Unemployment Ticks Up, Jobs Disappoint
Slightly, DOGE Cuts Working

Original Article

The U.S. labor market added 151,000 jobs in February, a modest acceleration from the 143,000 jobs gained in January but short of the 160,000 economists had forecast. The unemployment rate edged up to 4.1 percent, defying expectations that it would hold steady at 4.0 percent. The February report underscores a labor market that remains resilient but is showing signs of cooling. Recent data had pointed to a slowdown, including weaker-than-expected private payrolls growth in the ADP employment report and indications of softening consumer spending. However, weekly jobless claims remain low, suggesting that layoffs have yet to rise meaningfully.Elon Musk’s team at DOGE is having an impact.

We are getting lots of people off the government payroll, so it will take a minute for them to find gainful employment again. It would be natural for unemployment to go up a bit.

With all these thousands of jobs being cut, of course unemployment will rise. How can it not?

Here in the People's Republic of Maryland, the wailing from the media and federal employees about Musk and the firing of federal workers is just unbelievable. The entitlement that is displayed by the media and fed workers is just over the top. Every local news station is wailing about the loss of experienced workers and the diminished service people will experience from the loss of these federal workers. Meanwhile, several counties have begun having job fairs for these federal workers which mean higher taxes in an already high tax state to cover the cost of hiring these people who once again produce nothing of value.

Tarik Johnson resigned from the US Capitol Police after more than 23 years of service after the events at our Capitol on January 6th. He previously appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight on FOX News to tell portions of his story. Federal intel and law enforcement agencies knew about the warnings of a massive disturbance at the Capitol on Jan. 6, days before the event. But Speaker Pelosi refused to call in the National Guard days before the protests as President Trump requested. It was Pelosi who left the US Capitol vulnerable and put tens of thousands of Trump supporters in danger by her actions. Frontline officers on duty that day

Ex-Georgia House Rep. Stacey Abrams said this week that she received $2 billion from Former President Joe Biden’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to greenwash home appliances in what some have likened to an alleged Democratic “vote buying” scheme. EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin recently revealed that the Biden-era EPA passed through $20 billion in “gold bars,” or grants, to leftist groups. The Abrams-linked Power Forward Communities received $2 billion as part of these grants, a sum amounting to “20 million times the organization’s reported revenue,” according to the EPA.

President Donald Trump on Saturday, as Sarah covered earlier, came out in favor of a continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government through September. Not only is this an important measure to prevent a government shutdown, but it will also help Republicans get to reinforcing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) through legislation. As Townhall has been covering for months, Democrats have been relentlessly attacking Trump, DOGE, and Elon Musk.

There are few things lower than harassing an innocent child, but a group of pro-Ukraine protesters angry at Vice-President JD Vance crossed that line today. Vance revealed on X Saturday afternoon that while he was enjoying a walk with his three-year-old daughter, these protesters decided to stalk them and shout at his little girl. Their sick antics understandably terrified her. “Today while walking my 3-year-old daughter a group of ‘Slava Ukraini’ protesters followed us around and shouted as my daughter grew increasingly anxious and scared,” Vance wrote.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom refuses to protect women’s sports just days after he claimed it was “unfair” for men to play in women’s sports. In a podcast featuring Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk, Newsom said men in women’s sports are “unfair” but did not answer Kirk’s question as to whether men should be prohibited. Newsom then suggested that there needs to be a way to balance fairness with the mental health of these young men, otherwise they might “commit suicide.” “There’s also a humility and a grace. The judge won a modified victory in the Supreme Court, which opted not to stop him from trying to force the Trump administration to spend money that it has currently paused. In a dissent expressing shock and dismay that the court is letting Ali proceed on his current course,

The Environmental Protection Agency has no ability to track or conduct oversight of more than $650 million in taxpayer funds that a Biden-backed green group wired to dozens of credit union accounts last month, the agency told the Washington Free Beacon. In mid-February, the New York-based eco group Inclusiv—which received $1.9 billion last year as part of the EPA's $27 billion Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund program—transferred $651 million to 108 credit unions across 27 states and Puerto Rico. The group said the credit unions would use the funding to offer financing for green energy projects such as solar installations and electric vehicle chargers within their jurisdictions.
