A Good Day For The Navy

Has the U.S. grown ashamed of its military victories? There are reasons to believe this is true. In April 1988, the U.S. Navy effectively destroyed the Iranian navy following a mine attack on the destroyer USS Roberts. The Navy sank an Iranian frigate, four armed speedboats, blew up two armed oil platforms, and damaged another frigate in one of the shortest and most successful campaigns of the postwar period. Yet even today, there is no actual name attached to the engagement. It’s known simply as “Operation Praying Mantis,” not the obvious “Battle of the Persian Gulf.” More recent events can also act as evidence for cynicism toward American feats

Well, it really wasn't a "battle" - more like a skirmish, although we did lose a helo with two crewmen.

How about talking about something other than district judges and injunctions? Yes, I’m angry about that, too. But today let’s remember one spring day in Dodger Stadium,* when they used to play day games. We remember Rick Monday, a pretty good outfielder who played for the A’s, Cubs, and Dodgers. His best years were with the Cubs (1972–76), when he hit 106 home runs and was a very tough out. Later he moved to the L.A. Dodgers and hit a 9th-inning home run to beat Montreal in the 1981 NLCS. However, his greatest baseball moment had nothing to do with hits or home runs.
As predicted, AOC is clearly running for president 21 replies

Here at American Thinker, we predicted that AOC is a real possibility as the 2028 Democrat party presidential candidate. Yesterday, AOC made it plain that she thinks so, too. AOC’s appeal to the left is obvious: She’s female, glib, telegenic, well-recognized, vaguely Hispanic, antisemitic, and a truly leftist ideologue. Bernie Sanders rightly sees her as the bridge between his old-fashioned class warfare and the new multi-culti warfare, both vehicles for the Marxist overthrow of the West. That’s why the two of them have been appearing in venues across America to rally the true believers.

Hillary Clinton does not have a reputation for honesty. Indeed, ever since she burst onto the political scene, the one guarantee with Hillary was that you couldn’t trust her. Whole articles have been published about the whoppers she’s told over the decades (see, e.g., here and here). One thing, though, that’s always seemed to be true is her claim to have graduated from Yale Law School. After hearing her latest pronouncement, though, I must admit to having my doubts about that statement, too. One of the things that’s pretty clear in the United States Constitution, which has traditionally been part of the curriculum at American law schools
The Death of the Center-Left in America 4 replies

The center-left in the United States is no longer a viable political force. Once among the largest segments in the political spectrum, it meekly surrendered to and has been essentially absorbed by the American Marxists. This was a realignment almost entirely due to the breathtaking level of gullibility and ignorance of ostensibly well-educated self-described liberals. Over the years, this naïveté and obliviousness have been a source of amusement and head-shaking incredulity. However, these traits have now become so dominant among an ever-growing segment within American society that the future of this nation as a prosperous and freedom-loving country is in serious jeopardy.

If history is any indication, justice will not be blind—Karmelo Anthony is O.J. Simpson all over again. At this point, Karmelo Anthony’s family has raised more than $450,000 on the back of his crime (which reminds me to never use GiveSendGo again). They’re praising him, acting like he’s a victim who suffering under an unjust legal system: A quick scroll through the fundraiser’s comments reveals that a sizable portion of the black community agrees, saying this is what the “colonizers” get—let’s be honest, they didn’t know or use that term until the white leftist academics started propagandizing with it—and noting that the FBA is behind him “no matter what.”

Pam Bondi’s ability to manage the Department of Justice has come under increased scrutiny from the right. File releases are delayed or mismanaged. No apparent action is taken against subversive government officials. And J6ers and other victims of a weaponized DoJ remain unsatisfied. Many have raised the question of whether Pam Bondi was the right choice for MAGA attorney general. Many more, including President Trump, would be questioning her bona fides if they knew about Bondi’s role in the creation of Black Lives Matter. How Trump handles the DoJ will be crucial to the success of his second term.

