The television ratings of the first night of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) sunk 22 percent from 2016, according to Nielsen. The ratings crash suggests that Vice President Kamala Harris is far less popular than the media purported.About 20 million people watched the first night of the DNC, up from 2020’s virtual convention but severely down from 2016, Axios reported:Around 19.1 million viewers watched the DNC live from 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. ET during the president’s speech. Before the advent of cable, all 3 major broadcast TV networks covered the political conventions. Th conventions were all that were “ on TV”.

Ratings an popularity mean nothing. The number of ballots counted for Kamala, real and fraudulent is all that matters in this election.

Given the number of empty seats at the convention, the crowd size has undergone a lot of shrinkage as well. I would be there but watching my grapes turn from green to purple is taking up all of my time.

That's because the box of rocks purveyor of word salads is a usurper, an interloper, a fraud, and the beneficiary of a coup d'etat and everyone knows it. Nor did it help them that the first night lineup of speakers was a dumpster fire of screechy women no one wanted to listen to.

At one time the delegates at these conventions were the center of attention. They could jockey for influence on different issues and sometimes influence who got nominated. Now it's a fantasyland of heaping praise on a mediocre politician with a sketchy resume.

People are voting for their "team", not Kamala. Her cadence is so annoying that even those who plan to vote for her, don't want to listen to her. They just want their abortions and their open border, and they will tolerate her to get it.

“To jaw-jaw is always better than to war-war,” Winston Churchill reportedly said. We will soon know if Iran agrees. The talks scheduled for Saturday between Iran and the United States are shaping up as a crucial test of the mad mullahs’ intentions. If they are hell-bent on building nuclear weapons, war is inevitable. It would be war with Israel and probably with America, too. For Iran, that means taking on the Little Satan and the Great Satan simultaneously. That’s what the crazy mullahs always said they wanted. If it hasn’t occurred to them yet, soon they will realize what a colossal mistake they have made.

The North Carolina Supreme Court halted a previous order from the state appeals court requiring the verification of 65,000 questionable ballots. This case has been bouncing around between state and federal courts. Last week the North Carolina Court of Appeals ruled that approximately 65,000 ballots — cast by voters with incomplete registration information, missing photo identification, or submitted by individuals who have never lived in North Carolina — may be invalid under state and federal election law. The 2-1 decision was authored by Judges John Tyson and Fred Gore both registered Republicans.

The Trump administration is proposing a $998 a day fine for illegal migrants who refuse to self-deport. The suggested policy could also result in the confiscation of property if the migrants do not pay the fines. A similar plan was put in place in 2018 during Trump’s first term in office and is reportedly based on a law passed in 1996, according to a report by Reuters. The policy in 2018 was far more narrowly invoked. Trump used the 1996 law to levy fines on nine migrants who had taken shelter inside churches, eventually imposing a $60,000 per migrant fine in that case.

Washington — The Supreme Court on Tuesday blocked an order for the Trump administration to return to work thousands of federal employees who were let go in mass firings aimed at dramatically downsizing the federal government. The justices acted in the administration’s emergency appeal of a ruling by a federal judge in California ordering that 16,000 probationary employees be reinstated while a lawsuit plays out because their firings didn’t follow federal law. The effect of the high court’s order will keep employees in six federal agencies on paid administrative leave for now. Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ketanji Brown Jackson said they would have kept the judge’s order in place.

Yes, you may have guessed that I'm talking about the most obnoxious person in politics at the moment, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas). A federal judge on Tuesday ordered the White House to restore the Associated Press’s access to presidential events, saying that the decision to impose limitations violated the news organization’s free speech rights. U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden ruled that it was unconstitutional for the Trump administration to punish the AP because it refused to change its style guidance for the Gulf of Mexico, which President Trump renamed the Gulf of America. McFadden ordered the White House to restore the AP’s access to the Oval Office, Air Force One, “and other limited spaces when such spaces are made open to other members of the White House press pool.”

WASHINGTON — The White House warned Monday that President Trump would veto a bipartisan bill that would mandate congressional approval of all tariffs should it arrive on his desk. Trump’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) said the measure introduced last week by Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.) “would severely constrain the President’s ability to use authorities long recognized by Congress and upheld by the courts to respond to national emergencies and foreign threats.” The Trade Review Act also “eliminates leverage over foreign trading partners, inhibits reshoring and supply chain resilience, fosters market uncertainty, and introduces procedural micromanagement,” the OMB Statement of Administration Policy added.
