Disney recently updated its dress code for employees at its theme park, including gender-inclusive hairstyles and visible tattoos.
In a blog post, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Josh D'Amaro said the company is making changes and “creating a place where everyone is welcome.”
D'Amaro announced that Disney made the changes to remain relevant in today's workplace and create a culture of belonging.
“Every Disney Parks cast member is familiar with our longstanding tradition of The Four Keys, Safety, Courtesy, Show and Efficiency, which have guided our approach to guest service for more than 65 years," D'Amaro said.
He added that the Fifth Key would be “Inclusion.”

They should stop messing around and go all the way: require all staff be trans, have face tattoos and metal, and bar all straight white people from their park.

The last time I visited Disneyland in Anaheim I was bored to tears, and it was expensive, too. Employees can wear anything they want because I will never, ever see them again. What a waste of a day and $500. Folks, save your money for less expensive and more interesting things.

Well... I have visited The Magic Kingdom since opening day. My parents took me there. My school drove my class there. I took my girlfriends there. My girlfriends took me there. I took my bride there. We took our kids there. And now? I’ll just remember the good times and keep those memories. Not going there.

Makes no mind to me.
I think a mandatory tatted Tinkerbell uniform would be the way to go. But what do I know.
Disney is dead to me, and becoming a distant and very fuzzy memory.

So much for the wholesome all American look. Maybe making Tinkerbell look like a truck stop lot lizard will make things better? Last time I was at Anaheim was 1971 and the only thing impressive was the outrageous price. With what #2 says they have become far worse. With that money I can buy a nice gun that I can pass on for generations, and if I have to look at tattooed freaks at least I wont be paying for it.

I visited Disneyland not too long after it opened. What a magical place it was back then. Unfortunately the dream died with Walt.

Not to worry. We were able to pick them out without the "updated" dress code. Kind of a giveaway when you see the six foot tall guy, tapered haircut with a bit of fluff on top the head sashaying down the street! Or the gal who has on guy shoes and walks like a Lineman. We knew they were there many years back. Maybe "Gay Days" was a hint as to where Disney was headed!

Twenty years ago, I knew Disney was on a bad vector when a coworker had her Disney vacation ruined when she and her family unknowingly scheduled their vacation on a Disney "gay-friendly" weekend where the place was crawling with all kinds of unseemly outfits, costumes and behavior she didn't want her children to see. I've not been tempted to visit the "magic kingdom" since.

I won't know about it they can hire MS13 gangs for all I care. The last time I went to Disneyland was 1965 that was enough for me to remember.

My grandkids have seen Disney for the last time. We can look at human garbage on the streets, why pay over a hundred bucks a day to view it?

I’m a native Floridian who has never set foot at Disney World and the closest I’ve ever been to any of the attractions has been driving through Orlando on the interstate.
Any thought I ever had of going there was ended when they started having “gay weekends” a couple of decades ago. And I won’t buy any Disney products for my grandkids either.

Taking your young children there should be considered contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Can't wait until Disney finally goes bankrupt. I am happy that my grandchildren have absolutely NO interest in anything Disney. They don't even want to go to the parks.

It'll be torn down to build the next sports stadium , soon enough. Disneyland was counting on descendants of the first few generations but the non-breeders have taken over.

Every time I read something about Disney, I'm so glad my son was never interested in going to Disney World. When he was young, he liked Woody and Buzz Lightyear, but outside of that, he was never into anything Disney. I went to Disney World when it first opened. It's an overhyped amusement park. I never really liked amusement parks.

Re #7, yes it was a magical place in the beginning. Wholesome, beautifully clean place. Some years later a visiting French wine executive was visiting and his wife (whom I had never met) had long dreamed of visiting Disneyland. She spoke no English, I had just basic greetings and niceties in French. We had a French-English dictionary. We had a hilarious time. But Disneyland was not the kind, gentle place I remembered.

If ever I have the urge for a Disney experience I will visit the one near Paris during an annual trip to France. One of the many European aspects that are superior to today’s America is that most businesses that cater to the public require the help to be uniformed so one can identify them. Once in a while a discreet tattoo might appear but most employees there are well groomed.
If I want to see entire bodies cluttered with ink, bizarre facial hair and the odious man ban I can see that all around me where I live. I’ll stick with France and Europe and hope they resist importing the American slovenliness.