You do not have to wade far into the recently declassified Crossfire Hurricane documents to be shocked. I had only read three pages of the FBI’s December 19, 2016 interview with the DoJ’s Bruce Ohr before learning just how early in the game the FBI brass knew that the Steele dossier was worthless. In the way of background, on July 31, 2016, the FBI launched its counterintelligence operation into the Trump campaign, codenamed “Crossfire Hurricane.” FBI agent Peter Strzok was assigned to head it up. If the goal was to cripple Trump regardless of the evidence, Strzok was the man for the job.

In the Wisconsin state election held on April 1, 2025, hard-left Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate Susan Crawford, who was adamantly opposed to Voter IDs, faced off against conservative Brad Schimel. Crawford won (55% to 45%), garnering 237,884 more votes than Schimel out of a total of 2,364,372 votes cast. In the same election, 63% of voters supported an amendment to the Wisconsin state constitution requiring a voter ID. The voter ID amendment carried every one of Wisconsin’s 72 counties except Dane County (where Madison is) and Milwaukee County. The disconnect between the two outcomes is stunning until you look under the hood.

We were posted at the front of a large public high school auditorium in the Land of the Free in 2015. Both of us were responsible for maintaining some semblance of order as 150 to 200 students socialized, did homework, and ate lunch. I can’t tell you what my partner saw, but I saw girls sitting on their boyfriends’ laps. I noticed a student climbing over chairs to get from A to B. Some students were throwing things. We discouraged all this, of course, but the scene reminded me of Wild West cattle drives I’d seen on TV.

The Uniparty is determined to severely undermine President Trump’s efforts to rebalance trade agreements worldwide and bring back millions of jobs from overseas. As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday the implementation of a 10% baseline tariff on all imports, effective April 5, 2025. The worst offenders will be hit with even tougher measures on April 9. Speaking from the White House Rose Garden, President Trump proclaimed April 2 as “Liberation Day,” marking a new era of economic independence. He emphasized that this measure is essential to protect American jobs and revitalize domestic manufacturing.

Watch: [video] “I need to ask you an issue that no one’s brought up and has crashed your 401(k)s, most of you, the tariffs,” Luntz said. “The stock market is way down.” “It needed a correction,” said Sarina from New York. “Oh, so you support it?” a visibly surprised Luntz asked,

State governments refusing to cooperate with federal law enforcement in enforcing immigration law because they reject the idea is an insurrection. And it ought to be treated like one. Whether it’s Gov. Newsom in California or Gov. Evers in Wisconsin, state governors ordering employees to obstruct ICE is a Fort Sumter moment. The State of Wisconsin guidance to “state employees encountering ICE or other federal agents at their workplace” tells them to ask for their budgets, tell them to sit in a “public area” , not allow them to “enter into a non-public area” and to refuse to cooperate without contacting a lawyer. Gov. Evers’s directive warns state employees

Joe Biden’s appearance at Pope Francis's funeral on Saturday caused as a stir as the 82-year-old former president showed significant signs of physical deterioration, even requiring significant assistance just to navigate a short flight of stairs at the Vatican. In a telling moment that validates the concerns many of us had about his fitness for office, Biden was seen desperately clutching the arm of an elderly priest while also relying on his wife, Jill, for support. The scene would have been comical if it weren't so concerning—here was a man who, just last year, was insisting he could handle another four years as leader of the free world,

House Republican leaders are considering making some of the key tax benefits that President Donald Trump promised on the 2024 campaign trail only temporary policies in the reconciliation bill that's currently being crafted. A "sunset" period of four years is under consideration for policies such as eliminating taxes on tips, Social Security benefits and overtime pay, Just the News has learned. The move has drawn criticism from a budget watchdog group, the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, which has described the possibility of scoring certain tax benefits as temporary rather than permanent to estimate the full cost of the package as "manipulation" that wouldn't show the true cost.

It didn’t stop there. “We’re dealing with a very, different America. We’re dealing with constituents who are understandably concerned at the unprecedented events that we’ve seen unfold,” Jeffries said. He is undermining President Trump’s efforts to get trade deals.

One cause, however, is believed to be non-citizens, their inability to assimilate into Roman culture, and Rome’s DEI policies that welcomed immigrants to serve in the military.
