congestion. That's called racketeering anywhere else.
Those organic heads of Kale are going to get very expensive when the Highways are gone.

I saw a reporter talking to Black people who would be impacted by the removal of a freeway that supposedly "divides" their neighborhoods in New Orleans. These people were very against the removal of the freeway. Over the years, the underneath of the freeways have become community gathering places. People under the freeways, have picnics, parties, festivals, and all kinds of celebrations that bring their people and communities together. These under the highway spaces have become community green spaces that are shaded from the hot Louisiana sun and provide a cool spot for people to gather. They do not want what has become a part of their local community culture to be destroyed by some Washington bureaucrat who thinks they know what is good for them.

There is a video on the worst cities in the country. It is a dystopian view of what's happening to urban areas and it's worse that I imagined. EVERY one was a Commierat city where the producing workers had left because of outsourcing to China. What I can't figure is why the remaining (black) population didn't leave like white people did.

Be interesting to see what happens when the trucks can longer bring food to the cities because of non-functioning highways. Not many wheat and corn fields on Manhattan Island.

Kill highways and you'll be hoarding more than toilet paper. EVERYTHING moves by road or rail, including gasoline since we're not to be allowed pipelines. Why do people write stupid articles about impossible stuff ?

#1 is correct. That is why Democrats love spending money on infrastructure. Under the Prevailing Wage Act, contracts must go to builders that pay the "prevailing wage" as determined by the average wage set in local collective bargaining agreements.( Non-union shops generally pay less.) If states, cities and counties want to get in on the DC gravy, they, too, must award the bids of only those contractors that pay the prevailing wage. A portion of the union dues collected from the employees hired for those jobs are laundered back to the Democrats as campaign contributions. It has always amazed me that Republicans don't seem to understand this. In the last federally funded street improvement program in my community, thousands of dollars were wasted on building wheel chair ramps at every intersection of a steep secondary highway. Only one or two hardy walkers use the sidewalk in any 24-hour period. I have lived here for 20 years, and have never seen a the occupant of a wheelchair try to climb or descend that grade, leaving the curb ramps an illustration of foolish spending. But someone felt better about themselves for having insisted upon it.

And PS youngsters or parents tell your kids who are inclined to trades instead of college BS.
Everything in the WORLD moves by trucks, trains, and ships. Get your diesel mechanic's master ticket and you will NEVER be out of a job or hungry.

They REALLY hate us having the freedom to roam the country as if we were free individuals. They really want to end that. No long range cars, no good highways. Same, same....don't let people be free.

I guess the states will have to take charge of the state highways. States need to assert themselves and not just roll over to the fed. I know, I know... the states want the federal $$$$$. Well, we'll have to figure it out.
