Harris proposes 28 percent corporate income tax rate
Vice President Harris proposed raising the corporate income tax rate to 28 percent as the Democratic National Convention kicks off in Chicago.
(Photo) “As President, Kamala Harris will focus on creating an opportunity economy for the middle class that advances their economic security, stability, and dignity,” Harris campaign spokesperson James Singer told The Hill.
Harris has been building out her policy platforms and positions in the run-up to the convention, releasing a series of economic proposals last week that included attacking corporate “price gouging.”

For the thousandth time: where do corporations get the revenue to pay their taxes? From the products they sell. Higher taxes = higher price of said products.

Yes sheep, the corporations will swallow the increase and you will get riches untold. On your way to utopia because you voted for the me, The "OpenBorderCzar". I have some more plans but my handlers have told me no interviews to discuss any level of details. Trust Me.

OK, Kommie Kamala Kameleon, hike corporate taxes then go after the corporations that pass taxes on to consumers as "price gougers;" then those corporations will (A) reincorporate offshore OR (B) go bankrupt.
> With option (A) Americans are usually deprived of jobs as they follow the headquarters AND the tax base is now missing that corporations' input.
> With option (B) Americans lose jobs, as well as the corporations paying taxes, but now the vacuum is filled by cheap Chinese products or foreign-based services.
Democrats NEVER make good economists... even those who win Nobel Prizes.

If Kamala raises taxes on McDonalds by 15%, McDonalds raises the price of a Big Mac by 15%. We pay corporate taxes... corporations only collects taxes from us, and sends the cash to Washington. The plan to raise taxes on business is a plan to raise taxes on USA taxpayers.

Kamala knows that when somebody says "corporate profits", the average not-too-bright voter is going to picture corpulent plutocrats puffing expensive cigars lit with hundred-dollar bills. In fact, corporate "profits" are merely the dividends paid to ordinary stockholders. Among the biggest holders of corporate stock, either directly or through mutual funds, are pension funds. Cut corporate profits by increasing taxes and pensioners will see their pension checks shrink accordingly. The words "taxing corporate profits" should have the same resonance with older Americans that "cutting social security benefits" has.

Raise taxes on big evil corporations is a big applause line, but who does it actually help? Instead of having money to invest in R&D, expand operations, build new facilities, pass on earnings to shareholders, pay better wages & benefits, or just hold the cash for a rainy day; the government takes it to "invest" in wasteful bureaucracy that produces nothing and benefits nobody except government employees.

A lot of big corporation CEO's are Democrats. They are the ones that make the big salaries. They embrace all of this because they know it is the customers/taxpayers who will pay for all of it. The salaries for these CEO's will increase as well.

Yeah, that should bring inflated prices down almost overnight. What a brilliant woman. She should bring Paul Krugman into her cabinet to really kill the economy.

During a conversation a long while ago, a good friend and financial advisor suddenly raised his voice in exasperation and sternly stated, “CORPORATIONS DON’T PAY TAXES. PEOPLE PAY TAXES.” Suddenly, everything he was saying made sense.
