A therapist who treats illegal immigrants says her phone has been ringing off the hook since President-elect Donald Trump was declared the winner in the November election.
Muriel Casamayor, a licensed therapist who works with immigrants living in the U.S. legally and illegally, claims she hears daily from people who are horrified by Trump’s pledge to embark on the largest deportation program in the country’s history, according to local San Diego outlet KPBS. The president-elect had long pledged to conduct mass deportations, and the GOP made it part of their official platform ahead of its convention in July.

MSNBC legal analyst Andrew Weissmann said Wednesday on “Deadline” that President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) as his attorney general marks the United States’ entry into “pure George Orwell 1984 land.”
Host Nicolle Wallace said, “On Monday, he made the announcement that he would turn to recess appointments. It’s obvious that this trio of Fox News anchors, Matt Gaetz, whose biggest war in Washington is with Kevin McCarthy, and Tulsi Gabbard, was what the recess appointment was all about.”
Weissmann said, “Yeah, I sort of had two reactions to this announcement, and one is very similar to yours,

Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) said Wednesday on CNN’s “The Lead” that President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) as his attorney general was a “red-alert moment for American democracy.”
Murphy said, “I was walking off the Senate floor just moments ago when the news was announced. You could literally hear the jaws dropping to the floor of Republican senators who are now going to be in a position to stand up to Donald Trump in a way that they have been unwilling to.”
He continued, “Matt Gaetz is dangerously unqualified. That’s not the worst of it. Gaetz has been Trump’s chief defender when it comes to Trump’s assault on democracy.

The actress playing the title role in Disney’s upcoming live-action “Snow White” reboot posted a lengthy anti-Trump rant on Instagram in response to the election results.
Actress Rachel Zegler wrote, “May Trump supporters and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace.”
In the post, she complained that her infant daughter may never get to have an abortion.
“I find myself speechless in the midst of this. Another four years of hatred, leaning us towards a world I do not want to live in. Leaning us towards a world that will be hard to raise my daughter in.

After four years of Biden-Harris, US truckers are ecstatic about President Trump’s victory. They’re eager for the economy, and their businesses, to recover and thrive.
Seventy percent of all US freight moves by truck. Thanks to our great highways and efficient truckers, we can enjoy pineapples in winter and get fresh eggs and milk, no matter how far from a farm we live. Under Joe-Kamal, food prices hit record highs. But in normal conditions, food and consumer products stay affordable because stores depend on fast, reliable deliveries, reducing the need to hold excessive inventory. This cuts costs on real estate, rent, insurance, and labor—savings that are passed along to consumers.

The left is melting down over President-elect Donald Trump's choice of Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense.
As I reported earlier, Sen. Elizabeth Warren attacked him as "unqualified," perhaps not even understanding he was a decorated veteran with a 20-year military background. But she claimed authority to say that since she "leads" a military personnel panel in the Senate and her brothers served. So you know the Democrats are going to try to fight Hegseth's approval. But Warren got buried by people in response on X.
Warren wasn't the only one losing her mind. Some in the defense world were upset and Scott Jennings took down the critics on CNN.

Folks on the left are losing their minds over President-elect Donald Trump picking Fox News host Pete Hegseth as his Secretary of Defense.
Of course, they're concentrating on the "Fox News" part — which is really frosting them — without bothering to look at the rest of Hegseth's resume. Perhaps one of the worst responses was this clueless tweet from Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). [Tweet]
It sounded like she didn't have any idea of Hegseth's military background since she claimed she respects "every one of our service members."
Warren is not respecting Hegseth when she attacks him this way. Hegseth got a B.A. from Princeton

President-elect Donald Trump has been busy announcing appointments to his future Cabinet and to his White House staff, and whether you love all his picks or don’t, it’s nevertheless been high-quality entertainment to watch the reaction to them on social media. The naming of Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense has so far caused the most liberal tears, but the announcement that Trump is choosing Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz as his attorney general is sure to cause many leftist heads to explode.
So far, I don’t see that many progressive meltdowns—they’re probably too busy crying in the bathroom—but more are sure to come.

In an interview on Tuesday, former Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos responded to President-elect Donald Trump's plan to eliminate the Department of Education.
DeVos made the remarks in an interview with Fox News.
"President Trump will need to partner with Congress to actually get that done, but there are many steps that can be taken to re-empower states and local communities and importantly, families," DeVos said in the interview about for former president's plan and give power back to the states.
"The bureaucrats at the Department of Education aren't doing the job. They haven't done the job for more than four decades to close achievement gaps, they've only widened," she added.

On Tuesday night, as Matt covered, President-elect Donald Trump announced that he had selected Pete Hegseth to serve as his Secretary of Defense. The reaction was swift and severe at times, with some denigrating Hegseth's service by focusing more so on his current role as a Fox News host. Perhaps the most shameful take came from the DNC War Room, which not only went with such a tactic, but also went after Trump by resurrecting thoroughly debunked claims about him and his regard for veterans.
"Donald Trump should focus more on our military and less on Fox News. Pete Hegseth isn’t just unfit – he’s dangerous:

Outgoing Majority Leader Chuck Schumer took to the Senate floor Wednesday and called for bipartisanship after falsely claiming the 2024 elections were "close."
"To my Republican colleagues: I offer a word of caution in good faith. Take care not to misread the will of the people and do not abandon the need for bipartisanship. After winning an election, the temptation may be to go to the extreme," Schumer said. "It's consistently backfired on the party in power." [Tweet, video]
