Firing Incompetent People Is Necessary

Original Article

“When somebody does a bad job, I fire them,” said former President Donald Trump during his recent debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. On the other hand, “They never fired one person. They didn't fire anybody having to do with Afghanistan,” Trump said, referring to the Biden-Harris administration. “Look at the economy. Look at the inflation. They didn't fire any of their economists. They have the same people.” Although Trump’s comment about the Biden-Harris administration’s propensity to not fire incompetent officials who have screwed up royally over the past four years did not garner the attention it rightfully deserves, it certainly struck a chord with me and many more Americans.

A business cannot survive without a work ethic but all of us suffer when our government is run poorly. This is especially true in the matter of national defense. There is no place in leadership for mediocrity.

I am a recently retired rural mail carrier for the USPS. During my time there, I received a disciplinary writeup for showing up early and shoveling the snow off the sidewalks in front of the PO and pathways from the parking lot to the front door. I was told that I was violating a federal contract with a professional snow removal service (if they had been doing their job, my efforts would have been unnecessary). Our daily mail was offloaded from the mail trucks in what we called "pig pens," large steel crates on wheels. One day there was only one (female) clerk to move mail from the dock to the indoor staging area, and she was unable to move a heavily overloaded pig pen, so I helped her push it indoors and out of the rain. I received a disciplinary writeup for "working outside the responsibilities of my craft." I could provide numerous other examples. In the for-profit private sector, my actions would have resulted in bonuses, pay raises, or even promotions. At the USPS, I led the league in receiving disciplinary writeups. But at least they didn't fire me for my transgressions.

More than incompetent people should be fired. Please include the unnecessary people, and those that are competent that are there to sabotage any Republican agenda.

Agree with the title. Since the administration is not doing it, it is left to the American people to shoulder the responsibility. Start with the top of the chain from the WH.

Americans are well aware of the security disaster of the Biden-Harris open southern border — including 400 illegal crossers who were flagged on the FBI terrorism watch list. But an alarming new terrorism prosecution in New York now demands American attention and diplomatic pressure be turned on Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s unprecedented mass immigration policies. Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, a 20-year-old Pakistani citizen legally allowed a Canadian student visa in June 2023, stands accused in US federal court of plotting a mass shooting of Jews in New York City, to celebrate the October 7 anniversary of the Hamas massacre in Israel.

"As a Lebanese, this is one of the happiest days in Lebanon's history.... As a human being who holds peace before my eyes, this is the most important day for our region. Last week, Iran’s leaders found themselves in a familiar position. The Israeli airstrike that killed Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, was the latest in a series of assassinations of senior figures with ties to the regime. In a short statement eulogising Nasrallah, Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, declared that Israel had “not become victorious” by carrying out the strike on Nasrallah, which he described as an “atrocity”. Khamenei insisted that Israel would face “more crushing” blows in retribution. But those blows are to come from the groups of the “resistance front” and not from Iran itself.

Iran’s reformist-led government has said it has no plans to send troops to reinforce Hezbollah in Lebanon, but it is coming under domestic pressure from hardliners seeking to exploit what they regard as a failure to stand up to Israel – and also hoping to block any discussion with the west over future oversight of Iran’s nuclear programme. Calls for a tougher Iranian response redoubled when it emerged that Brig Gen Abbas Nilforushan, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) deputy commander for Lebanon and Syria, had been killed in Beirut alongside the Hezbollah chief, Hassan Nasrallah.

John Kerry, maybe the most pompous politician of our lifetimes, admits that the First Amendment is an obstacle to the Democrats’ hard-left agenda. It’s a deeply disturbing statement perfectly in line with the party’s irrepressible authoritarian urges. At last week’s Sustainable Development Impact Meetings of the World Economic Forum, Kerry, a long-time U.S. senator from Massachusetts, secretary of state for four years of the eight-year Obama nightmare, Joe Biden’s climate czar and a failed presidential candidate, acknowledged that his party wants to censor speech that it doesn’t approve of.

