Tuesday was the official beginning of National Day, a Chinese holiday marking the anniversary of Communist Party rule.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the takeover, but the celebrations seemed muted as the week-long holiday got underway, as China faces economic stumbles, security woes, supply chain disruptions, a massive demographic crisis, and a growing sense of anger and futility among its young people. The Associated Press noted that no festivities at all were announced on Tuesday, except for a ceremonial flag-raising at Tiananmen Square, which was a symbolic center of ancient Chinese imperial power before it became infamous for a horrifying Communist massacre in 1989.

Megyn Kelly roasted Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff on Wednesday following a Daily Mail report about alleged details of an incident where he slapped a woman he was dating in public.
The former Fox News host bashed the media's softball treatment of Kamala Harris' husband after The Daily Mail reported that during a prior relationship Emhoff got into an altercation with a woman he was dating, according to friends of the woman.
'If this was a Republican it would be leading every news channel,' she said.

President Biden called on Americans Wednesday to “put politics aside” to focus on Hurricane Helene recovery efforts — moments before stepping on his own message by saying that anyone who doubts climate change’s role in the disaster “must be brain dead.”
“In a moment like this, we put politics aside, at least we should put it all aside, and we have here,” the retiring 81-year-old president said during a recovery briefing in Raleigh, NC.
“There are no Democrats or Republicans, there are only Americans, and our job is to help as many people as we can, as quickly as we can, and as thoroughly as we can.”

Former President Donald Trump slammed the Department of Justice (DOJ) for unsealing a motion from Special Counsel Jack Smith regarding Trump’s alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election, describing it as a “hit job.”
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that the Democrat Party was “weaponizing” the DOJ against him “because they know” he is winning, pointing out that this unsealed motion came after Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), Trump’s vice presidential running mate, “humiliated” Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) in the vice presidential debate on Tuesday.

Joe Biden was at it again on Wednesday throwing Israel under the bus again when it comes to Iran.
Biden is always coming down Israel's throat when they're trying to deal with terrorists. As we have previously reported, he is saying that he would not support Israel taking out Iran's nuclear capability and that any response had to be "proportionate." Presumably, he meant "proportionate" to the ballistic missile attack that Iran launched on Israel on Monday. (X Video) Once again, there he goes trying to tie Israel's hands to something he deems "proportionate."

On Wednesday, “CNN Newsroom” host Jim Acosta interrupted Trump campaign senior adviser Corey Lewandowski while discussing immigration and the pronunciation of Vice President Kamala Harris’s name.
Acosta said, “Corey, can you say that Haitian migrants are not eating pets in Springfield?”
Lewandowski said, “You know what I can say, Jim? I can say that 13,099 murderers were let into this country, 16,000 rapes, 425,000 people in the last four years have been let into this country by by Kamala Harris and Joe Biden’s own Customs and Border Protection that are running around this country.”

Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff reportedly paid $80,000 in “hush money” to his former nanny as part of a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) but was not prosecuted, unlike Trump.
Former President Donald Trump was prosecuted in New York and convicted on 34 counts for failing to list NDA payments to porn star Stormy Daniels (a.k.a. Stephanie Clifford) as campaign expenses (he denies the affair).
Democrats, including Emhoff’s wife, Vice President Kamala Harris, have referred to Trump as a “convicted felon,” referring to the New York case. Yet Emhoff, too, allegedly paid “hush money.”

In a bizarre post-debate analysis, Politico magazine has looked into the supposed significance of J.D. Vance’s facial hair.
After Vance gave his fellow vice-presidential nominee Tim Walz during Tuesday night’s vice-presidential debate, Politico sought to dissect the candidate’s body language, including their physical features.
The piece, written by body language expert Joe Navarro, explains:
One of the first bits of nonverbal communication to appear in the debate was on JD Vance’s face: his beard. As POLITICO Magazine has noted before, Vance is the first White House wannabe to wear facial hair in 80 years.

Washington— Donald Trump laid the groundwork to try to overturn the 2020 election even before he lost, knowingly pushed false claims of voter fraud and “resorted to crimes” in his failed bid to cling to power, according to a newly unsealed court filing from prosecutors that lays out fresh details from the landmark criminal case against the former president.
The filing from special counsel Jack Smith’s team offers the most comprehensive view to date of what prosecutors intend to prove if the case charging Trump with conspiring to overturn the election reaches trial.
Though a months-long congressional investigation and the indictment itself have chronicled in stark detail Trump’s efforts to undo

Harold Daggett — the union boss who has vowed to “cripple” the US economy if ports don’t ban automation and raise dockworkers’ wages sharply — had a Bentley convertible parked outside his sprawling mansion in New Jersey this week, exclusive photos obtained by The Post reveal.
Photos taken by drone on Tuesday show the British luxury car parked with its top up outside what appears to be a five-car garage that’s connected to his 7,136-square-foot, Tudor-style home by a covered skyway.
The hulking, two-story mansion — located on a 10-acre property in Sparta, a leafy enclave 50 miles west of New York City — encircles a spacious backyard patio

Some things are true — for collectivist communists and individualist capitalists, for all people, regardless of who they are.
For decades now, Americans have been inundated with propaganda that the only entity that cares for them is found in the Democrat party, as collectivism has been promoted as America’s savior and individualism and individual liberty have been castigated as “selfish” and self-serving. But although there is no shame in looking out for one’s own interests, there is plenty of shame in it when you put the entire population and the nation at risk in the process, which is precisely what the International Longshoreman’s Association is doing,

Democrats were left disappointed by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s performance in Tuesday night’s vice presidential debate, with some saying Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, the runner-up in the Kamala Harris veepstakes, would have easily outshone Ohio GOP Sen. JD Vance.
In front of millions watching the CBS News forum, Walz, 60, had to fight through a series of self-inflicted rhetorical wounds, including calling himself a “knucklehead,” his confusion of Iran and Israel on the very first question of the debate, and his gaffe about befriending school shooters
“[Harris’] campaign has no message other than ‘I’m not Donald Trump,'” said one well-connected party source
