The wildfires raging in Los Angeles have led to claims that officials there have mismanaged the city's preparation for such events. President-elect Donald Trump has pointed the finger of blame at California Governor Gavin Newsom, who he says is responsible for LA's struggling water supply. Others have blamed LA Mayor Karen Bass for cutting the city's fire department budget. BBC Verify looked into the facts behind the political fallout. What has Trump claimed? I have also read today that Newsome removed $100 Million from the fire budget last year in addition to the half million Miss Mayor removed a couple of months ago. He needs The Moron to calm his dissidents? The one who doesn't know what today is? Newsome is obviously not capable for his job and it has taken 10 years for it to finally become known. Suspicioned for 10 years though if you lived in CA.

The Beeb and other leftist media can try to cover this up, but there is too much real evidence now, They can try to excuse and lie about this debacle. Gavin is toast. The people in Cali (at least most of them) have woken up. This incompetence is inexcusable. Now it's up to ten lives and billions of property destroyed. Insurance can help rebuild some homes, but who wants to be the first to have a house in a neighborhood that looks like downtown Gaza.

Speaking of insurance, assuming any company will still cover fire damage in California, I doubt only the wealthiest will be able to afford the premiums.

#3. You are right. In the at-risk areas, you will have to go to what we agents called the non-standard companies. You will be able to buy fire and wind coverage only, no theft or other coverages, but at very expensive rates. A lot of companies will pull out of the state altogether, which leaves only a few to go to. If CA should deny them any rate increases, they will leave also. This is a massive disaster that will take decades to recover from, and it can be laid at the feet of the Governor on down. They thought their green agenda was wonderful, and this has finally caught up with them.

Propaganda media circling the wagons. The media in US is toothless, no one listens to them. All they can do is whine. They have to pull in foreign liars to prop up the Californian Ineptitudes. But the facts are inconvenient things and the scale of damage is too much to be brushed under the rug. The methods to minimize wild fire damage in California have been shouted about for years; better forest management, more firefighters, better water availability for the almost certain fires that will happen. They have been ignored. Accountability is going to torpedo many dems. The voters are NOT in a forgiving mood.

The finger pointing will go on for weeks. Like participants in a circular firing squad, all of them will feel the effects because they are all guilty of Leftism, which ruins everything it touches. Those super-high salaries paid to the Lesbian fire department management didn't really pay off, did they, when everything burned to the ground? You would have seen the same result if you had NO fire department.

No amount of fact checking is going to change anybody’s mind. The blame is baked in, correct or not. The media is not going to be able to save the bacon of these politicians, greens or the management of the LAFD by laying the blame on global warming. The fault lies with the aforementioned people and their mismanagement of the basics.

Nice try BBC, you are spitting words to get the fact check you want. CA under Newsom has failed to put infrastructure in place to save rain water that they just let flow to the sea. That is the reason there is no water available to fight fires. He also cut the firefighting budget in CA which includes clearin brush etc. As far as the St Ines resivor, if it was going to be taken off line, why was there not a contingency plan put in place while it was off line? That is the job of the $750,000/year lesbian in charge of water as well as the mayor herself.l The entire democrat administration from Newsom down to the fire chief and below is responsible despite the BBC's attempt to absolve them.

WASHINGTON - President Joe Biden's administration on Friday renewed deportation relief that currently covers 900,000 immigrants from Venezuela, El Salvador, Ukraine and Sudan, a move that would delay any attempts by President-elect Donald Trump to sunset those protections. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) extended enrollment in the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) program for those nations, giving those immigrants a deportation reprieve and access to work permits for an additional 18 months. Biden, a Democrat, greatly increased the number of immigrants eligible for TPS since taking office in 2021. The status, which is available to people whose home country has
