COLUMBUS, OH – The Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus has joined hordes of untrained armchair quarterbacks, in order to render her opinion on police procedure after the officer-involved shooting of Ma’Khia Bryant. In Columbus, Ohio on April 20, 2021, Officer Nicholas Reardon had to make a split second decision to intervene as Ma’Khia Bryant rushed toward her potential victim with a knife, after ignoring lawful orders to “get down.” Reardon fired his pistol, striking Bryant and ending the attack. Aid was rendered at the scene, but Bryant was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Neighbors reported that Bryant “was in full attack mode” and also said:

Warning shots not allowed, first, they would not stop a crazy from killing and second, the "warning" shot may wind up hitting someone blocks away.

Col. Jeff Cooper's Roles of Gun Safety: 1.) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are. 2.) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy. 3.) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target. 4. Identify your target, and what is behind it. What Rep. Beatty calls for is a violation of the last of Col. Jeff Cooper's Four Rules of Gun Safety. Firing up into the air--Saddam Hussein style--can kill someone a long way away. Even pResident Zhou Xiden said to shoot up into the air in self defense. Only a fool who doesn't know anything about firearms would say that.

Many of you missed the light pole at the end of the driveway. I would have shot at the light pole, causing the bullet to ricochet towards the woman. Having lost most of its energy, it would have hit her in the head, knocking her out. Problem solved!

Fools. Bullets end up landing somewhere. My windshield was hit one New Year’s Eve. The car was on my driveway, in the back of the property next to the garage. These foolishly shot bullets have killed innocent persons. Both of Bryant’s parents have rap sheets for various crimes - lots of domestic abuse and violence. This is not a very classy blog but the information is backed up by screen shots of actual records… https://turtleboysports.com/turns-out-makhia-bryants-parents-are-both-criminals-and-her-dad-was-the-guy-in-the-video-kicking-the-chick-on-the-ground-before-she-got-shot/

Thanks to #9 for that fascinating link. Good "get." It's so frustrating that people believe propaganda from approved legacy media outlets, are fooled, and behave as the controllers want them to. In the meantime, what is actually happening is available to those who are discriminating--less pervious to BS--to those who dig for the truth. Speaking of dig, I dig many here, none more than Earlybird. We're here to learn from good teachers.

While absolutely no question that shooting in the air is stupid, and dangerous. There is a bit of factual news to pass along. The US Army was using machine guns as light artillery in WW1, raking enemy trenches at 3000+ yards, several miles, where the bullets were deadly. When the ground forces came under attack by aircraft, the troops fired back...and the Army was concerned about the danger to Allied troops when the bullets came down. So, they did testing. They fired machine guns (.30-06, very powerful rifles) nearly straight up on a piece of deserted coastline, in a adjustable tripod, rigidly mounted. They began to see the bullets coming down in the water, and adjusted the angle steeper to make the bullets land ever closer, firing short bursts. Eventually they were dropping bullets into the sand nearby where they could observe them, and let them hit various test materials. When fired DIRECTLY upwards, meaning essentially perfectly 90 degrees so the bullet lands very close to the firing point, the bullet remains spinning, stops while pointed upwards, and falls, still spinning like a top, and lands base first with modest velocity, will dent wood slightly. BUT aim any significant angle away from exactly straight up and the bullet will describe an arc, land point first with significant velocity, and will be dangerous. Bottom Line: Yes, there is a small zone at absolutely straight up (not easily achieved) where the fall is not very harmful, but all lower angles are dangerous, the lower the more dangerous. Idiots firing in the air on New Years are often firing far away from the pure vertical, creating danger far, far away. Don't fire in the air. See: Hatcher's Notebook.

I remember a story many years ago about a New Years Eve in the city where I lived. In one neighborhood, it was a habit to shoot bullets into the air to celebrate the arrival of the new year. That New Years Eve, a bullet fell, striking an 8 year old boy squarely on his head, killing him instantly. The police were never able to find the source of the shot, which they speculated could have been blocks away.

Shooting in the air is never a good idea as many stated, but we're missing the point. In the time it takes for a cop to size up the situation at hand, the victim of the knife attack could have been split open from stem to stern. A falling bullet is somewhat secondary. Ask the attackee or her mom how she feels about 'air shooting'

Re #22: Absolutely correct. Even correct from the standpoint of physics. But when idiots fire at closer to the proper angle for a track and field competition discus or shot (32-37 degrees), or, more likely, at some angle closer to horizontal--the bullet isn't traveling straight down*--it might fatally impact something downrange. As a for instance, I've seen demonstrations of 9mm pistol bullets going deep into gel blocks at more than a quarter mile distance. So it's not the gravity that kills, it's the remaining forward velocity. Some of those bullets, particularly from a rifle, can go a ways. *Arnold Palmer, playing as always in front of a large crowd, pondering how to play his next stroke, bent down, took a few blades of grass from the fairway, held them up, let them go, and watched them drift down in no apparent wind. Some low information galleryite spoke through the silence, "Which way's the wind blowing, Arnie?" Palmer, not smiling, said, "Straight down." There were some giggles.

