…from the Washington Post, that is. First he walked out on the Washington Post Live’s First Look podcast with the absurd Jonathan Capehart and Ruth Marcus this morning (video below). Then, according to the follow-up New York Post story, Hugh quit his gig as a Post columnist.
Hugh was Power Line’s first media friend, from the summer and fall of 2002 in our early days online. He is something of a Renaissance man, superior in every respect to his colleagues in the mainstream media. It understates matters considerably to say that he is an old-fashioned gentleman and scholar.
Today he reached his boiling point.

MISSOULA, Mont. — A Washington state man accused of leading a wildlife trafficking ring on a Native American reservation that killed thousands of eagles and hawks to sell on the black market was sentenced Thursday to nearly four years in prison.
The trafficking ring operated for years on the Flathead Indian Reservation in northwest Montana, exploiting high demand among tribal members for feathers and other bird parts that are used in powwows and sacred ceremonies.
The defendant and others killed at least 118 eagles, 107 hawks and as many as 3,600 birds overall, prosecutors said.
Juvenile golden eagles in particular were targeted because their black and white

The annual UN resolution disapproving of the Cuba embargo came up. And the entire world, or nearly all of it, took a firm stand in favor of mandatory trade with a brutal Communist tyranny.
The UN General Assembly voted 187 – 2 in favor of its pro-Communist resolution urging the “necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba,”
The 2 were America and Israel. (Moldova, for some reason, abstained.) Every other country, our allies in Europe, even seemingly Ukraine, voted against America.
It’s a truly disgraceful showing.
Making it likely even more disgraceful is that the Marshall Islands and Micronesia voted against America

Few people can explain things like John Stossel can. The man's videos are always a pleasure to watch, and he releases with some regularity, making him a fun follow on social media.
Stossel recently released a video that I feel is something that all people should see, and I don't just mean in America. I really think this video should be viewed before election time because it truly highlights a massive problem the first world is having.
Our media is entirely corrupt, biased, and out of control.
In the video titled "Media Bias (and Not So Subtle) Ways Journalists Slant the News," Stossel shows you just how simpering and worshiping

In my last column, I wrote about America after a second Trump administration, but now comes the horror show – America after a first Kamala Harris administration, which is actually a second Biden administration, which is really the third Obama administration, only dumber. It's unclear whether America can survive it. We're strong. We're resilient. But the infection is deep and when you get gangrene, the only answer is to start cutting.
Don't underestimate the damage someone who is stupid, leftist, and fully convinced of her own greatness can do even to a country like the United States of America. President Harris will be in an unmitigated disaster.

Lee Smith is one of the sharpest political analysts around. And yesterday, writing at Thomas D. Klingenstein’s site, Smith asked a question that has probably occurred to the rest of you: “Is the Left Preparing for War If Trump Wins?” If someone like Smith asks the question based upon a careful review of available information, you’re no longer looking at tinfoil hat stuff; instead, this is a very serious matter that we hope the Trump campaign and the RNC are taking very seriously.
What concerns Smith is the escalating rhetoric about Trump as a “fascist” (Kamala’s words) and another Hitler (John Kelly, The Atlantic, Kamala Harris). Before, during, and after

GRAHAM "Dingo" Dinkelman was a renowned South African wildlife conservationist, snake handler and broadcaster. The popular YouTuber tragically passed away on October 28, 2024, following a month-long battle in hospital. His death was the result of complications from a venomous snake bite he sustained while working with reptiles, a field he was deeply passionate about.
Dubbed the 'South African Steve Irwin', Dingo had amassed more than 100,000 YouTube subscribers and over 600,000 Instagram followers at the time of his passing. Graham Dinkelman was born on June 15, 1980, in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
From a young age he displayed a keen interest in wildlife, particularly reptiles.

There is a tide in the affairs of men, as Shakespeare said, and now, two weeks before election day, that tide has swung decisively toward Donald Trump. Forget the establishment polls. The betting sites show him leading by nearly thirty points. He’s ahead in every last battleground state, according to RCP. Embattled Democrat senatorial candidates, including Bob Casey, Sherrod Brown, Jon Tester, and Tammy Baldwin have abandoned Harris and allied themselves with Trump. Both the LA Times and WaPo have refused to endorse Harris. There are more registered GOP voters today than at any previous point in history.
As for Mrs. Harris-Emhoff… well, “collapse” is the polite word.

Once upon a time, America used to have Election Day. Now we’re being threatened with Election Week.
There’s no reason for it. The year is 2024. We can order a toaster and have it delivered overnight from another state. We hear about an event seconds after it happens. Yet somehow despite insane budgets, we’re told that it’s impossible to do in 2024 what we were able to do in 1944. During wartime.
Election Week may have hit a bit of a snag after the 5th US Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that counting mail ballots arriving after Election Day is wrong because it’s… Election Day, not Week, Month or Year.

John Fetterman is the Democratic Senator from Pennsylvania who suffered a serious stroke in the course of his campaign. If he is not at the limit of his recovery he is still recovering. Yet a brain-damaged John Fetterman has distinguished himself from the Democrat pack with his undiluted support of Israel and a clearer understanding of Israel’s current ordeal than some of the speakers at President Trump’s rally last night, to take just one example close at hand. (John wrote about them in the adjacent post.)
Fetterman not only cuts through the fog, he expresses himself with admirable concision, as in his interview with the left-wing writer Lulu Garcia-Navarro

Question for the American people: How well do you know Kamala Harris?
We know Donald Trump extremely well. Not to wax all Eastwoodian, but when it comes to Trump, we already know the good, the bad, and the ugly. We know all about McDonald’s, the divorces, the money, the accusations, the successes, and the hair.
He’s transparent.
In fact, given the global population boom and the rise in alternative media, you could make a compelling argument that more content has probably been produced about Donald Trump over the past 10 years than about anyone else on the planet. And that ain’t hyperbole, folks — that’s almost certainly a fact!

The obvious disclaimer about how close this election is and not to take anything for granted aside, does anyone think Kamala Harris is on the verge of winning this election? Like, legitimately? In the past few weeks, her lead in the RealClearPolitics averages has disappeared, and Trump now has the lead in the national average. (X) Sure, the polls could be wrong like they were in 2022, but just look at the Harris-Walz campaign lately. They're enlisting celebrities to handle her final pitch and duping her supporters into thinking they're about to see a Beyoncé concert to boost attendance at her rallies.
And of course,
