A pink-haired DEI trainer has slammed Oregon's forestry department for hiring on the basic of merit rather than identity.
Megan Donecker filed a complaint about her former boss Mike Shaw and moaned about him telling her that he sought the 'candidates most qualified for the job.'
DEI advocates like Donecker say hiring should be done through an 'intersectional lens' whereby applications from people of marginalized backgrounds are given greater weight.
Shaw, who earns $192,000-a-year as deputy head of Oregon's Department of Forestry, has been put on leave over Donecker's complaint.

Has anyone noticed the deafening silence of the Hollywood and Nashville glitterati towards the victims of Hurricanes Helene and Milton? Usually, this is the perfect time to virtue signal, but save for Dolly Parton, Morgan Wallen, Metallica, and even Taylor Swift, there hasn't been much from the usual suspects who love to talk about how compassionate and caring they are. The regents who govern Georgia’s 26 public colleges and universities voted Tuesday to ask the NCAA and the National Junior College Athletic Association to put a ban in place on transgender athletes participating in women’s sports.
The vote was unanimous. Reportedly, the vote was instigated by Republican Georgia Lt. Gov. Burt Jones’ oath to ban men who think they are women from women’s sports (via the New York Post):
The officials expect the NCAA and the National Junior College Athletic Association to conform to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ rules, which largely banned transgender women from sports in April.

The Biden-Harris administration is accusing another jurisdiction of discriminating against women and African Americans by creating law enforcement examinations that are too hard for them.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Friday announced a lawsuit against South Bend, Indiana. In their court filing, the DOJ accused the South Bend Police Department of creating a physical fitness test that discriminates against female candidates and a written test that discriminates against African-American candidates, allegedly because both groups were passing at considerably lower rates than their male and white counterparts, respectively.

You know you've spent too much time in Hollywood and not enough time in the real world when you think it's a good career move to work with the deeply troubled folks behind the Lincoln Project. This is the sad fate that seems to have befallen actor Ed O'Neill, originator of the much-beloved Al Bundy character on "Married With Children," who has debased himself by voicing a pro-Kamala ad for the group of dubious characters.

As I've noted before, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) has risen to the occasion since becoming GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump's running mate in late July, from the way he's handled the liberal media's talking points to the way he refuses to back down from a fight and comes armed with receipts so he can start dropping them on his critics when challenged. Then there was his beast mode performance at the veep debate, where he made mincemeat of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris is desperately relying on to help her win over male voters, who are flocking to support the Trump-Vance ticket in droves.

Vice President Kamala Harris on Friday described “what’s at stake” in the 2024 election in notably vague terms – telling Arizona voters that “it’s packed with some stuff!” before bursting out in laughter.

About five minutes into her speech, however, the vice president decided to articulate the importance of the presidential election in even more plain terms.

The dramatic rise in early voting has led many to think the election might be effectively over days or weeks before Election Day. The data thus far show that won’t be true — and the numbers aren’t comforting for Democrats.
Early voting is nowhere near what some people estimated: 4.2 million Americans have already cast their ballots, per John Couvillon, a Republican political strategist who provides daily updates on early and mail voting.
That sounds like a lot, but it’s a pittance compared with the 158.6 million votes ultimately cast in 2020.
More important, it’s significantly less than this point in 2020: Early voting is down 45%, Couvillon’s numbers show.

Kamala Harris had a problem, and like the savvy political operator she is, she set out to solve it. In doing so, she has bestowed upon us an invaluable gift: the most cringeworthy political ad in the history of the known universe. The genesis of this masterwork was simple: numerous polls showed that Donald Trump had a massive lead among men. That was understandable. Look at Trump and JD Vance, and then look at the weak half-men, men who think they’re women, and effeminate males that populate the Harris campaign. I know the conventional wisdom is that this election is too close to call. And it is. Predictions on the outcome are little better than guesses.
Still, this is Washington. And while prognostications in U.S. politics is fraught with risk, it doesn’t stop most of us — even though we know that, if you are right, nobody cares, and if you are wrong, it goes on your Wikipedia page forever. Predictions are pedestrian, oftentimes biased, and generally uninteresting. But the reasoning behind them might occasionally offer something of value.
So, here’s the uninteresting part: I think that Donald Trump is going to win.

