On Monday’s broadcast of NewsNation’s “Cuomo,” Democratic strategist James Carville reacted to criticism of the Biden White House for its proclamation of Transgender Day of Visibility falling on Easter by stating, “as if Biden even knew it was” Transgender Day of Visibility and saying that he doesn’t think that “anybody in the White House was aware of” the overlap between Transgender Day of Visibility and Easter.
Carville said, “What I honestly think, it’s profoundly stupid, as if Biden even knew it was transgender awareness day. By the way, Biden goes to Mass and Communion every week, as you well know. You couldn’t find Trump in the inside

LSU's women's basketball team sparked outrage prior to their game against Iowa on Monday night after leaving the court before the American national anthem was played.
The LSU Tigers were beaten 94-87 by the Iowa Hawkeyes in Albany, where the latter's star player Caitlin Clark put on a 41-point masterclass to help her team advance to the Final Four of this year's NCAA tournament.
Yet earlier in the evening, footage on social media appeared to show that LSU players skipped the national anthem before it played out at Times Union Center.
Iowa stars, meanwhile, stood hand-in-hand while taking in the Star-Spangled Banner

US home insurance rates will hit a record high this year, according to grim new forecasts.
The typical annual premium will rise to $2,522 by the end of 2024, according to insurance comparison platform Insurify - up 6 percent on a year before.
This projected increase for 2024 comes on the back of a 20 percent hike over the last two years. This has largely been driven by escalating natural disasters, insurers pulling out of certain areas - which cuts down on competition - and higher fees for home repairs. Soaring costs mean home insurance is becoming increasingly unaffordable for many Americans - with many opting to forego

The data shows that when Democrats help register young voters, they end up registering people who will vote for Trump. Now they are considering not even holding voter registration drives in target markets because they align with Trump.
WAPO – […] A confidential memo circulated among top Democratic donors has sparked a furious debate in Democratic circles about whether to narrow the focus of voter registration efforts to avoid signing up likely Republicans.

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg made fun of Americans who don't want to buy electric cars, claiming they're the same as people didn't want to adapt to cell phones in the 2000s.
It comes as at least eight states run by Democrats like Buttigieg are planning to ban non-electric vehicles by 2032.
Buttigieg was speaking on Fox News Tuesday afternoon when he was asked about a downturn in sales of Teslas and electric vehicles in general despite Biden's administration pushing them. He said: 'Let's be clear, the automotive sector is moving toward EVs and we can't pretend otherwise.

Prices at fast food restaurants increased at a rate that far exceeds inflation over the last decade, according to a new analysis from FinanceBuzz.

The data shows that prices have doubled at McDonald's over that time. FinanceBuzz noted that the average price of a McDouble increased from $1.19 in 2014 to $3.19 currently.

Claims made by global consulting firm McKinsey that diversity, equity and inclusion policies (DEI) increase a company’s profitability don’t hold water, according to a Monday report from Econ Journal Watch (EJW).
McKinsey published several studies in 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2023 — often titled along the lines of “Diversity Matters,” or “Diversity Wins” — claiming that there is a statistically significant positive relationship between a company’s financial performance and the percentage of racial and ethnic diversity among its executives, according to EJW. EJW could not produce such findings when conducting its own version of such a study, calling into question the quality of McKinsey’s methods

I have to admit that for a while, there was a small part of me that was rooting for RFK Jr. I wanted to see him unhorse Joe Biden. I still do. Even when I heard him speak back in November, I realized that despite some centrist bullet points, the man was on the left. But I also reasoned that if the choice came down to RFK Jr. and Biden, RFK was likely to inflict less collateral damage than Biden would as a lame-duck.
To be fair, while Trump supporters are resolute in their choice of presidential candidate, there will likely be plenty of down-ballots in November

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a former Democrat turned independent running for president in 2024 as a third party candidate, said the argument can be made President Joe Biden is a “much worse threat to democracy” than former President Donald Trump.
Kennedy made the remark during an appearance on CNN’s Outfront with Erin Burnett, who asked, “A moment ago, you said you essentially see Trump and Biden as the same, different issues, but do you really believe that?”
“When people talk about the threats of democracy that Trump poses, do you really think that is as equal — equal to Biden?” she pressed.

The news on Monday morning was dominated by stories of an economic recovery by Red China of a recession that the U.S. press had largely ignored. (Snip)
John Austin of the Brookings Institute wrote in Time magazine, “Conventional wisdom that [Red[ China’s economy would eclipse the U.S. in a decade—maybe even sooner—is looking uncertain. The view that [Red] China was the emerging geopolitical power, with developing nations tucked under its wings, is looking similarly shaky. It is now unclear whether [Red] China’s GDP will ever surpass the U.S. and nations around the world are rethinking their ties to Beijing and the debt trap that is the Belt and Road Initiative.
