How Donald Trump came back from the political abyss

When Donald Trump lost to Joe Biden in 2020, it seemed to be the death knell of his political career. His first term in office ended in chaos and condemnation - even from members of his own party. If he wins the election on Tuesday, it will be only the second time anyone has ever returned to the White House after previously losing a presidential re-election bid. “He gets knocked down and gets up twice as focused,” said Bryan Lanza, who has been a political adviser for the former president since Trump launched his 2016 campaign. “I don't think anybody should be surprised about this comeback.”

Not so much an "abyss" as an artificial, manufactured purgatory. Poorly constructed, not so effective.

One minor detail, Anthony. Trump didn't lose the 2020 election.

Are you excited? Nervous? Just can't wait for it to be over? I hear ya. Tomorrow is the big day, and we all want to know what's going to happen. Of course, no one can predict with 100% certainty, but some pollsters get more credibility than others when they have a record of accuracy. The AtlasIntel poll was the most accurate pollster of 2020, and so when they release a poll, it carries a lot of weight. And on Monday evening, they dropped their final poll of the election, which includes both national and battleground state polling. First, Trump is ahead nationally, 49.2% to Kamala Harris' 48.1%. In their head-to-head scenario,

Western security officials reportedly said they believe Russia is plotting to plant explosives aboard either commercial or passenger airplanes bound for the United States and Canada. Two incendiary devices were shipped using the German logistics company DHL and ignited at DHL logistics hubs in Leipzig, Germany, and in Birmingham, England, in July, sparking a multinational investigation, according to the Wall Street Journal. Security officials and sources familiar with the investigation told the Journal that intelligence agencies in Europe determined the explosions were caused by electric massagers implanted with a magnesium-based flammable substance.

A Pennsylvania judge is allowing Elon Musk's America PAC to continue its $1 million a day contest through Nov. 5, according to a ruling on Monday. The ruling by Common Pleas Court Judge Angelo Foglietta came hours after Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner's testimony against America PAC on Monday. Kramer argued that the "sweepstakes" violates election laws and that it should be shut down. Appearing as a witness on Monday, Krasner called the contest "a grift." "This was all a political marketing masquerading as a lottery," the district attorney said. Earlier that day, it was revealed that the winners of America PAC's giveaway are not randomly selected.

The final national NBC News poll of the 2024 presidential campaign finds a neck and neck contest defined by clashing forces that have aided both Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump in their pursuit of the White House. Taken together, the poll shows Harris getting support from 49% of registered voters in a head-to-head matchup, while Trump gets an identical 49%. Just 2% of voters say they’re unsure about the choice. Boosting Harris: rising Democratic enthusiasm, a 20-point lead over Trump on the issue of abortion, and an advantage for Harris on which candidate better looks out for the middle class.

WASHINGTON – If Donald Trump is reelected to a second term in the White House, he would return to Washington with very different relationships than when he left the nation's capital in January 2021. At the end of his first term, his standing among GOP lawmakers was precarious: The Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol building led to condemnations from both sides of the aisle and his historic second impeachment. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., delivered a scathing floor speech after Trump's Senate trial saying the lame duck president was "practically and morally responsible" for the riot, and

The New York Times’ chief political analyst warned Sunday that pollsters may not have solved the underlying issues they encountered in 2016 and 2020 and could once again be underestimating Donald Trump. Times scribe Nate Cohn, while cautioning on X that he has “no idea whether our polls (or any polls) polls [are] ‘right,’ ” explained that inescapable survey bias may be spoiling the results because Democrats dramatically outpace white Republicans, a Trump voting bastion, when it comes to answering pollsters. “Four years ago, the polls were thought to underestimate Mr. Trump because of nonresponse bias — in which his supporters were less likely to take

Crowds swelled on Saturday at former President Donald Trump’s rally in Salem, Virginia, a state that leans toward Vice President Kamala Harris. The former president’s visit to the Old Dominion suggest the Trump campaign believes it might be able to win the state. If Trump wins the state, he will likely cruise to an Electoral College victory. Trump is within two points of Harris (48-46 percent), a recent Rasmussen Reports poll found. Trump lost the state in 2016 and 2020 by 5.3 percent and 10.1 percent, respectively. “I think we have a really good chance to win the popular vote…in other words, we are gonna win!” Trump told attendees. “Remember this,

With the election just days away, people on both sides are on edge but things are looking very good for Trump. This is causing widespread panic in Hollywood, one of the most reliably liberal parts of the country. Liberal celebrities have shown over and over again that they will vote Democrat no matter what is happening in the rest of the nation. Wealthy celebs seem even more out of touch as they do not feel the economic pain that has burdened people everywhere else for over three years now. I think it wise to just vote and ignore the polls and pundits, many of whom are dealing from the bottom of the deck and bluffing. I’d also ignore those doomsters who claim on the basis of the 2020 election that it will be stolen. Sure, the press is lying again, but as I show below, the legacy media has blown its credibility and alternate content providers are capturing audiences away from them.

But viewers were quick to note how the sketch was strikingly similar to one performed nine years earlier by Trump. (Photos) Just as in Harris' cold open, Trump was also seen talking to himself through the mirror, and asking for himself for advice.