Vice President Kamala Harris’ comments about owning a “Glock” are proving to be, more than just a short-lived embarrassment, a microcosm of the problem plaguing her candidacy. Like other failed campaigns before, Harris’ camp seems to believe the public can be hoodwinked with prepared lines and ads and images that are at odds with the candidate’s record and identity.

Israeli officials are pushing for damaging strikes on nuclear facilities or oil infrastructure after Tehran fired 180 ballistic missiles at Israel earlier this month.
But Iran has now warned that it will respond with 'devastating hits' on Israel's civilian infrastructure and against any Arab states that help facilitate the touted attacks, The Wall Street Journal reported.
Iran has reportedly threatened several countries hosting American troops, including Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

To paraphrase something I have heard conservative radio talk show host Dan Bongino say often, the difference between conservatives and liberals is that conservatives think liberals are just people with bad ideas. Liberals think conservatives are not only people with bad ideas, they are bad people. The fact that he is right can be seen in the way the far-left reacts to conservatives. It's not enough to disagree with conservatives, but they and their whole lives must be destroyed. And when it comes to Donald Trump, there are "special" rules for him and anyone associated with or supporting him.

A 90-second video of “typical” men expressing their support for Kamala Harris was widely mocked online Friday — with critics trashing the awkward spot as the “cringiest political ad ever” and an “absurd piece of rubbish.”
The clip features a slew of apparent farmers, car enthusiasts and gym junkies boasting about their masculinity as they repeatedly insist, “I’m a man” and “I’m man enough.”
The script then takes a hard feminist turn as the presumed actors — most of whom were filmed doing outdoor activities or perched on trucks — start rattling off ways they aren’t afraid to support women.

After months of avoiding the media almost entirely, she is now talking in less controlled settings, although so far, the only journalist she has actually sat down with is 60 Minutes' Bill Whitaker, who did a good job trying to pin down a slippery Kamala Harris. The interview did not go well. Dana Bash isn't a good journalist, so I consider this Harris' first interview.

If this is how the media reacted to Donald Trump’s sit-down with comedian and podcaster Andrew Schulz, then a) you know Kamala Harris’ interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast was atrocious, and it was, and b) these people have no clue how to interpret anything Trump because of their bias. Kamala Harris has undergone numerous "reboots" and attempted reinventions as Joe Biden's Vice President, amid low approval ratings, bad headlines, and enormous staff turnover. She has an authenticity problem. None of the makeovers have stuck. Her latest attempt has been to pretend she's a powerful and influential Vice President in the current administration, who nevertheless represents change and a new direction from her own unpopular administration. She's fresh and different, but is no longer left-wing on everything, we're told, without any explanations for her endless parade of ostensible flip-flops.

I predicted Trump would win the 2016 election. On the day of the election, the betting odds on that were 12%. Had I been a betting man, I’d have made YUGE money.
In 2020, I again predicted Trump would win. On the day of that election, the odds of that happening were 35%.
Trump lost that time, but, given the odds, I would not have lost nearly as much as I would have made four years earlier in 2016. I’d still be way ahead.
My point is that even though I missed the call in 2020, nailing the near-impossible call back in 2016 makes me a frigging prophet.

"Chips aren’t just delicious, the CHIPS Act is a game-changer for U.S. tech and manufacturing, boosting domestic production of semiconductors to reduce reliance on foreign suppliers! Donald Trump would put that at risk."

If former President Donald Trump wins a second term in November, his triumphant return to Butler, Pennsylvania — the site of the first assassination attempt he survived thanks to a fortuitous head turn — could be what puts him back into the White House.
The second Butler rally was a revival, in multiple definitions of the word. It was an improvement. A return. A religious gathering, highlighted by deep excitement. There was opera singer Christopher Macchio on hand to belt out beautiful renditions of “Ave Maria” and Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” There was a touching tribute to Corey Comperatore, the Trump supporter who was killed at the July rally. When was the last time you can remember a president rebuking his own party’s nominee to succeed him with less than a month to go until Election Day?
As it turns out, for every 10 or so of his faults, President Biden does boast a virtue.
A few of his old-school instincts have survived his half-century in electoral politics, and one of those instincts is an aversion to using a crisis — like the one brought about by Hurricanes Helene and Milton — to smear his rivals.

