Democrats’ hopes of defeating any of President-elect Trump’s Cabinet nominees appear to be fizzling as Senate committees prepare for the first week of hearings.
Senate Democrats have yet to reveal more evidence to back up the allegations against Pete Hegseth, Trump’s pick to head the Pentagon, and a recently completed FBI background check isn’t moving the needle on that nominee.Only Senate Armed Services Committee Chair Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) and Sen. Jack Reed (R.I.), the ranking Democrat on the panel, have been able to review the report thus far, which hasn’t yet caused any serious political reverberations.

Pete Hegseth, President Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Defense, is facing a relentless smear campaign that ranges from the petty to the absurd. Chief among these efforts are allegations from a disgruntled former employee of Concerned Veterans for America (CVA), where Hegseth served as CEO—claims that lack credibility and have resurfaced years after her brief tenure.
Meanwhile, critics have seized on other manufactured controversies, including Hegseth’s Christian tattoo, which has been assailed as extremist. This attack on his faith—and on traditional Christian imagery—reveals a deep hypocrisy, as such scrutiny would never be applied to other religious traditions. But these efforts to discredit Hegseth obscure the larger issue:

On Saturday, California Governor Gavin Newsom made the ill-conceived decision to appear in studio on Pod Save America, a podcast hosted by former Barack Obama staffers. It was a bizarre move to make while large parts of Los Angeles County are still burning. As I mentioned previously, he threw local officials under the bus while presenting himself as an innocent bystander amid a string of government failures. Apparently no one in charge cares more about containing the fires than making sure someone else gets blamed for it. But, even worse, the podcast hosts took the opportunity to solicit donations,

To their enemies, the Jews cannot do anything right. They are hated when they are strong; they are hated when they are weak. They are hated when they are poor; they are hated when they are rich. They are hated when they win; they are hated when they lose.
How this unfounded, blatantly anti-Semitic blaming of innocent Jews arose is difficult to fathom -- particularly as the traditional custodians and purveyors of Judeo-Christian moral-ethical precepts are, in fact, the Jews. It is their principles -- the Judeo-Christian values -- that underpin Western Civilization...
Even after the unspeakable events in Israel of October 7, 2023, with the slaughter of more than 1,200 innocents,

Oy veh — it’s gonna get mashugana out there.
In the waning days of the Biden administration (which also coincides with the waning days of Joe Biden), a few uncomfortable truths have emerged. First, Biden is destined to be remembered as one of the least consequential presidents in American history. His tenure was a speed bump -- a thin slice of bologna that’s sandwiched between the two Trump terms. For a guy like Biden, who so clearly covets adulation, recognition, and public praise, that’s gotta sting.
Two, it’s now apparent that Biden’s presidency coincided with a national realignment. The public has changed.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Sunday tried to play semantics and weasel out of blame by saying state reservoirs were “completely full” when the LA fires broke out — even though a county-run reservoir had been drained at the time.
Newsom made the shocking statement while addressing criticism from President-elect Donald Trump over the state’s water management ahead of the infernos.
“The reservoirs are completely full — the state reservoirs here in Southern California. That mis- and disinformation I don’t think advantages or aids any of us,” Newsom told NBC News in a pretaped interview that aired on “Meet the Press” on Sunday.

No, Mark Zuckerberg doesn’t get to go on Joe Rogan’s podcast and pretend he’s a free speech champion as if there were nothing he could have done to stop the censorship at Facebook that rigged the 2020 election and probably cost lives during the pandemic.
The wanksta-lite makeover can’t hide Zuck’s sins, from throttling The Post’s Hunter Biden laptop story before the 2020 election to deplatforming a sitting president, Donald Trump, to suppressing COVID-19 dissent.
No matter how many “Iron Neck” workouts he does in an attempt to de-nerd himself, the billionaire tech titan will always be a spineless coward whose monopoly needs to be broken up.

Vice President Kamala Harris took aim at insurance companies during a press conference Thursday regarding the tragic, overwhelming wildfires in the Los Angeles region that broke out Tuesday, killing at least 10, destroying thousands of structures and displacing tens of thousands from their homes. The implication from her statement is that some companies abandoned their obligations and canceled policies even as the devastation was unfolding.
Spokesfolks for the insurance industry are clapping back at the VP, though, and telling her that she’s ill-informed and is spreading misinformation:

The moment any kind of natural disaster happens, Democrats immediately begin screaming about climate change. Of all the boogiemen the left has in their closet of scary monsters, "climate change" is arguably their most successful as it's allowed the left to use it as a way to frighten people into voting for them, and allowed them to manipulated billions and billions of dollars to their liking. With the California wildfires raging around LA, you can bet the Democrats immediately pointed to climate change as the culprit.
Is it? Did the fires start because of the prophesied coming of mother nature's retribution for humanity's hubris and abuse of the planet?

Former President Barack Obama and President-elect Donald Trump had what appeared to be a warm conversation Thursday ahead of former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral, but a professional lip reader told The Post their smiles and laughter belied more serious substance.
Trump, 78, possibly wary of cameras facing the pair as they sat shoulder to shoulder, cautioned Obama, 63, that they would have to “find a quiet place” later in the day to discuss a “matter of importance,” according to forensic lip reader Jeremy Freeman.
It’s unclear what precisely that conversation would entail, but Freeman’s translation indicated that Obama and Trump may have been discussing international agreements.

Actor Mel Gibson and podcaster Joe Rogan ripped into California Governor Gavin Newsom for being unprepared to handle the wildfires tearing through Los Angeles.
“The Patriot” actor, 69, appeared on the “Joe Rogan Experience” Thursday, and the two were quick to point out that the Golden State spent billions of taxpayers’ money on homelessness but claimed the state spent “zip” on measures that could have helped prevent the wildfires.
“We were just talking about the wildfire situation and how crazy it is that they spent $24 billion dollars last year on the homeless, and what did they spend on preventing these wildfires?” Rogan, 57, asked.

"[M]edia freedoms" have never existed under the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank and Hamas in the Gaza Strip. For many years, the two parties have been imposing restrictions on Palestinian journalists, including a ban on criticizing PA and Hamas leaders. Palestinian journalists and activists who dared to speak out against the PA or Hamas found themselves incarcerated, and sometimes dead.
The silence of the international community and the so-called "pro-Palestinian" activists on the university campuses in the US and across the West has only encouraged the PA to dismiss launching an investigation into the killing of al-Sabbagh.
