Embattled Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass made her big play this week to rebuild Pacific Palisades in her own image. Needless to say, it won't be pretty.
During what the Los Angeles Times called "a freewheeling half-hour walking tour in Pacific Palisades," with reporters and "chief recovery officer" and former LAPD commissioner Steve Soboroff, Bass announced that the city plans to hire "an outside consultant to handle a significant rebuilding contract for areas devastated by this month’s Palisades fire," as the Times put it.
“They’re going to represent you and make sure that everybody does exactly what they say they’re going to do,” Soboroff told reporters.
Pacific Palisades residents were not

President Trump’s no-nonsense border czar Tom Homan delivered a verbal haymaker on MSNBC’s Joy Reid, going after the liberal commentator on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime” Tuesday night in spectacular fashion.
Watters queued up a clip of the far-left activist news commentator grousing on her nightly show about the Trump administration’s sweeping nationwide immigration raids, which Reid dismissed as “performative.”
New York Attorney General Letitia James, who was Reid’s guest that night, called the government “reckless” for the raids, which have so far snared more than 4,500 violent criminals including convicted murderers, gang members and kidnappers.

Jim Acosta issued a bitter final diatribe as he confirmed that he is quitting CNN after being booted out of his prime slot.
Concluding his CNN Newsroom show just before 11am ET Tuesday, Costa, 53, looked directly into the camera and said: 'One final message - don't give in to the lies.
'Don't give in to the fear. Hold on to the truth and to hope,' he continued, eventually calling Donald Trump 'a tyrant'.
'Even if you have to get out your phone,' he went on. 'Record that message. "I will not give in to the lies. I will not give in to the fear." Post it on your social media,

CNN anchor Jim Acosta and Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul expressed outrage on Monday about Dr. Phil’s involvement in a Chicago Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid.
Dr. Phil was filmed questioning an alleged illegal Thai national alongside ICE officers during the late Sunday night operation, where he joined border czar Tom Homan. Raoul, on “CNN Newsroom with Jim Acosta,” said Dr. Phil’s participation was “adverse to the First Amendment,” while Acosta raised concerns about the popular television host gaining “access” to the raid. (Snip) “You mentioned Dr. Phil, the daytime talk show host. I did want to ask you about that because he is now apparently joining in

Wake up, New York! Did you pay attention to the Trump trials? Did you realize how your rights as a citizen have been abrogated by the New York legal system? Please read the post-trial Trump jury charge and watch the New York juror orientation video.
In past years, Chief Judge Judith Kaye’s orientation video depicted the 1735 John Peter Zenger case, which New York schoolkids learned about in pre-woke days. That video told jurors of our inalienable right to find a defendant not guilty if jurors thought the law in the case was immoral, wrong, wrongly applied, or just plain unjust. Jurors could nullify

As the tide of totalitarian wokeness recedes from the swamp, some of its ugliest and most toxic creatures will find refuge as employees or grantees of tax-exempt nonprofits. In our pluralist and democratic society, we must, to some degree, tolerate organizations with intolerant, inhuman, or wicked purposes, not least because we should have the intellectual humility not to judge every cause on our present knowledge. Who knows what valuable chemotherapy will come from the poison mushroom the Sierra Club is fighting to save?
True, we need, or at any rate must suffer, the plague of foundations—for fear of an unhealthy political monoculture in which our own miscues and misdeeds go unchallenged.

The ‘Palestinians’ were a made-up people invented by Soviet propagandists during the Cold War. In reality, they’re Arab Muslim settlers, many of whom moved to Israel not that long ago. For example, the al-Husayni clan, who gave us Hitler’s Mufti and much of the ‘Palestinian’ Jihadist elite, moved to Israel in the 18th century. Yasser Arafat, the godfather of ‘Palestinianism’, came out of Egypt.
A Hamas leader even admitted that they’re mostly Egyptians. (X) Why not have them move back to Egypt?
Questioned about his earlier Saturday call with Jordan’s Abdullah II, Trump said he had asked the king to take additional Palestinians into his country.

Joe Biden left the White House a week ago, but the scandal surrounding his mental health is only deepening.
On his way out the door, the former president signed a series of pardons at the ACLU's request. Billed as applying to "non-violent drug offenders" (which is an insanely broad generalization), they ended up including a drug lord who murdered an eight-year-old boy and his mother to stop them from testifying. Adrian Peeler is now set to be released in July. (X) "Relatives of an 8-year-old boy and his mother who were murdered by a Connecticut drug gang are outraged that a man convicted in the killings

The late Jimmy Carter didn’t come up spontaneously with the idea of giving away the Panama Canal, which America spent blood and gold on and which is an essential part of its national security. Instead, he had Robert A. Pastor, a communist, whispering in his ear.
A globalist who desired to merge incrementally the U.S., Mexico, and Canada into a “North American Union” (NAU) along the model of the European Union, Pastor’s intellectual development was rooted in Marxism. Pastor played an instrumental role in the Carter administration’s decision to relinquish control of the Panama Canal.

“I fear that you will get more violence,” said Sen. Lindsay Graham on “Meet the Press” this Sunday. “Pardoning the people who went into the Capitol and beat up a police officer violently I think it was a mistake.”
In so saying, Graham, like so many pundits on the Right, showed how little he knows about what transpired on January 6, 2021, and during the four years afterward. In truth, the one thing all J6ers have in common, including the allegedly violent ones, is that they had no more chance at securing justice in Joe Biden’s D.C. than the Scottsboro Boys had in Jim Crow Alabama.

After four years with a mumbling fool stumbling around in the role of “president,” we have a strong communicator back in the White House. The difference is striking. While President Trump was simultaneously signing executive orders and answering questions from the press on his first day back on the job, he suggested to those in attendance that he might have taken more questions in those first few hours than Joe Biden had taken during all four years in office. The assembled journalists seemed to quietly concur. Joe’s handlers spent every minute protecting him from even the most trivial journalistic inquiries; President Trump handles hostile questions

Pete Hegseth was finally confirmed as Defense Secretary on Friday evening, but not before Democrats and their RINO allies tried their best to derail his confirmation by dusting off the old playbook they used on Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
As PJ Media reported earlier this week, a convenient eleventh-hour accusation emerged from Danielle Hegseth Dietrich, the ex-wife of our new Secretary of Defense’s brother, who claimed that Pete Hegseth had abused his former wife, Samantha Deering. According to Danielle Dietrich's dubious affidavit, Deering allegedly "feared for her life," and was forced to hide in a closet to escape Hegseth's supposed fury.
