When Maria Ana Mendez left Honduras a decade ago to earn money in the United States, her daughter Cindy was still in pigtails and playing with dolls. But settled now with a job and an apartment in upstate New York, Mendez was ready to bring Cindy to live with her. Because she is still without legal status and could not legally bring her into the country, she paid a guide $8,000 in February to take Cindy, now 16, across thousands of miles to the doorstep of the United States. Three weeks later, Mendez heard from her daughter for the first

Comments:

Children are being 'lost', sleeping on the ground, shuffled around the country, and bringing COVID with them. This huge mess is entirely Biden's making.

Sob, Oh Boo Hoo, you mean old Americans. We will not have regained our country until every single one, repeat every single illegal alien is rounded up and shipped back to the hell holes they came from. No exceptions. Remove the lawbreakers. These people's sense of priorities leaves me shaking my head. What should be her main priority? HER DAUGHTER! Instead she leaves her ten years ago to sneak into the USA to make money. Momma's an illegal, been laying low for ten years. Yeah, money is important, but your daughter is more important than money. Her daughter has been without her mother for ten years. So wrong. She should never let her daughter out of her sight. Instead she pays some stranger she does not know to sneak her daughter she hasn't seen in ten years into the country. Big mistake. What could go wrong? EVERYTHING! A guide that's a crook? A daughter that lost her ties to mother long ago?

Many of the people and families pushed by the Central American authorities to leave their country and go to the US are druggies, petty criminals, and generally problem people. They were a drag on their original country. They are going to be a drag here too.

Have we heard from the Human Trafficker in Chief on Cindy Mendez's fate? China Joe and his minions have enabled the Mexican cartels to make millions of $$$ from the desperate migrant trade. And get this they are going to send direct payments to Central Americans to stay home. What is the over and under that the payments are funneled to the Coyotes for additional caravans of migrants. Just admit it China Joe. America is the new El Norte.

Why isn't the mom down there at the US shelter claiming her child? She knows where she is... unlike what the headline says. So by Mom paying $8000 that should have guaranteed a 'paid' wrist band for the girl - a pretty wrist band with an ID # and 'Gold' insignia indicating the kid would get VIP treatment. Oh, wait - she was dealing with criminals - not covered by the 'Better Business Bureau' - so the child gets dumped and ICE has to deal with an impossible situation.

Awww. Pigtails and dolls, all ribbons and curls, right NYT? How do we even know there is a real Cindy? The mother is in the U.S. illegally and is in no way ready to receive her daughter here. She has no standing and must be deported herself. How can she board a plane to San Diego without any legal status? The driver’s license she obtained illegally? When this is over, she will recoup her $8,000 supposedly given to a human smuggler, her air fare will be reimbursed and she will get reparations for her pain and suffering all paid for by you and me. And we’ll never know if Cindy ever really even existed or was any relation to Mendez. Worse than a fool and his money is a fool with our money.

The NYT had no idea that Yahoo would publish an NBC article on this mother/daughter right below its article. Read this one - more pathos and more details, but no mention of the $8K to the coyote: https://news.yahoo.com/teen-crossed-border-reunites-her-151001988.html SAN DIEGO — Cindy, 17, had not seen her mother in a decade. Last month, she took a chance and journeyed from Honduras until she reached the U.S. border from Mexico for a chance to reunite with her mother, who lives in New York. Cindy, who is being identified only by her first name for safety reasons, spent three days in a hospital bed on the opposite side of the country, in California, as she battled Covid-19. Although she had spent several weeks in U.S. immigration facilities before she fell ill, her mother did not learn about her daughter's hospitalization until Cindy was able to borrow a phone from a doctor at the hospital.

Biden's infrastructure plan calls for

President Joe Biden wants cities to put more apartment buildings and multifamily units, such as converted garages, in areas traditionally zoned for single-family housing. As part of his $2.3 trillion infrastructure plan, cities would allow for smaller lots and for apartment buildings with fewer than six units to be built next to a traditional house. Current zoning laws that favor single-family homes – known as exclusionary zoning – have disproportionately hurt low-income Americans. Many of them can't afford to buy a big lot of land, leaving them trapped in crowded neighborhoods earmarked in the past for Black and brown residents, while white
