President Joe Biden signed an executive order closing the federal government on Jan. 9 "as a mark of respect" for the late President Jimmy Carter. In his proclamation announcing the passing of the 39th president, Biden also called on the American people to pay their respects on Jan. 9, the day of Carter’s funeral. “I do further appoint January 9, 2025, as a National Day of Mourning throughout the United States,” the executive order states. “I call on the American people to assemble on that day in their respective places of worship, there to pay homage to the memory of President James Earl Carter, Jr. I invite the people

First and second place is a toss up between the current vegetable and his black mentor! LBJ is running a distant 4th place.

Carter was a terrible president and for many years was always good for a nasty comment about Republicans. I will not spend January 9th in mourning and doubt many people will show up to the capital to walk by his casket unless they are bused in by Democrats.

The 1980 and 2024 election have a lot of similarities. Both elections were thought to be close, but at the end, the Republican (Reagan, Trump) pulled away. If you add the Anderson third party vote to the Democrat, the results were much the same. Except that Carter was a good person with his faults. You can't say that about Biden or Harris.

In 1972, Harry S Truman died on 26 Dec. Less than a month later, on 22 Jan 1973, Lyndon B Johnson died. Now, THERE'S a way Biden can screw the Inauguration and go out with a bang, as it were. (In the Army during the 1972-1973, we had half-day schedule leading up to Christmas, Christmas, Truman's death, New Year's, George Washington's Day, LBJ's death AND - at Fort Bragg - a Snow Day. It would have been a great time for the USSR to attack.)

Carter was awful. How he rests in eternity, whether peacefully or not, won’t be changed one iota by what people say. He was a pompous arrogant scold who tried heartily to teach Americans to dislike ourselves as much as he disliked us. And if you weren’t alive during his presidency and want to know what it was like just turn your thermostat down to 55• in the dead of winter and when you need to fill up your gas tank park near a gas pump and wait 2-6 hours before pulling up to the pump. Do this every time you need gas for several months and know that when you do finally get the nozzle in your gas tank there is no guarantee that there will be any gas left for you. In Carter’s case the sooner he is forgotten the better for the memory of him.

President-elect Donald Trump is forcing the Democratic politicians who spent years lying about President Biden’s senility to take their bitter medicine, but we’re more concerned about the toady media who played along. Trump on Monday posted a video showing clip after cringe-worthy clip of Democratic leaders from Rep. Nancy Pelosi to Homeland Security chief Alejandro Mayorkas denying again and again that Biden was mentally and physically deteriorating, claiming he was “sharp,” “on his game,” “focused” and that “his age is an asset.” Every last one deserves scorn, but so do the journalists who not only let these fantastical fibs go unchallenged, but even parroted the lies: Biden was showing no signs

This is truly chilling, especially in the wake of today’s terror attacks in New Orleans and Las Vegas. A former CIA officer named Sarah Adams was interviewed on the Shawn Ryan podcast just two weeks ago, and warned that there are more than a thousand al-Qaeda sleepers in the United States right now who are planning major attacks on the homeland. She clearly implicates Biden’s open southern border as the entry point for these potential terrorists and suggests that they have developed new tactics and bombs that can evade detection through traditional means.
