Trump DOJ fires 20 Biden immigration judges

The Trump administration has canned 20 “midnight” immigration judges the Biden administration tried to shoehorn onto the courts in its final days, The Washington Times has learned. Thirteen judges hired in late December and early January were ousted Friday, a Justice Department source said. Seven assistant chief immigration judges were also axed. The housecleaning matches one the Biden administration did when it took office in 2021, clearing out many Trump picks from the immigration courts. Among the new firings, according to the department source, was Kerry Doyle. She had been a critic of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement before she was appointed to be ICE’s principal legal adviser.

No doubt they are leftist and progressive Democrat lawyers who no doubt would sabotage immigration law enforcement by cutting loose as many illegal aliens as possible into the USA.

fta: Immigration judges are not part of the regular courts. Rather, they’re employees of EOIR. The ousted judges hadn’t been through training or heard any cases.

Newly appointed Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth claims his family was targeted by the outgoing Biden administration with an audit from the IRS. “Of course the outgoing Biden IRS rushed an ‘audit’ of the incoming SecDef. Total sham,” Hegseth wrote on his official X account Monday, including a photo of an IRS document addressed to him and his wife. The document said the couple owes the government $33,558.16, which needs to be paid immediately to avoid further penalties. UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer declared his willingness to deploy British troops to Ukraine “in harm’s way” to deter Russian aggression hours before he is set to join an ’emergency summit’ on the matter in Paris on Monday. The United States and Russia are meeting to discuss the Ukraine war in Saudi Arabia this week, but European leaders have not been invited to send delegations. Apparently prompted by being left behind in this regard, and likely too by the Trump White House’s suggestion that European nations actually decide what they are actually capable of doing on Ukraine, European leaders are meeting in Paris today for an “emergency summit”.

President Donald Trump has been forced to take his fight to the U.S. Supreme Court after an Obama-appointed judge reinstated Hampton Dellinger, a Biden-era bureaucrat, as head of the Office of Special Counsel. This latest legal battle comes after a series of judicial oversteps by the activist judiciary. Last Friday, President Trump exercised his constitutional duty to dismiss Dellinger from his position at the Office of Special Counsel, an agency tasked with safeguarding federal whistleblowers. Rather than accept his removal, Dellinger filed a lawsuit to reclaim his job.

Then, 60 Minutes decided to produce a segment about Germany waging a total war on freedom of speech, taking offenders away…on a train ride. Parts of the Northeast and mid-Atlantic could be in for their biggest snowstorm of the season later this week if all the pieces come together, according to the FOX Forecast Center. Confidence is increasing, with computer forecast models showing an impactful winter storm developing in the Plains and tracking across the central and eastern US. However, uncertainty remains about the system’s exact track and what the impacts will be for those along the heavily populated Interstate 95 corridor. The energy for this storm moves out of the Rockies and into the Plains on Monday before heading east.

The panic that gripped Europe’s political elites after J.D. Vance delivered some overdue home truths in Munich found expression back home in the most embarrassing question ever asked by a network anchor. Our vice president had accused smug Eurocrats at the Munich Security Conference of abandoning free speech and allowing unchecked migration to roil their countries, warned them to respect their voters and told them America should not bear the primary burden of funding Europe’s security. “If you’re running in fear of your own voters, there is nothing America can do for you. Nor, for that matter, is there anything that you can do for the American people who

Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove just delivered a civics lesson to a now-former top New York prosecutor who was apparently confused about who she worked for. It all began when Bove, as authorized by Attorney General Pam Bondi, directed Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York Danielle Sassoon to dismiss the federal indictment against New York City Mayor Eric Adams. The Biden Justice Department had indicted Adams on a somewhat questionable bribery charge after he had voiced public criticism of President Biden’s policies on illegal immigration.

The Trump administration wants the Supreme Court to permit the firing of the head of the federal agency dedicated to protecting whistleblowers, according to documents obtained Sunday that would mark the first appeal to the justices since President Donald Trump took office. The emergency appeal is the start of what probably will be a steady stream from lawyers for the Republican president and his administration seeking to undo lower court rulings that have slowed his second term agenda. The unusual deal would have granted the United States a 50 percent interest in all of Ukraine’s mineral resources, including graphite, lithium and uranium, as compensation for past and future support in Kyiv’s war effort against Russian invaders, according to two European officials. A Ukrainian official and an energy expert briefed on the proposal said that the Trump administration also sought Ukrainian energy resources.

In determining citizenship, the United States has a very unusual approach. You’re a citizen if you were born here. (You’re also a citizen if you were born abroad under certain circumstances, but that’s a different issue.) That’s a bit crazy, because it means that if a woman (aren’t you glad we don’t have to refer to them as “child-birthing persons” anymore?) makes it into the United States, legally or illegally, in time to give birth – right on the north bank of the Rio Grande, for example – her baby is an American citizen. The mother doesn’t magically become an American citizen by giving birth in America,
