The loudly announced policy of the new Trump Administration is for the US to regain global “energy dominance.” Most of us would first think, “drill Baby, drill,” so that we can increase our exports of liquified natural gas (LNG). However, there is another energy source that the new administration should encourage, and that is nuclear power. But if the public thinks that means that American citizens working for American companies can now build a complete nuclear power plant either in the US or abroad, they should think again—we can’t. The federal judge who suggested Trump administration officials could face criminal contempt over the spending freeze on Monday is a Democrat donor.
John J. McConnell, Jr., chief judge of the U.S. district court in Rhode Island, ordered the Trump administration to “immediately restore frozen funding” after determining officials violated his prior restraining order and suggesting further opposition could result in criminal charges.
McConnell cited a 1975 case that states, “Persons who make private determinations of the law and refuse to obey an order generally risk criminal contempt even if the order is ultimately ruled incorrect.”

Yesterday, federal judge Paul Engelmayer, a Democrat, issued a temporary restraining order barring the Trump administration from getting access to its own Treasury Department’s documents. The injunction applies to all political appointees, which includes the Secretary of the Treasury. It was issued ex parte, which means the government was not even heard in opposition.
Judge-shopping is pretty much universal in politically-charged cases. We can expect much more of this: Democrats will bring lawsuits in front of friendly judges, seeking to enjoin various actions by the nascent Trump administration. In most cases, those orders (like the one just issued by Engelmayer) will be reversed on appeal, but that is acceptable

President Trump has issued an executive order that, in various ways, seeks to prevent men from competing on women’s sports teams. The state of California has announced that it will not abide by Trump’s executive order, and will continue to allow men in women’s sports. That has gotten quite a bit of publicity; what is less well known is that the Minnesota State High School League has said the same thing.
MSHSL says that the state’s human rights law, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of “gender identity,” governs, and it requires “trans” women (i.e., men) to be allowed into women’s sports. Of course, that doesn’t follow from the anti-discrimination

Of all the things I loathe about the Democrat party, its celebration of victimhood takes the cake. As is true of all political parties infected with virulent Marxism, it does not seek to help those truly in need. It does the opposite. It seeks out people who might never have seen themselves as victims and convinces them otherwise. It is a party whose growth in membership is directly proportional to Democrats’ capacity to convert Americans into victims.
Once a person understands Democrats’ pathological need to harvest new victims, it becomes obvious that they are not in the business of solving problems.

The FBI has uncovered 2,400 new records about President John F. Kennedy’s assassination following President Trump’s order to release the secret files, according to reports.

The move from U.S. District Judge John McConnell comes in a case brought by a group of 22 states and the District of Columbia challenging the legality of a memo based on President Trump's executive orders and issued by the Office of Management and Budget last month, which directed federal agencies to temporarily pause grants, loans or federal assistance programs.
