One bill would raise money via spectrum auctions. Another would require internet providers and large online platforms to pay up. Neither are likely to see action before ACP funds run out.

Comments:

Anyone still believe the Neanderthal is anything other than a big government spend and control?

Low-cost broadband? When I lived in the sparsely populated Upper Peninsula of Michigan, I had great speed and reliability with a local internet company. I moved to Florida because my wife was slowly drifting away from dementia and there were no doctors in the UP who knew how to treat her. In Florida, I have good doctors, but I also have Xfinity, which is half the speed I had in the UP and costs 2.5 times as much. I guess I missed out on the low-cost stuff somewhere.

Yep! THIS trivia is what the Congress is focused on, as the Federal government goes deeper into debt by TEN BILLION DOLLARS EVERY DAY! It's gonna get ugly, folks! I don't know when, but it's coming.

FTA: 'Money for that would come from assessments on residential and business broadband providers as well as on “edge service” platforms, similar to the USF contributions paid today by telecommunications carriers. How many times do we need to say this? Corporations DON'T PAY TAXES: they're passed along to the end user. Us.

Actor Jeff Daniels said Friday on MSNBC’s “Deadline” that he believed midwesterners were done with former President Donald Trump’s “lack of decency.” On the New York business document trial, Daniels said, “I know this is costing him where I live in Michigan. This is costing him votes.” He continued, “There’s just a lack of decency that Donald has kind of hitched his wagon to. He keeps telling us these things. You know, I mean, I look at the trial every day, and you watch what happens in the trial, and then you watch him talk about it like it was an amazing day. No, it wasn’t. It really wasn’t.

Pro-Palestinian protesters taking part in an encampment at Princeton University began a hunger strike to raise awareness for starving people in Gaza. The Princeton Israeli Apartheid Divest (PIAD) student organization posted a series of photos on Instagram announcing that pro-Palestinian protests would be launching a hunger strike “in solitary with Gaza.” “PRINCETON STUDENTS LAUNCH HUNGER STRIKE IN SOLIDARITY WITH GAZA!!” the group wrote. PIAD explained that as part of the hunger strike, protesters would “abstain from all food and drink” except for water until their demands were met. “We commit our bodies to their liberation of Palestine,” the group continued. “PRINCETON, hear us now! We will not be moved!”

A video of what is purported to be Ukrainian soldiers burning Donald Trump in effigy is causing quite a stir. In the clip, three soldiers are seen standing with a cardboard Trump lookalike as they deliver a message directly to the former president, essentially threatening Trump’s life for opposing the war with Russia — the 2024 presumptive Republican nominee has boasted that he would end the conflict in 24 hours with a brokered peace deal. “We address Donald Trump. Because of you b*****d President Zelenskyy couldn’t get any weapons. You will never be president again. You are a traitor. You will pay with your blood for what you did,”

Many on the left, including countless media organizations, keep trying to put lipstick on a pig and tell us it is Cindy Crawford. Yes, even today, some are characterizing President Biden as competent or even above average. And then there is The New Republic. Proclaiming Biden to be a “great” president, as The New Republic recently did, is akin to saying Pete Buttigieg is a “great” Secretary of Transportation…as trains keep derailing, plane parts fall from the sky, and ports are closed due to errant container ships and bridge collapses. But, keep in mind, The New Republic is to journalism what White Castle is to haute cuisine.

Elite higher education in America -- long unquestioned as globally preeminent -- is facing a perfect storm. Fewer applicants, higher costs, impoverished students, collapsing standards, and increasingly politicized and mediocre faculty reflect a collapse of the university system. The country is waking up to the reality that a bachelor's degree no longer equates with graduates being broadly educated and analytical. Just as often, they are stereotyped as pampered, largely ignorant, and gratuitously opinionated. No wonder polls show a drastic loss of public respect for higher education and, specifically, a growing lack of confidence in the professoriate.

Kash Patel tipped us off last month that there were more reports like this coming.
