Hedge fund manager Scott Bessent — who has vowed to crack down on off-the-rails federal spending and help avert a “crushing $4 trillion tax hike” on Americans by year’s end — was confirmed as President Trump’s Treasury secretary on Monday. The Senate approved Bessent in a bipartisan, 68-29 vote, setting the 62-year-old up to oversee the IRS and take stock of the nation’s finances. The founder of Key Square Group had cleared the Senate Finance Committee last week in a 16-11 vote, backed by Sens. Mark Warner (D-Va.) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH) as well as every Republican on the panel.

Government spending per se is not the issue. It is necessary for a full functioning modern state. Ideologically driven and often deliberately wasteful spending should be the target. Almost anything will be an improvement over what has been going on. Between Bessent and Musk we should be able to better address it.

Sounds like a good appointment...can't say I know much about this move...but if Elon Musk is involved then I'm for it....he loves to win...just like President Trump....it's gotten to the point I don't even feel sorry for the snow flakes who cry and stammer on the television fake news....just like a football team that loses...they should take a hot shower and get ready for next season....part of being a grownup is knowing when it's time to go back to the locker room...

A report from ABC7 in Chicago reported that a magistrate judge ordered the release of a Venezuelan man who was arrested in a targeted enforcement operation over the weekend. Over the weekend, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers, along with other federal agencies, carried out a targeted enforcement operation, Breitbart News reported. The actions were overseen by top officials of the Trump administration, including Border Czar Tom Homan. According to the report from ABC7, law enforcement officials placed Edward Martinez-Cermeno, 24, into custody on Sunday for illegally entering the United States near Eagle Pass, Texas in 2023.
FEMA Fraud: Scam Artists Pose as Fire

Fraudsters have been applying for aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the recent California wildfires, filling in addresses within the burn zone before the actual residents can claim their relief. Many residents of the Pacific Palisades, several of whom have been in contact with Breitbart News, report that when they applied for aid through the FEMA website, they reached a screen that said “Duplicate Application.” The result is that potentially thousands of people who desperately need cash — to pay for alternative accommodation, or simply to buy food and clothes — are unable to receive what FEMA has offered them. The scam is relatively simple.

Former Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “The Reid Out” that Republicans were making it “safe to discriminate” by going after DEI. Abrams said, “While Donald Trump may be the avatar, he’s not an outlier as long as the rest of the Republican Party suborn what is happening. Whether it’s Stephen Miller at the podium or a U.S. senator they are all agreeing to the premise of Project 2025. Which is they want to hoard opportunity and legalize discrimination. We have spent 248 years as a nation undoing our original sins, which include slavery, silencing women, denying native Americans their citizenship a whole host of challenges.

The Pentagon will investigate former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said on Wednesday. Secretary Hegseth already revoked Milley’s security detail and security clearance. Joe Biden pardoned Tony Fauci, General Mark Milley, and the entire J6 Select Committee of liars in his final act as president. However, a presidential pardon won’t stop the Pentagon from conducting a review of Milley’s conduct to see if he should be demoted. “Hegseth, whose first day at the Pentagon was Monday, directed the Defense Department’s inspector general to look into “the facts and circumstances” surrounding Milley’s conduct

President Donald Trump has signed into law the first bill of his second term, and it's the one piece of legislation that Congressional Republicans had targeted to land on his desk as quickly as possible upon his return to the White House: the Laken Riley Act. In an emotional ceremony in the White House East Room, Trump, joined by Laken's mother, sister and stepfather, signed the bill into law, saying, "We're going to sign this in honor of Laken Riley." Trump called on the bill sponsors, Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) and Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA), to join him at the signing desk.

As leftists are wont to do, Miss Gomez was weeping for "the children." We were also treated to the delightful spectacle of the border czar telling Miss Gomez precisely what she could do with her crocodile tears. Noem told Cain that DHS had: stopped all grant funding that is being abused by NGOs to facilitate illegal immigration into this country. So, it's amazing to me the hundreds of millions of dollars that have spent by the federal government, that has been sent to NGOs to facilitate this invasion of our country. When a political party loses a major election, post-mortems quickly turn into doubling down, and the Democratic Party has traveled that predictable path in record time since getting gut-punched in November. For about a week following the election of now-President Donald Trump, there were some rumblings that a course correction might take place. A few Democrats even spoke openly about backing away from transgender ideology and attempting to reconnect with the working class. That was never going to happen, though, and sure enough, the party's members are back to being the lunatics we know all too well.

As we wrote earlier, the Senate Finance Committee held a confirmation hearing for Secretary of Health and Human Services nominee Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Wednesday. The Portland police chief is brazenly defying federal authorities and refusing to cooperate with Donald Trump and Tom Homan’s plan for deporting illegal alien criminals. Sounds as if it’s time for the feds to investigate and perhaps arrest the police chief. Portland police chief Bob Day issued a community letter on Jan. 28, proudly affirming Portland’s unconstitutional sanctuary city policies, announcing his determination to flout federal law enforcement arresting criminal illegal aliens, and therefore publicizing as much as possible his corruption and illegal activities. Considering that ICE is currently focused on deporting the most dangerous illegal alien criminals, including murderers and child rapists, this begs the question

In 2022, states received $189 billion in funding for primary and secondary schools. The funding was supposed to go to programs that would allow kids to make up for the lost learning they were forced to experience during the pandemic. Standardized test scores had fallen to levels not seen in forty years or more. The infusion of cash would, as the Biden administration promised, help kids catch up. The most closely watched standardized test for primary and secondary school children is the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). It's called "The Nation's Report Card" because more students take this test than any other standardized test.

WASHINGTON - Americans have a dim view of some of President Donald Trump's early barrage of executive orders, including his attempt to do away with so-called birthright citizenship and his decision to rename the Gulf of Mexico, a Reuters/Ipsos poll found. Since taking office on Jan. 20, the Republican president has moved quickly to crack down on immigration and scale back the size of government, efforts that respondents to the three-day poll that closed on Sunday look on more favorably. Overall, the poll showed 45% of Americans approve of Trump's performance as president, down slightly

In the Golden Age of Hollywood, studios kept a tight leash on their stars. No matter how bizarre, debauched, or anti-American the star was, the studio publicity departments ensured that the people who paid for movie tickets saw the stars as wholesome, intelligent, and patriotic. After the debacle of Rachel Zegler’s solo press appearances for the new Snow White movie, one might think that Disney had learned that its actors aren’t safe when left to play on their own. But, noooo. This time, Anthony Mackie, the star of Disney’s newest Captain America movie, let the world know that he has nothing but disdain for America.
