California is expected to run out of license plate numbers next year, according to the state's Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). This has prompted the department to prepare the launch of a new series of alphanumeric license plates for the first time. Why It Matters - California's current license plate configuration is running out sooner than expected as there has been a higher than anticipated increase in car sales. According to the California New Car Dealers Association, 463,114 new vehicles were registered in the state in the first quarter of 2025. This marks a 8.3 percent increase year-on-year.

A Milwaukee judge arrested for allegedly hiding an undocumented migrant from ICE has a sign on her courtroom offering Zoom hearings to those who 'felt unsafe' coming to court. 'If any attorney, witness coordinator, or other court official knows or believes that a person feels unsafe coming to the courthouse to courtroom 615, please notify the branch 31 clerk to request court appearance via ZOOM,' reads the sign on County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan's door. It's not uncommon for judges to offer Zoom hearings for victims of violent crimes who fear facing their aggressors. But the sign is circulating online following Dugan's arrest Friday, which has sent waves across the political spectrum.

Mexico is calling on broadcasters to ban a series of Department of Homeland Security ads that feature Secretary Kristi Noem dissuading migrants from illegally crossing the border into the United States. The ads, which aired during a Mexican soccer game, showed men being put in handcuffs and placed in police cars and migrants crossing the dangerous Rio Grande and scaling the border wall. “If you are considering entering America illegally, don’t even think about it,” Noem said in the ad. “If you come to our country and you break our laws, we will hunt you down. Criminals are not welcome.” Following the ad’s airing, a Mexican government agency released a statement

President Trump and first lady Melania will likely have a third-row seat to Pope Francis’ funeral on Saturday, sandwiched between African dignitaries — and far away from Ukrainian President Volodmyr Zelensky. World leaders are expected to sit in alphabetical order according to the name of their country in French, in line with Vatican protocol that also dictated Pope John Paul II’s funeral in 2005. That puts the delegation from the US — which translates to États-Unis — after Ethiopia and before Eswatini, formerly known as Swaziland. Front row to the papal service, which begins Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Peter’s Square, will be powerful archbishops, bishops and cardinals.

He’s not remorseful. He’s crying because he knows that he’s getting bitten on the a-- and he’s gotta go away now,” Osthoff said, adding bitterly, “Have fun, George.” Osthoff – who claimed Santos helped him launch a GoFundMe to help his dog

Osman Salahuddin (D-Redmond) sponsored the companion bill,” Ferguson’s website stated. “The new law does not establish Eid holidays as paid holidays, but rather adds them to the state’s list of recognized observances,

A new transparency report looking at a popular multibillion-dollar program in the Department of Labor has found a meager success rate, setting the stage for possible cuts amid the Trump administration's push to slash waste. The Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration has released a detailed report investigating the financial performance and efficiency of the Jobs Corps Program, a federally funded residential career training and education program popular with unions and designed for eligible low-income young adults aged 16-24. The report, which analyzed 124 job centers, looked into the definitions of what constitutes "graduating" from the program and found that the average graduation rate ranges from 32% to 38%,

A new bill in the Golden State would allow homeless community college and state university students to sleep in their cars during the blue state's housing crisis. A Public Policy Institute of California report found California has among the lowest homeownership rates and the most expensive housing in the U.S., with rent about 50% higher than the national median. The California bill seeks to provide a short-term solution to the state's decades-long housing strife. Assemblymember Corey Jackson, a progressive California Democrat with a doctorate in social work, proposed a bill in March that would require the chancellors of the California state universities and the governing board of each community college

Here at American Thinker, we predicted that AOC is a real possibility as the 2028 Democrat party presidential candidate. Yesterday, AOC made it plain that she thinks so, too. AOC’s appeal to the left is obvious: She’s female, glib, telegenic, well-recognized, vaguely Hispanic, antisemitic, and a truly leftist ideologue. Bernie Sanders rightly sees her as the bridge between his old-fashioned class warfare and the new multi-culti warfare, both vehicles for the Marxist overthrow of the West. That’s why the two of them have been appearing in venues across America to rally the true believers.

And in the wake of the cancellations, Washington’s Capital Pride Alliance has disassociated itself from the Kennedy Center.
