Jon Stewart defends Tony Hinchcliffe’s
controversial MSG Trump rally joke

Jon Stewart is sticking up for fellow comedian Tony Hinchcliffe after his joke about Puerto Rico at Sunday’s New York City Trump rally set off a media firestorm — and he threw in a hilarious jab at the Harris campaign for good measure. On Monday night’s “The Daily Show,” Stewart ran a supercut of left-leaning MSNBC and CNN personalities’ scandalized reactions to the one-liner, in which the noted roast comic and host of “Kill Tony” podcast compared the US territory to a “floating island of garbage.” The clips ended with “Morning Joe” cohost Mika Brzezinski calling out Hinchcliffe’s “extremely vile so-called jokes,” which Stewart quipped

Perhaps it's a great joke for "The Daily Show " or a club act, but it's one of those unforced errors in politics. If you're a Dem, you don't need to worry. If you're a Republican, don't try this trick at home ... or at the Garden.

I think the attendees at the rally would have understood what the guy was saying if they had been informed about the horrible garbage conditions in PR. I had heard about the garbage pile up and having many landfills closed because the fills are filled to capacity. What does PR do when they run out of a place to dump their garbage. It was not a slam against the people on PR, but a problem they have.

I was in Puerto Rico in 1968....cab driver did the Indy 500 on way to hotel which was booked at a hotel in Old Town. Arrived late at night....very scary (nearly empty room with some sort of 'bed' and a dim light). Checked back out and stayed at airport 'hotel' overnight. So, Hinchcliffe joke didn't faze me at all....

Meanwhile, at a demonicrat rally, comedian George Lopez made a joke about Mexicans stealing the supplies for building the border wall. But that’s OK. Mexicans = thieves. No, not racist at all.

I've lost track of the number of time I've heard Hispanic comedians tell this joke: "The first sentence in English a Mexican learns to say is "Can you help me push my car." Always gets a laugh. So the rules are you can tell put down jokes of racial or ethnic groups as long as you are a member of that group. I'm a hillbilly so I guess I can tell jokes about ridge runners and vice versa. No one ever got mad when Groucho Marx insulted them. We are too busy looking for things to get upset about.

CBS News anchor Norah O’Donnell accused former President Donald Trump “and his supporters” of not giving President Joe Biden “grace” over his “garbage” remarks. O’Donnell referred to how Trump rode on a garbage truck to his rally in Wisconsin a day after Biden described Trump voters as being “garbage.” “Former President Donald Trump was in North Carolina earlier, and tonight he’s also in Wisconsin,” O’Donnell. “He landed in Green Bay just a short time ago, and pulled, then, this campaign stunt, speaking to reporters from a garbage truck, proof that he and his supporters are giving no grace to a gaffe by President Biden, where he in his explanation, inadvertently

I think one thing that both sides can agree on is that the 2024 presidential election cycle, specifically starting in June and going until Election Day, will one day be known as perhaps the wildest, most unpredictable campaign cycle in modern American history. And we are so here for it! As we reported earlier, GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump put on an absolute master class Wednesday in trolling his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, and her purported boss, President Joe Biden, by hitching a ride on a garbage truck to a campaign event in Wisconsin. The photos and videos of Trump, dressed in a suit and an orange safety vest,

President Joe Biden bizarrely bit three babies as he greeted the children of staff to his final Halloween party at the White House. Biden - infamous for his playful interaction with children at public events - also feigned fright at the creepy costumes of his young visitors alongside his wife Jill who was dressed in a full-body panda suit. The 81-year-old president was pictured biting the leg of a baby dressed as a turkey, chomping the toe of a child in an ice cream cone costume and nibbling at a third baby wearing a blue dress.

Kamala Harris' speeches in three swing states on Wednesday were derailed by hecklers in the critical final stretch of the campaign with the polls on a knife edge. The vice president was in the middle of her remarks in the battlegrounds of North Carolina and Pennsylvania when the demonstrators started screaming and shouting at her. The Democratic nominee slapped down the interruptions both times by invoking Donald Trump and claiming he considers his critics the 'enemy.' Her third rally of the long day also was interrupted. Protesters have popped up frequently at Harris' rallies and most have targeted the Biden administration's involvement in the war in Gaza.

As all signs point to a Trump victory next week, CNN appears to warn its viewers that Vice President Kamala Harris doesn’t have what it takes to be the next president of the United States. CNN senior data reporter Harry Enton pointed out not-so-good news for Democrats but great news for Republicans as he cited polling numbers that show former President Donald Trump edging out Harris in the presidential race. He made note of a recent RealClearPolitics survey that shows Trump in the lead over the vice president among six of the seven critical battleground states. Enten pointed out that just 28 percent of Americans believe the country is heading

PORTLAND, Ore.—The man suspected of setting fires in ballot drop boxes in Oregon and Washington state is an experienced metalworker and may be planning additional attacks, authorities said Wednesday. Investigators believe the man who set the incendiary devices at ballot boxes in Portland, Oregon, and nearby Vancouver, Washington, had a “wealth of experience” in metal fabrication and welding, said Portland Police Bureau spokesperson Mike Benner. The way the devices were constructed and the way they were attached to the metal drop boxes showed that expertise, Benner said. The results appeared on the ticker along the bottom of the screen during a broadcast of the Formula 1 Mexico Grand Prix by ABC local affiliate WNEP-TV on Sunday. It showed Kamala Harris taking the state with 52 percent of the votes, while Donald Trump's share was 47 percent. It instantly prompted claims of election rigging on social media, with one person tweeting: 'The cheat is on.' WNEP-TV said that the numbers came up on the screen in 'error' and that they had been 'randomly generated' as part of a test ahead of election night on November 5.

The White House and its media allies ran a coverup for President Biden after he maligned former President Donald Trump’s supporters as “garbage” — going so far as to edit an official transcript of his remarks, to the outrage of conservatives and other critics who called out “flat out lying” by Democrats and their allies. Democrats went into damage-control mode Tuesday night due to the president’s trash talk, claiming that Biden hadn’t intended to demonize his party’s political opponents just seven days before voters head to the polls. “The President referred to the hateful rhetoric at the Madison Square Garden rally as ‘garbage,’” White House spokesman Andrew Bates said in a statement.

I was invited by my New York congresswoman, Nicole Malliotakis, to attend the Madison Square Garden Trump rally, but I politely declined because I loathe crowds. I did, however, watch the rally online when supposed MAGA comedian Tony Hinchcliffe said: “There’s a lot going on. There’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it’s called Puerto Rico.” He also made a bunch of disparaging remarks about Latinos and implied that illegals are coming here making lots of babies. Hmmm, I guess I am supposed to be so offended that I will not vote for Trump or any Republican running for office.

The Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that Virginia is entitled to remove noncitizen aliens from its voter rolls, siding with the commonwealth over lower courts less than a week out from the election. The order comes two days after Virginia attorney general Jason Miyares filed an emergency application, requesting that the Court stay an injunction that ordered Virginia to restore some 1,600 suspected noncitizens who are ineligible to vote to the state’s voter rolls. A federal appeals court upheld the injunction on Sunday, quickly prompting the attorney general to appeal to the Supreme Court.
