An adviser to former San Antonio mayor and HUD secretary started a lie on social media that the agents were whipping Haitian migrants as they waded through the Rio Grande toward the Texas shore. It was a hoax to smear Border Patrol agents but the Biden administration fell for it. The agents were taken off their assignment as the lie went viral. So let me give you a concrete example: Google just booted this Trump ad that is completely, 100%, verifiably true for unspecified "policy violations." "Policy violations?" I can tell you exactly what the violation is: this ad is targeted at minority voters and it is probably very effective.

The Israeli Air Force will mothball its Patriot air defense systems within two months as it moves to replace them with its own more advanced air defense equipment, the country's defense ministry announced on April 30.

Pro-Palestinian protesters at the City College of New York had removed the American flag from the flagpole at the start of their protests two weeks ago and raised the Palestinian flag. After the NYPD swarmed the CUNY campus and began arresting dozens of protesters, several cops began to take down the Palestinian flag.
They were none too gentle about it either.
Then, NYPD Deputy Commissioner, Operations Kaz Daughtry and several other officers raised the American flag.

Pro-Palestinian protesters taking part in an encampment at Princeton University began a hunger strike to raise awareness for starving people in Gaza.
The Princeton Israeli Apartheid Divest (PIAD) student organization posted a series of photos on Instagram announcing that pro-Palestinian protests would be launching a hunger strike “in solitary with Gaza.”
“PRINCETON STUDENTS LAUNCH HUNGER STRIKE IN SOLIDARITY WITH GAZA!!” the group wrote.
PIAD explained that as part of the hunger strike, protesters would “abstain from all food and drink” except for water until their demands were met.
“We commit our bodies to their liberation of Palestine,” the group continued. “PRINCETON, hear us now! We will not be moved!”

Elite higher education in America -- long unquestioned as globally preeminent -- is facing a perfect storm.
Fewer applicants, higher costs, impoverished students, collapsing standards, and increasingly politicized and mediocre faculty reflect a collapse of the university system. The country is waking up to the reality that a bachelor's degree no longer equates with graduates being broadly educated and analytical. Just as often, they are stereotyped as pampered, largely ignorant, and gratuitously opinionated.
No wonder polls show a drastic loss of public respect for higher education and, specifically, a growing lack of confidence in the professoriate.