Within minutes of Hamas jihadists breaching the Israeli border on Oct. 7, 2023, and commencing the largest slaughter of the Jewish people since the Holocaust, Western leftists and other defenders of the genocidal Palestinian-Arab cause rallied around a talking point: "This did not occur in a vacuum." The claim, blithely offered by armchair revolutionaries without even acknowledging the many hundreds of butchered babies, sadistically tortured families, raped women and young music festivalgoers taken hostage, was that Israel had somehow impelled the horrific rampage on its own civilians. Those with a functioning moral compass recognize this as obvious terror apologia.

A U.N. tribunal has ordered a former high-ranking official to repay the United Nations $58.8 million lost in deals he made with a British businessman who showered him with interest-free loans, a Mercedes for his wife and perks for his sons. The three-judge United Nations Dispute Tribunal ruled that evidence “clearly and convincingly” shows that Vitaly Vanshelboim’s misconduct “caused massive financial losses” by the U.N. Office for Project Services, which says it provides infrastructure, procurement and project management services and is known as UNOPS. Vanshelboim facilitated multiple financial deals between the U.N. office and British businessman David Kendrick focusing on renewable energy, sustainable housing and the oceans.

As the presidential election quickly approaches and is already underway in some states such as Pennsylvania, I am surprised to meet Christians--including evangelicals, Catholics, and mainline Protestants--who tell me they feel they have no choice but to abstain from voting for either candidate. [Snip] A vote for Trump is a vote to better protect Christians, safeguard our children, advance a culture of life, and restore American sovereignty. A vote for Harris is a vote to prosecute Christians, confuse and mutilate our kids, adopt extreme abortion policies, and undermine the security of our homes and communities. [Snip] Staying home is not the moral high ground.

The father of an allegedly kidnapped 14-year-old girl is in jail in Lonoke County, Arkansas, after a shooting that left the reported kidnapper dead. The father said he found the man with his daughter, and a confrontation broke out as he tried to rescue her.
Lonoke County Sheriff John Staley said in a Facebook post that his deputies received a call on October 8 about a missing 14-year-old girl. As the deputies were en route to the home of the missing girl, they received a call regarding a shooting.

Earlier this week, there was a sound that has become all too rare. It was a western political leader expressing unequivocal moral clarity.
Asked about US President Joe Biden’s opposition to Israel striking Iran’s nuclear facilities in defence against the Islamic regime’s attacks, Canada’s Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre said:
I think the idea of allowing a genocidal, theocratic, unstable dictatorship that is desperate to avoid being overthrown by its own people to develop nuclear weapons is about the most dangerous and irresponsible thing that the world could ever allow. If Israel were to stop that genocidal, theocratic, unstable government from acquiring nuclear weapons, it would be a gift by

In the lead-up to and during Barack Obama’s presidency, we were relentlessly told that Barack Obama was a racial healer and a man of unusual, almost James Bondian suave sophistication. Both were lies. Barack Obama has always been a race hustler and a crude, low-thinking person. Both traits appeared during campaign appearances he made yesterday on Kamala’s behalf, where he made a vulgar crack about Donald Trump and shamed young black men for voting for their interests rather than their skin color.

The Israel Land Authority on Thursday announced the takeover of the headquarters in Jerusalem of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), which will be replaced with 1,440 housing units.
The 8.89-acre UNRWA compound in the Ma’alot Dafna neighborhood of Jerusalem has been declared illegal following an inquiry by Minister of Construction and Housing Yitzhak Goldknopf to the CEO of the land authority and the prime minister’s office. It turns out the UN agency owes more than $7 million in rent for the space.

