WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump said he was “very angry” and “* off” when Russian President Vladimir Putin criticized the credibility of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s leadership, adding that the comments were “not going in the right location.”
Agence France-Presse reported that Putin on Friday called for a transitional government to be put in place in Ukraine, which could effectively push out Zelenskyy.
“If Russia and I are unable to make a deal on stopping the bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I think it was Russia’s fault — which it might not be — but if I think it was Russia’s fault,

WASHINGTON - U.S. President Donald Trump threatened Iran on Sunday with bombing and secondary tariffs if Tehran did not come to an agreement with Washington over its nuclear program.
In Trump's first remarks since Iran rejected direct negotiations with Washington last week, he told NBC News that U.S. and Iranian officials were talking, but did not elaborate. "If they don't make a deal, there will be bombing," Trump said in a telephone interview. "It will be bombing the likes of which they have never seen before."
"There's a chance that if they don't

It’s not entirely clear if he was real or fictional. Most historians believe he was probably real, but it’s tricky to verify: The legend of Lucius Cincinnatus was (enthusiastically) retold in Titus “Livy” Livius’ book, the “History of Rome,” which was written a few decades before Christ. Unquestionably, Livius’ book included real, verifiable, historic events, but it also included the mythology of the Trojan War and tales of magical twins suckled by a she-wolf.
But the legend of Lucius Cincinnatus still endures. He’s even the namesake of an American city in southwest Ohio. And his story continues to influence kings, queens, emperors, and (yes) even U.S. presidents.

The New York Times editorial board just discovered what conservatives have been saying for years: the Democratic Party is completely out of touch with everyday Americans.
It’s a stunning rebuke from a paper that typically carries the water for Dems. The Times finally admitted the obvious: Democrats' obsession with identity politics and their "scolding, censorious posture" have driven voters straight into Republicans' arms.
“In the aftermath of this comprehensive defeat, many party leaders have decided that they do not need to make significant changes to their policies or their message,” the editorial board writes. “They have instead settled on a convenient explanation for their plight.”

WASHINGTON — The State Department formally announced Friday it is closing the US Agency for International Development (USAID) after the Trump administration prevailed in a federal court case challenging the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) cost-cutting actions.
“Foreign assistance done right can advance our national interests, protect our borders, and strengthen our partnerships with key allies. Unfortunately, USAID strayed from its original mission long ago. As a result, the gains were too few and the costs were too high,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in a statement.
Ex-DOGE official Jeremy Lewin announced USAID’s shuttering in an internal memo earlier Friday — and said the State Department “intends to assume

Ukraine will not agree to any deal over its minerals with the U.S. if it endangers Kyiv's aspirations to join the European Union, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.
Newsweek has contacted the White House via email for comment.
Why It Matters
Zelensky would only agree to a minerals deal that could give his country security guarantees against Russian aggression, but these have not been forthcoming and an agreement that could compromise EU membership adds a further snag.
What To Know
The Ukrainian president told a press briefing on Friday that Kyiv had received a draft agreement on its valuable resources from the U.S.
But a Ukrainian media outlet said the deal may go against

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Saturday that Russia's response to US ceasefire efforts had been inadequate "for too long", and that Moscow needed to be pressured into a peace deal. Both Moscow and Kyiv agreed to the concept of a Black Sea truce following talks with US officials earlier this week, but Russia said it would not enter into force until the West lifted certain sanctions. "For too long now, America's proposal for an unconditional ceasefire has been on the table without an adequate response from Russia," Zelensky said in his evening address.
"There could already be a ceasefire if there was real pressure on Russia,"

British police have been accused of acting in a “Kafkaesque” manner after they arrested the parents of a nine-year-old girl over complaints they made about her primary school on WhatsApp.
Following a five week investigation, in January, Hertfordshire Police arrested Maxie Allen and Rosalind Levin in front of their daughter and placed in cell on suspicion of malicious communications, harassment, and causing a nuisance on school property over comments they made online about the Cowley Hill Primary School in Borehamwood, The Times of London reported on Saturday.
The dispute between the couple and the school is said to have began in May of 2024 when Allen questioned the process

“This is NPR.”
Unfortunately for National Public Radio, that proved all too true this week. In one of the most cringeworthy appearances in Congress, Katherine Maher imploded in a House hearing on the public funding of the liberal radio outlet.
By the end of her series of contradictions and admissions, Maher had made the definitive case for ending public funding for NPR and state-subsidized media.
Many of us have written for years about the biased reporting at NPR. Not all of this criticism was made out of hostility toward the outlet — many honestly wanted NPR to reverse course and adopt more balanced coverage. That is why,

It was the perfect opening. Politically, it was the equivalent of grilling a big, fat, juicy steak in the middle of the African savannah — and then being mystified by the sudden appearance of drooling predators.
C’mon, folks — use your heads! With a power vacuum that big and that tempting, it was only a matter of time.
The Democratic Party is in total disarray. Nobody’s in charge! The Obama-Biden cabal has left the building, Pelosi has health issues, and Schumer is struggling to stave off a rebellion. It’s complete and utter chaos.

This Bret Baier sit-down with the entire DOGE team, fearless leader and all, is really something to behold. All I can say is it's a shame there's not another venue besides Fox because it will also be ignored because of Fox and the ideological purity of the opposition.
What a tragedy that is, for surely among those who reflexively scoff, there are a few who still retain some reasoning faculties that could be activated if only one's information can access them.
The entire thirty minutes is here when you have time. But I want to hit the highlights if you haven't seen them, so that you're aware, amazed at

Late last night, President Trump signed an executive order "to end collective bargaining with Federal unions" at more than two dozen government agencies. In theory this puts an end to collective bargaining for more than half of all federal workers.
President Donald Trump signed an executive order Thursday evening abolishing union rights at more than two dozen federal agencies and offices, in a major expansion of the administration’s efforts to shrink the federal government.
The White House cited national security concerns for terminating workers’ ability to bargain collectively, but the order applies at agencies with both direct and indirect links to national security.
