Okay, yes — Kamala Harris was totally bombed (on something, whether it be drink or pills) when she delivered her Thanksgiving valediction yesterday, right? We can all admit that? You “have the same power [intoxicated pause] that you did before November 5” to recognize that, right? Yes, it’s embarrassing — the only thing harder to conceive from a professional messaging operation than the video is the DNC staffer who said, “That’s gold, let’s roll with it.” (Imagine the outtakes.) But the hour before vacation is late, and I prefer mercy.

A Chinese commercial ship is suspected of deliberately dragging its anchor to cut undersea cables that connect countries over the internet, The Wall Street Journal reports.
International investigators reportedly believe the crew aboard Yi Peng 3, a bulk carrier full of Russian fertilizer, dragged its anchor for more than 100 miles across the Baltic seabed, damaging the cables that run across it. Two different internet links — one between Sweden’s Gotland Island and Lithuania, and another between Finland and Germany — stopped working earlier this month, prompting the investigation by authorities from all four countries and other nations, according to the Journal.

One of the best things President-elect Trump has initiated is the Department of Government Efficiency - the DOGE. Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are preparing to let the DOGE off the leash, and if a recent X post from Elon is any indication, the DOGE may be taking a bite out of Senator Elizabeth Warren's brainchild, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB.) That seems a good idea; the federal government is massively feather-bedded, and we got along just fine without the CFPB until 2011; it seems we could get along without it again. And if anyone asks why, I could provide 36 trillion reasons. In other words, we're broke,

We've been hearing for years now how Donald Trump and his supporters are violent, white supremacist "dangers to democracy." Yet it was the former and future president who took a bullet to the ear in a barely failed assassination attempt in July, followed by a second shooter camped out on his golf course waiting to kill him in September.
Now, as the president-elect puts forth names for his Cabinet, those people and their families are being targeted with death threats. Disgusting.
The Trump-Vance Transition Team described what's been happening in a Wednesday morning email:

Cable news network MSNBC claims it was blindsided to learn that a non-profit founded by longtime on-air personality the Rev. Al Sharpton received half a million dollars from Kamala Harris' campaign just before he interviewed her.
The donations that flowed in just before the New York activist's conversation with Harris have brought up questions about the news outlet's credibility.
The National Action Network, a civil rights non-profit that was founded by Sharpton in 1991, received $500,000 from the Harris campaign just weeks before the MSNBC host conducted a highly-anticipated sit-down with the Democrat.
Campaign finance records from the 60-year-old's campaign reveal that two separate payments went to National Action Network.

President-elect Donald J. Trump is gearing up to go nuclear on the FBI and Justice Department, and who can blame him? After years of relentless targeting, capped off with a federal raid on his home in a blatant attempt to torpedo his 2024 campaign, Trump emerged victorious. Now it’s his turn to strike back.
The gloves are off, and the days of tolerating the FBI’s overreach are over. Trump reportedly plans to bypass the FBI’s compromised background checks altogether, issuing security clearances to his appointees on his own authority. This scorched-earth approach sends a clear message: the Biden DOJ’s partisan games are finished.

Failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris is “disqualified forever,” according to prominent Democrat megadonor John Morgan, who lambasted her campaign spending and leadership, insisting she has no political future and “cannot be trusted” with money.
In a stunning critique, longtime Democratic donor and attorney John Morgan unleashed scathing criticism of Vice President Kamala Harris, accusing her of mismanaging funds and failing to demonstrate leadership during her campaign. Speaking to Chris Cuomo on NewsNation on Tuesday, Morgan compared the campaign to “Mad Max,” where “everybody’s got the keys to the candy store.”
Morgan alleged rampant misuse of donor money, claiming it wasn’t being spent to support Harris but rather “pouring in against Trump.”

Ohio governor Mike DeWine signed a law on Wednesday that bars public-school students in the state from using bathrooms that don’t align with their sex.
The “Protect All Students Act” (SB 104) will bar transgender students from kindergarten through college at state public schools from using multi-person bathrooms reserved for the opposite sex.
The bill’s co-sponsor, Republican state senator Jerry Cirino, defended the legislation on the grounds that it would protect vulnerable children. “It revolves around safety, security, and, I think, common sense. It protects our children and grandchildren in private spaces where they are most vulnerable.”

In the three weeks since the election, there have been some entertaining attempts at navel gazing by senior Democratic voices, including former Bill Clinton campaign guru James Carville, that have been pretty on point about what went wrong and where the party needs to move in order to realign with a large chunk of the voting populace. Ed's write-up of Serpenthead's latest media appearance is here.
In other places around regime media, even in advance of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz' DNC donor call, the campaign autopsy continued in some pretty remarkable ways. On NewsNation with Chris Cuomo, Democrat megadonor John Morgan

I'm not the only one who sees this video and thinks, "Is she drunk?"
It's an odd video in many respects. Watch. This is the first public statement released by Kamala Harris in THREE WEEKS, and it is 29 seconds, with no introduction or conclusion. It's simply a clip from some video she recorded, presumably on Tuesday, and released at 6:19 P.M. with no fanfare. It isn't even on Kamala Harris' own X account. It comes via the Democrats. The whole thing is weird. You would think that Harris would have prepared a coherent message, projecting strength and resolve and inspiring her supporters.

A huge percentage of the people I follow on X (yes, I have given in on the Twitter thing) are COVID contrarians. I had departed X for years because it became a liberal playground, but when I started fighting the COVID-19 pandemic insanity, Twitter was a major battleground.
So I guess I shouldn't be surprised to see that the most joy I have seen online since the first few days after Trump's victory has been expressed about Trump's choice of Dr. Jay Bhattacharya for Director of the National Institutes of Health. That is not an exaggeration, either. I've seen lots of people pleased with various picks, but

WASHINGTON D.C./ HELSINKI - Two B-52 Stratofortress bombers of the United States were intercepted by two Russian SU-27 fighter jets near Russia's Baltic Sea exclave of Kaliningrad on Monday, a U.S. official said on Tuesday.
The U.S. bombers were in the Baltic Sea region to train together with their NATO ally Finland, which shares a 1,340 km (833 mile) border with Russia, amid escalating tensions stemming from Western backing for Ukraine to counter Russia's invasion. Monday's interception of the U.S. bombers by Russian fighter jets came just days after Russia fired a hypersonic intermediate-range ballistic missile at Ukraine last Thursday in response