During a town hall with Univision on Thursday, 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris responded to a question on what she’d do differently on the border than President Joe Biden by stating she “was the top law enforcement officer of the biggest state in this country, California.” And “will put my record up against anyone in terms of the work I have always done and will always do to ensure we have a secure border” and saying that she has done work on trafficking. Harris also stated that she’ll “do the work of focusing on what we must do to have an orderly and humane pathway to earn

Joe Biden spoke about the hurricane response on Thursday.
But Joe being Joe, he just couldn't stop himself from being nasty and divisive.
He made a bizarre comment when asked about his call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, of which Kamala Harris was also, reportedly, a part. "What did Prime Minister Netanyahu tell you about his plans related to retaliation?" a reporter asked. (X Video) Biden replied, "He's coming over to help with the storm."

Ron DeSantis never misses, and his response to Hurricane Milton has set another standard. After pre-staging crews to work around the clock, the recovery from the massive storm is well underway. Some in the press are still looking for controversy, though.
On Thursday, one reporter tried to blame Milton and the tornados it spawned on "global warming." What followed was a masterclass in both knowledge and how to use it to push back on a narrative.
Truly, this is a joy to watch. Take it in because we don't get many politicians on the right who can articulate a point like this.

All of the talk about how sacred ‘our democracy’ is from Democrats in recent years might go right out the window in November.
Rep. Jamie Raskin of California and other members of his party are already signaling that they may not vote to certify the 2024 election if Trump wins.
This would not be a big change for Raskin. He objected to certifying the 2016 election when Trump won. It’s almost like they don’t really care about ‘our democracy’ at all. Almost.

There are indications that Kamala’s campaign, borne up on a tide of media muck, is falling back down into that muck. Let’s hope that’s correct because a Kamala loss is America’s last, best hope.
Usually, presidential campaigns swing into gear at the end of the year preceding the election. That’s when primary season begins, and each candidate works to convince voters within the candidate’s party (assuming the state doesn’t have “open primaries”) that this specific candidate is the best one to represent the party’s values in the presidential election.
For Democrat voters, 2024 was very different. Because the Democrat party used underhanded means

UFC chief Dana White has launched a scathing attack on Kamala Harris after her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, saying her potentially presidency should 'scare the s***' out of people.
White, who is close friends with Donald Trump, posted his comments on X on Thursday night.
Sharing a clip of Harris giving a rambling answer to Colbert upon being asked what she'd change if she wins next month's election, White wrote: 'I don’t like to post a lot of political content, but this clip should scare EVERYONE.

Former President Donald Trump won’t appear on a voters’ pamphlet mailed across Oregon because the 2024 GOP nominee missed the deadline to submit a statement in the informational guide, officials said.
Trump, along with his running mate Ohio Sen. JD Vance, will still be on the state’s ballot in his quest to retake the White House this November, but will be one of three presidential candidates that won’t show up in the booklet recently sent out to 3 million voters, according to reports.
Along with not submitting a candidate statement, his campaign did not fork over a fee of $3,500, the Oregon Capitol Chronicle reported last month.

Former CBS News staffers are reportedly calling on the network to launch an external probe into the ongoing "60 Minutes" editing controversy. CBS News has been at the center of outrage after it aired an edited clip of Vice President Kamala Harris during its primetime "60 Minutes" election special Monday that was different from a preview of the unflattering exchange she had with veteran correspondent Bill Whitaker that was widely panned by critics.
"I think there should be an outside investigation," a former CBS News journalist told The New York Post on Thursday.
"Obviously, there’s a problem here. If they care about journalistic integrity, they would conduct an investigation

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s latest book is a flop, selling only 27,000 copies in its first week, according to the Washington Free Beacon.
That’s significantly less than the 167,000 copies of her previous book, “What Happened,” that were sold in the first week after its release in 2017. [Tweets]
Speaking of “what happened,” what exactly happened here with her book’s latest sales?
Critics like the Beacon’s Andrew Stiles say this latest book is just “another memoir about how unfair it was that she lost to Donald Trump and why you still owe her an apology for being right about everything.”