I;m surprised they don't mandate the first three bullets loaded in a gun be blanks. Shooting live ammo kills people when it his, and kills people when it misses. I'd say half the casualties in any big city come when gang-bangers miss their targets and hit bystanders. What do you want, lame brains? More innocent deaths, from gun violence? Hypocrites!! A body shot tends to contain the bullet to the perp rather than let it fly free to whomever.

In one of the city's fine institutes of learning, a high school, a hood waited until between classes to accost another happening along, late for class, when he sprang his robbery and pulled a knife. As he (black) backed his victim against a wall, the other student (white), the intended victim pulled a .38 revolver and ended the encounter with one round to the cabeza. Forget it, Jake. The stupid just keeps piling on from the arm chair quarterbacks in this incident. Since everyone is now an expert on how police should respond to incident in the Black community, I guess that there is no more need for police to respond. When they call 911, they can just tell them what to do. Let the fight naturally progress and see what happens. Let the victim bleed and wait for the ambulance. Wait for the social worker in a domestic situation. The possibilities are endless. This will save on police calls and will save the police from being accused of shooting or needlessly killing people as they are doing it themselves. And since they are busy killing themselves, it will all be ok and nobody will seem to mind the carnage to follow in the black community. Black politicians, activists, and BLM should then be happy.

A specter is haunting the Democratic Party — the specter of inflation. Inflation is an insidious tax that robs the poor and the middle class. It favors the U.S. government, the world’s biggest debtor, because the government expects to pay back its creditors in Monopoly money. It crushes the real earnings of the vast majority of American households and destroys their savings. That’s what the Democratics are up to. And that’s what might bring them down–just as 12% inflation brought down Jimmy Carter in 1980. It’s time for Republicans to cry “Thief!” and hold President Joe Biden to account for the disaster that has already begun to befall America.

While Biden hasn’t released the details of this plan yet, experts say that it will take huge changes to accomplish Biden’s climate objectives. The Wyoming Republican — who has been a frequent target of former President Donald Trump — said there are a number of contenders she sees as having potential for the 2024 nomination, adding that she believes the lawmakers who led the efforts on challenging the election on Jan. 6 should be out of the running.

The Biden administration is refusing to weigh in on the Iranian foreign minister claiming in a leaked recording that former Secretary of State and current Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry told him about secret Israeli operations being carried out in In response, Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK) called on Kerry to resign during a speech on the Senate floor. It's become clear...that our adversaries, whether Beijing or Iran, like it when John Kerry is in charge of foreign policy and national security. Why? Because they know how to use him to their advantage," Sullivan said.

Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif claimed in recently leaked audio that John Kerry, when he was serving as Secretary of State during the Obama administration, informed him of more than 200 Israeli operations in Syria. Kerry has previously been accused of colluding with Iranian leaders to undermine the Trump administration. Kerry is now a part of the Biden administration and has a seat on the National Security Council as the special presidential envoy for climate. Kerry shocked Zarif by revealing that Israel had attacked Iranian targets in Syria more than 200 times, according to leaked audio obtained by The New York Times and other outlets.

Twenty retired French generals have called for military rule if Emmanuel Macron fails to halt the 'disintegration' of the country 'at the hands of Islamists', in an open letter published ahead of next year's presidential election. The open letter, published in Valeurs Actuelles, a right-wing news magazine, claims a military coup might be necessary to stop a 'civil war' in France. The letter has been condemned by Macron's government, who compared it to the failed coup by generals against President de Gaulle 60 years ago. However, far-right National Rally leader Marine Le Pen hailed the letter, which was signed by 80 other retired officers,

Here’s something you don’t hear every day. In North Carolina Tuesday, an official was relieved of his position. As relayed by the Greensboro News and Record, construction contractor Tony Collins was unanimously kicked off the Greensboro City Council’s Zoning Commission. The reason: The day before, he’d addressed Carrie Rosario — who has her doctorate degree — as “Carrie” and “Mrs. Rosario.” She’d repeatedly requested to be called “Dr. Rosario.”

The howl was loud, prolonged, anguished and animated.Actress Frances McDormand's bizarre imitation of a wolf was comfortably the most surprising and interesting part of this year's Oscars. And although there was a heartfelt story behind it – she was paying tribute to a sound engineer on her movie Nomadland named Michael Wolf Snyder who took his life earlier this year – the howl perfectly encapsulated my own feelings watching the most unwatchable Academy Awards in history.Honestly, if there was an Oscar for Worst Horror Story, it would go to whoever decided it would be a good idea to hold this year's event in a train station.

The number of people who tuned in to watch the three-hour long 'wokefest' that was the Oscars has hit an all time low with just 9.85 million viewers. The television ratings for the 93rd Academy Awards on Sunday night is a 58 percent drop compared to last year's already record-low 23.64 million viewers, according to early Nielsen numbers. The huge drop in ratings for Hollywood's biggest night continues an overall multi-year downward trend for the Academy Awards, which were above 43 million as recently as 2014. It comes after the Grammys, Golden Globes and SAG Awards all experienced more than 50 percent declines

A few videos are making the rounds showing a wild brawl taking place at one of the gates in Miami International Airport. We don’t know what started the brawl, although the media are reporting that the police did eventually arrest one person for disorderly conduct. The primary victim, however, does not want to press charges, so the matter will almost certainly disappear. What makes one of the videos so compelling is the fact that it seemly represents the breakdown of law and order across American cities.