Pennsylvania -- Jennifer Krantz was in the checkout line at Sprankle's grocery store in this Armstrong County city with her three boys, Brayden, Eddie and Frederick, along with her husband, Bryant, when former President Donald Trump handed the clerk waiting on them a $100 bill. "Here, it is going to go down a little bit," Trump told the clerk, to everyone's astonishment. "(Krantz's bill) is going to go down $100," Trump said. "Thank you so much," Krantz said, a little stunned by the help. Afterward, she said her cousin owns the store and that she was just hoping to do two things that day:

I realized something very important about the human condition when I was in high school. I realized that people tend to hate those who fight evil far more than they hate those engaged in doing evil. What made me come to this conclusion was the way in which many people reacted to communism and to anti-communism. To my amazement, a great many people -- specifically, all leftists and many, though not all, liberals -- hated anti-communists far more than they hated communism. Because of my early preoccupation with good and evil, already in high school, I hated communism. How could one not, I wondered.

A federal judge on Monday dismissed a lawsuit against former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo over his handling of nursing home deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic. New York families with relatives who died from COVID-19 in nursing homes filed the lawsuit in early 2022, accusing Cuomo’s administration of undercounting fatalities "During the last four years, the debate over COVID in nursing homes has been weaponized, distorted and contorted beyond recognition by those using this situation for their own politics," Cuomo spokesman Rich Azzopardi said in a statement to Fox News. "However, anytime this gets taken out of the political arena, the truth wins.
Iran's Newest Proxy: Sudan 1 reply

Iran, having just had two of its major proxies, Hamas and Hezbollah, seriously degraded, is apparently setting its sights on a new, "consolation prize" proxy to use as an additional base of operations: Sudan. Iran's strategy of supporting and infiltrating other countries and terrorist groups -- as it has done in Iraq, Syria, Gaza, Lebanon, Venezuela and Yemen -- appears as yet another extension of its strategy of moving into territories with weak or unstable governments to expand its influence throughout the Middle East, to create new fronts for its campaign to destroy Israel and bring down the world order led by the West.

Washington— Donald Trump laid the groundwork to try to overturn the 2020 election even before he lost, knowingly pushed false claims of voter fraud and “resorted to crimes” in his failed bid to cling to power, according to a newly unsealed court filing from prosecutors that lays out fresh details from the landmark criminal case against the former president. The filing from special counsel Jack Smith’s team offers the most comprehensive view to date of what prosecutors intend to prove if the case charging Trump with conspiring to overturn the election reaches trial. Though a months-long congressional investigation and the indictment itself have chronicled in stark detail Trump’s efforts to undo

Minnesota Democratic Gov. JD Vance of Ohio, gave a steady and lawyerly presentation and was widely seen as the victor. The largely good-natured forum, hosted by CBS News, featured the two candidates agreeing with each other repeatedly and expressing warm personal sentiments — avoiding the blistering personal attacks that were part of both presidential debates earlier this year. Walz, 60, who has honed a folksy demeanor on the campaign trail, was noticeably nervous and misspoke repeatedly as he wrung his hands, took frantic notes,

I don't know what the viewership numbers were on the vice presidential debate between Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) and Minnesota Gov. Vance, as RedState previously reported, wiped the floor not just with Walz but also the CBS News debate moderators, who did what they weren't supposed to do at least twice in "fact-checking" Vance, only to have him refuse to be silenced by fact-checking them right back.

Elon Musk secretly funded a conservative political group in recent years, according to four people familiar with his donations, illustrating quiet financial support for right-wing causes even before the billionaire entrepreneur in July endorsed former President Donald Trump's bid for re-election. Two of the people familiar with the donations told Reuters that Musk's contributions to the organization, Building America's Future, had started by 2022. One of those people and a third source said the donations amounted to millions of dollars, significantly boosting a group whose advertisements and social media campaigns have criticized the Biden administration and progressive political platforms of the sort that Musk himself has increasingly denounced.

But although there is no shame in looking out for one’s own interests, there is plenty of shame in it when you put the entire population and the nation at risk in the process, which is precisely what the International Longshoreman’s Association is doing,
