The Secret Services now stands exposed
as a national embarrassment

Original Article

If this is what the Secret Service has become, it’s a wonder that something worse than Butler, Pa., hasn’t already happened. That event was terrible enough, with one rally-goer killed and Donald Trump coming within an inch of losing his life. If Trump hadn’t turned his head at the right moment, Butler would have become one of the most notorious locations in American history and we’d be living in a different world. At the time, the Secret Service’s failure seemed unfathomable and none of the revelations since — set out in a report by the Senate Homeland Security Committee — make it any better.

How far they have fallen. I worked with them a few times in the military and knew one personally for a while. Always great guys with behavior, both on and off duty, that was beyond reproach. If you didnt know they were agents, you'd have thought them ministers. You would have left your wife or daughter with them without reservation. Now they are no better than the bottom feeders at the FBI an ATF.

It's not just DEI to blame (and certainly not lack of funding) but the "leadership" of the agency. The previous director recommended for the position by Jill Biden as she worked on Jill's detail along with Dick Cheney's detail so you know she was soaked in the anti-Trump vitriol. The current acting director forbid his agency from wearing red ties - you know, Trump...blah blah blah. Incompetence is certainly a critical reason for all these "mishaps" but certain people in certain places in certain agencies want Trump killed.

I heard of someone who applied for the FBI about 25 years ago, and when being interviewed he lied about something. Whether it was deliberate or not, I do not know. Anyway, because they determined he did not tell the truth, he was not hired. Imagine anyone being turned down for a government job because they told a lie! Not in today's culture - sadly. In fact, in today's culture, he might be hired on-the-spot.

Tuesday was the official beginning of National Day, a Chinese holiday marking the anniversary of Communist Party rule. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the takeover, but the celebrations seemed muted as the week-long holiday got underway, as China faces economic stumbles, security woes, supply chain disruptions, a massive demographic crisis, and a growing sense of anger and futility among its young people. The Associated Press noted that no festivities at all were announced on Tuesday, except for a ceremonial flag-raising at Tiananmen Square, which was a symbolic center of ancient Chinese imperial power before it became infamous for a horrifying Communist massacre in 1989.

As we have previously reported, he is saying that he would not support Israel taking out Iran's nuclear capability and that any response had to be "proportionate." Presumably, he meant "proportionate" to the ballistic missile attack that Iran launched on Israel on Monday. Two of the people familiar with the donations told Reuters that Musk's contributions to the organization, Building America's Future, had started by 2022. One of those people and a third source said the donations amounted to millions of dollars, significantly boosting a group whose advertisements and social media campaigns have criticized the Biden administration and progressive political platforms of the sort that Musk himself has increasingly denounced.
