Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) claimed Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that President-elect Donald Trump was politicizing wildfires in Southern California.
Reporter Jacob Soboroff asked, “President-elect Trump has blamed you for this crisis. He’s called you incompetent. What’s your response?”Newsom said, “Well, I called for him to come out, take a look for himself. We want to do it in the spirit of an open hand, not a closed fist. He’s the president-elect. I respect the office. We have a president of the United States that within 36 hours provided a major disaster declaration over a text.

Newsom twisting in the wildfire wind. His hands are covered in soot and he knows that accountability is about to come calling for him.

Hair Gel Boy is wetting his diapers.
He knows that in no way will Kalifornia get one penny from President Trump - - unless he, the mayor, the fire dykes, and the water commissioner resign.
It's all over, Brylcreem Boy. And another spray of hair mousse won't help.

More and more with each passing day I’m thinking that this disaster was planned to be executed, on purpose, for the right time like giving a new president the swamp doesn’t want something that’ll consume a good chunk of his time, and then assign all the blame to him when he doesn’t solve the problem soon enough to suit them.

Your MSM can no longer protect you. They have lost all credibility. You have a lot more squirming to do. Should be fun to watch.

"We had support from the President of the United States, Joe Biden, with 100% reimbursement, all the resources you could hope for, imagine, constant communication...."
Yup. Constant communication from the beach at St. Croix. Very proud of his new grandchild, wasn't he?

Seriously? Democrats politicize every Florida hurricane, looking for anything that they can use against DeSantis.

This filthy piece of uneducated trash was going to hold a 'Trump proofing CA' when one totally inept underling came on TV the second day of the fires. He was asked specific questions, could not answer a single one but kept stuttering.... but the Trump proofing 'meeting' of course needed to go on. Then gruesome newsom was calling anyone, including the vegetable in the WH, to stop the 'misinformation' about the fires. Well, we can all see the misinformation about fires that this piece of incompetent trash has caused Californians.

Seems to me Gruesome Newsom's slashing the state budget for fire prevention and suppression does more to put firefighters at risk than criticism of it could possibly do. And pivoting the topic to Biden's 100% reimbursement is the very kind of politicizing the matter that Newsom is condemning.

This is political. The state of California for decades has done who own everything in its power to halt any attempt to increase water supply or the ability to control fires. The people who own all of these homes that have burned to the grow have for the most part voted for this type of governing. Now the state is coming to D.C. to bail them out of their stupid decisions. Everyone in the country is going to paying for this through increased insurance premiums. I say not a penny should go to California until every stupid law that applied to their environmental global warming crap that they've passed over the last thirty years is removed or at least reviewed. These fires of this magnitude are their fault. This is not like Florida or North Carolina getting hit with a hurricane. This was mostly self-inflicted.

Pointing out and criticizing blatant, catastrophic ineptitude and failures of elected officials is NOT politicizing the issue. Oh, and Madame Bass - it's not racist either. But y'all ducked fup.

#14 mentions insurance. This will disaster will destroy most of the insurance market in California. I was a property and casualty agent for 43 years and I can assure you that they, like all corporations, are there to make money for their shareholders. When they start losing their collective a***s year after year, they will leave that market. Toss in California's not allowing rate increases for those "greedy insurance companies" and a hostile climate for business overall, and you have a recipe for a coming financial crisis. Banks won't loan money on uninsured property or car loans on uninsured cars. The "Golden State" is becoming less golden by the minute.

Blame-shifting may well work among the illegals in CA who will become dependent on government … but not with anybody who actually thinks.

#17 - On Saturday we received the cancellation notice on our home insurance. We've been with the company for 25 years. They cited our timbered area, local topography of steep hillsides, and rural dirt roads that dead end. TK has put together a package with satellite photos of our homestead showing our brush clearance, we're set away from the forest itself in a flat valley, and the acres of wild grass around the house mowed. He also details his fire suppression system which includes two agricultural rain-birds on the roof of the house, and the ones on the workshop, the solar shed, the well-house/water tank/water pump, and the propane tank.
TK also called our local fire captain, with whom he has been working for the last ten years to educate our neighbors on fire suppression. Our subdivision has twice hosted the local CALFire station's spring-time training exercise. They have designated our homestead as the "shelter in place" for firefighters should we have a fire that turns bad. We are also a certified Fire Wise Community by the National Fire Wise Council, due to our efforts clearing underbrush twenty feet from the sides of our roads, community training days, and familiarization of the three emergency escape routes that keep our main road clear for the fire trucks. Our local Fire Captain will be coming out to the house to do a formal fire inspection, and will write a letter detailing TK's commitment to fire safety community-wide.
We'll be calling our agent on Monday for an appointment. We're going to give him the package and ask his help in getting the company to re-evaluate our property, since we have mitigated all the "wild-land" fire factors of our area that they listed as their reasons for the cancellation.
