Minnesota’s chief legal officer is among a group of 13 attorneys general that have notified pistol manufacturer Glock of a possible lawsuit over how easy it is to turn its pistols into machine guns. Attorney General Keith Ellison was joined by the attorneys general for 11 other states, plus the District of Columbia, in its letter to Glock.

Seems the same ignorant lawfare mentality being used to sue vehicle manufactures for making cars people want to steal is now being used on the gun manufactures. The problem is there are no consequences for this kind of judicial terrorism, the ones engaging in it know it, as such it will only ever get worse.

So if they have a trial, won't they have to reveal how you can turn a Glock into a fully automatic "machine gun"? And won't that be public information, that will flood the Internet and cause a lot more Glocks to be turned into "machine guns"? Gang bangers everywhere are going to love this!!!

Fully automatic weapons are only practical if you have an unlimited supply of free ammunition. They were fun in the military but pretty useless because you dont hit anything. Nowadays, with ammunition as expensive as it is, I much prefer slow semi-auto fire with an emphasis on the number of hits; not the number of shots. I hadn't heard of Glocks being easily converted. Knowing these commie sobs it may not even be true. How would you even hold onto it?

NOT being a gun expert, I did some on line research. It seems SOME Glocks are available for military and police purchase that are fully automatic. This is legal and several weapons come in the semi auto variant for general purchase and fully auto for military/police purchase. This is a Nothing Burger. The article is completely absent of any useful information to make any further judgement about the validity such a claim by these officials. Of course, that is par for the course these days. Government makes an accusation and as it proceeds to deeper investigation, it completely falls apart. Maybe some criminals are reverse engineering Glocks to make them fully automatic. That is not Glock's responsibility. This is like suing fertilizer companies because terrorists use fertilizer to make a bomb.

They way they are being converted is by using a device called a "Glock Switch", most of them coming from China.

Keith Ellison is insane, and should be disbarred. He's just a litigation machine that got out of control. The only fully automatic Glock is the Glock 18, a machine pistol that is available only to military and law enforcement, not to the general public. The G18 (or compensated G18C) has a cyclic rate of about 1200 rounds per minute, which, with the selector switch set to full auto, would empty a 33 round magazine (aka "fun stick") in less than two seconds. But what real world use would a pistol like this have? The so-called Glock switch is a part not made or recommended by Glock that would turn a semiautomatic pistol into fully automatic. The G18 was originally made for the Austrian military, but is not as useful as one might imagine. For one thing, machine pistols are very hard to shoot accurately. Police departments find M16s and M4s to be much more effective against heavily armed criminals. Turning a Glock 17 into a fake Glock 18 is a stupid idea. Earlier this month I saw a video of a gang banger who pulled out two guns, one a large pistol with a 50-round drum magazine and full automatic capability. Before the cops executed him, he had sprayed some rounds toward them, but didn't come near hitting them. If you see a perp with a set up like this, he's not going to hit anything he's aiming at, because he can't really aim. As I said before, Glock does not manufacture these illegal parts, and should not be successfully sued by greedy prosecutors like Ellison.

Here's the police video of the shootout with the criminal with a machine pistol and a fully automatic rifle, referenced in my reply above. Note that the pistol with the drum magazine malfunctioned immediately, as these things tend to do, so the bad guy dumped it and picked up another firearm. Then the Baltimore police filled him in and he took the asphalt temperature challenge. The perp fired 33 rounds; the cops fired 40 rounds. He missed; they didn't. Ya like to see that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pYgZU-t_MQ&t=282s (Active Self Protection)

Thank you for posting the link to that excellent video. I was most impressed by the several officers who ran toward the perp while the perp was shooting everything in sight. That is remarkable courage. Very different from the cops' actions during the Uvalde school massacre.
