The Department of Homeland Security has ended the collective bargaining agreement covering some 47,000 Transportation Security Administration employees.
Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced it is ending collective bargaining for the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) Transportation Security Officers, which has constrained TSA’s chief mission: to safeguard our transportation systems and keep Americans safe.
Eliminating collective bargaining removes bureaucratic hurdles that will strengthen workforce agility enhance productivity and resiliency, while also jumpstarting innovation.

I never understood why there were Federal goobernment employees that could unionize. Please have a Convention of States and pass an amendment that ends all federal goobernment employees. Don't want a goobernment job, get a non goobernment job with a un ion. See how that works out for you during the next Covid Democrat shutdown. No vacation with full pay and benefits like a goobernment employee enjoys.

A bunch of DEI employees all controlled by a union to make air travel even more unpleasant and difficult. What could go wrong?

Good start. Now privatize airport security so the onus is on the airport. That will leave TSA with only an oversight role. Since it was established post-9/11, TSA has been both oversight AND responsible for security (manned with surly civil servant morons). Allow the private sector to devise more effective and efficient airport security than the lousy job TSA has been doing for the past two decades.

You can thank none other than Sen. John McCain (aka "McVain) for the disaster known as "TSA." It was nothing but a knee-jerk reaction to the 9-11 attacks that popped out of his head one morning. It's another classic case of, "When the Federal Government fails to function properly, resulting in the most deadly and costly attack the American mainland, since the War of 1812, then what can prevent the next attack other than MORE Federal Government?"
TSA was created specifically as a NON-UNION entity, but after several years into the job, under Obama (2011), guess what? Their employees called for collective-bargaining rights, and received ZERO pushback from the Congresspukes who created them!
In closing, after all of the 9-11 investigations, those third-party, private security firms hired by airlines and America's airport owners (i.e. municiple governments), did absolutely NOTHING wrong that fateful morning... NOTHING. They followed "The Book" given to them to follow regarding allowable knives, no-fly lists, etc. And just who created "The Book" they referenced, why, none other than the Federal Government!
Sen. John "Songbird" McCain remains the 'poster child' for everything that's bad in DC, especially in the Republican Party.

When the TSA was allowed to unionize and bargain with the government...they took over and because their union was pro-democratic...they could be counted on for "the vote" when needed...like in 2024...unions serve a purpose...but the rank and file rarely have a voice when it comes to who to vote for...except the auto workers...who said...kiss my grits...and voted against their union big shots...and went for President Trump....

And here you see the ACTUAL reason the Democrats are upset over trimming down the federal work force. That's thousands of union dues no longer being funneled to Democrat campaign coffer regardless of whether or not the union member is a Democrat.

Remember when flying was fun, with lovely snacks in the airport ‘frequent flyer lounge’… or going upstairs to the first class buffet in a huge 747!
We would take a box of yummy See’s lollipops as a ‘boarding gift’ for the friendly crew.
Switzerland was the most beautiful, looking over Lake Geneva at dusk, into France… Shopping in the nearby Virgin Islands was lovely too, or all the lovely silver stores in Mexico.
Family and dear Yorkie pup are here, so pray to never need to fly anywhere again.
