Which historical group or conservation group will complain about this as another Trump vanity project to enrich himself and his billionaire buddies? It's a park. A nice park for everyone. Libs will hate it just because Trump wants it.

Went to a Smithsonian WW II exhibit a few years ago. If I didn’t know any better would have thought WW II was single handedly won by freed slaves and lesbians. Hope we do better this time.

I am so grateful that our Capital is being upgraded, beautified, and reimagined in ways only this master builder could accomplish. He is leaving an imprint for centuries to come. And he wastes not a single minute. Thank you, Sir.

I like this president and have said so from long before he was first elected. But there are times when he tries by patients. He is, as I have seen with my own eyes, capable of doing great real estate developments. The Trump World Tower in New York is a masterpiece of black slab curtain wall construction. At the Japanese restaurant was our go-to on the first floor where I lived there. However, I didn't hire him to redo the National Mall. When he returns to private life, I would be very, very interested in any proposals he might have for America's public spaces. But right now, I'd like him to focus the too-few years he has left as president on getting his agenda locked in, the courts sorted out, and many other things that he has on the go.

Im ambivalent. Ill never see it and could care less one way or another. Regardless my feelings or lack thereof, the debate will largely fall into two categories. 1, Trump is doing this, therefore its bad and must be resisted. If your for it, your a nazi white supremacist facist. 2, Trump is doing this, therefore its good and if your against it, you have TDS and hate America. There won't be any real discussion on the merits or its design. Thus, I just dont care. If it does proceed, almost no one will be happy with the design. Followed by removals later due to failed modern purity tests applied to previous generations. The controversies will never end. For example, the democrats have canceled Thomas Jefferson and vilified Lincoln for allegedly being a closeted gay man. And no park would be complete without the inclusion of Lucifer. /S/

My thoughts: this is a very nice idea, but most of those heros have their own parks somewhere in this country. Why not make it a park without specifying any specific person? No statues; no names. Just a beautiful park named "America's Heros" Park. We are, all, in some way, America's Heros. We wake up every morning; go to work when we are supposed to; live a clean life; try to better America in our own way.

Worked in DC for almost 30 years and do not plan on visiting it. I think it would be better if instead of more monuments that out taxpayer funded public schools actually teach the real history of America.

The Democratic Party’s dominance of the Golden State may be waning. More than 900,000 ballots turned in by early voters in the June 2 primary show more than a three-fold surge in Republican votes compared to the last governor’s race four years ago, according to newly released data. Data linked in a post over the weekend from the research firm Political Data (PDI) showed that “out of 905,889 ballots that have been returned, 37% were from Republicans, with Republican returns up 11% compared to the same stage of the 2022 midterms.” the California Post reported.

few days ago, the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation bestowed one of its storied Bradley Prizes on James Hankins, a sometime professor of history at Harvard University, now at the Hamilton Center at the University of Florida, and co-author of The Golden Thread: A History of the Western Tradition. (Actually, Hankins is the sole author of Volume I of The Golden Thread, which tells the story of the Western tradition from the Battle of Marathon in 490 BC through the Renaissance. Volume II, which picks up the story with the Reformation, is by the historian Allen Guelzo.) This is the moment when I note for the record that,

And that is exactly what a group of Islamist rioters called for this weekend at the site of the devastating 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York City. Marxists around the world, but particularly in America, were holding protests against the existence of Israel as the nation God gave to the Jews in perpetuity (Genesis 17:8), celebrated its independence and modern rebirth. Long deployments are hard on our service members, and now the USS Gerald R. Ford, the mightiest warship in human history, has returned to its home port of Norfolk, Virginia, after an 11-month deployment. That's the longest deployment by an American aircraft carrier since the Vietnam War. The extended deployment saw the ship involved in the ouster of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, and then participating in the curb-stomping of Iran in Operation Epic Fury. Now, the officers and sailors are getting a break.

With one weekend and a day before the Kentucky primary elections, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) has found himself with fewer and fewer friends and allies as President Donald Trump has actively sought to primary him over a number of open disputes. Massie, who has served in Congress since November 2012, faces three Republican challengers in next week’s primary voting to decide who will be the Republican contender to serve Kentucky’s 4th congressional district in the House. They are: Trump-endorsed former Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein, Dennis Jackson, and Robert Wells. Trump went so far as to attend a rally in support of Gallrein.

With the dust on redistricting mostly settled, Republicans appear poised for a double-digit swing of House seats in their favor in the 2026 midterms, at least if all goes according to plan. The Supreme Court’s decision in Louisiana v. Callais saw the justices narrow Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act and disallow race-based congressional districts. The move triggered map redraws across the South and is expected to result in more than a dozen seats moving toward the GOP, at least in time for 2028. Democratic countermeasures, meanwhile, have hit a judicial brick wall, with the Virginia Supreme Court striking down that state’s ambitious redraw, saving four Republican seats.

For a sense of how bereft the Democrats are of credible leaders and sensible policy ideas all one has to do is listen to the remarks of former Vice President Kamala Harris on the Win with Black Women podcast. She proposed a “no bad ideas brainstorm” in which Democrats would discuss “What we need to do, and think about doing, around the Electoral College … expanding the Supreme Court … statehood for Puerto Rico and D.C.” Harris, whom most polls of Democrat voters show as the front-runner for their party’s 2028 presidential nomination, said this as if offering fresh ideas.

They argue those costs are especially hitting the trucking industry, where rising commercial insurance premiums can ripple through freight rates, grocery bills, consumer goods and even personal auto insurance premiums. “Abusive litigation practices against the trucking industry

ABC7 KATV did not provide names for any of the suspects, but merely said that the third suspect fled the vehicle when officers stopped it to arrest the teenagers. Three of the Americans faced a high-risk contact or exposure, the sources said, and one was symptomatic. It wasn't immediately clear whether the Americans are still in Congo. The health news organization STAT was first to report on the exposures. The World Health Organization this week declared the Ebola outbreak in Congo and Uganda a "public health emergency of international concern." At least 80 suspected deaths have been reported, the WHO said Saturday.
