Political pollster Frank Luntz is no fan of Donald Trump but he sees the former president back in the White House if the current persecution against him continues.
Luntz issued a direct message to New York Attorney General Letitia James and warned that the legal machinations against the presumptive 2024 Republican nominee could backfire, speaking specifically about reports that James may be preparing to seize Trump properties as part of the civil fraud case she brought against him.
During a CNN panel discussion, Luntz cautioned the New York AG not to “play politics” lest her efforts propel Trump to a victory in November.

April’s total solar eclipse promises to be a scientific bonanza, thanks to new spacecraft and telescopes — and cosmic chance.
The moon will be extra close to Earth, providing a long and intense period of darkness, and the sun should be more active with the potential for dramatic bursts of plasma. Then there’s totality’s densely populated corridor stretching from Mexico to the U.S. to Canada.
Hundreds if not thousands of the tens of millions of spectators will double as “citizen scientists,” helping NASA and other research groups better understand our planet and star.
They’ll photograph the sun’s outer crownlike atmosphere, or corona, as the moon passes between the sun and Earth,

One of the many weaknesses Democrats have is their inability to understand the opposition.
This was most evident following former President Donald Trump’s upset victory against Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election.
Democrats were left shell-shocked and bewildered because they just didn’t get Trump’s appeal, nor did they comprehend how repulsive the former secretary of state was to ordinary Americans.
Still, it seems they may get another crack at learning this lesson in the 2024 presidential race, if MSNBC host and former White House press secretary Jen Psaki is any indication.
She correctly identified the threat a strong third-party candidate presents to President Joe Biden’s re-election bid

Over the years, investigations and reports have revealed a disturbing culture of corruption, favoritism, and cover-ups among the leaders of the U.S. Capitol Police (USCP). With incidents dating back to the late 1990s, high-ranking officials, including assistant chiefs and deputies, have been implicated in various forms of misconduct including fraud, forgery, obstruction of justice, and others.
A new Blaze Media investigation highlights some of the shadier aspects of the USCP, detailing a culture in which misconduct not only goes unpunished, but is often rewarded. “Corruption is endemic at the highest levels of the United States Capitol Police,” the report reads.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken wrapped up a trip to Israel on Friday, having failed to convince Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu and the rest of the leadership there to essentially surrender to Hamas.

Members of the Biden administration suffered embarrassment earlier in the morning after their "ceasefire" resolution went down in the flames at the UN. They are such amateurs that they can't even throw Israel under the bus without screwing it up.
Blinken continued to try, though, meeting with Netanyahu and lecturing him on the finer points of combating Hamas. You know, because if anyone knows about defeating terrorists,

The southern border has seen an overwhelming number of illegal immigrants since day one of President Joe Biden’s term.
In February, there were more than 189,922 illegal alien encounters— higher than the 156,000 encounters at the southern border in February 2023.
On Thursday, nearly 100 illegal immigrants rushed the southern border, bursting through razor wire and surging the El Paso, Texas border wall.
On top of the ongoing border crisis, the federal government was facing a looming shutdown pending the passing of a spending bill. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed that regardless of what would have happened, Biden still planned to check out for the weekend,

Donald Trump was right. It's going to be a bloodbath when China's BYD starts selling its "fun-to-drive" Seagull EV in this country at a price not even Tesla can match.
The five-door hatchback doesn't have the best range or fanciest amenities. But what it does have is a top price under $14,000, good safety features, aggressive looks, and plenty of financial backing from Beijing. BYD's specialties are batteries and high-tech manufacturing, and they're using both to aggressively expand overseas production and deliveries.
An improved version for South American markets, called the Dolphin Mini, is already on sale, starting at $21,990.

A convicted mom-killer and serial escape artist has done it again, walking away from a California halfway house where he was supposed to stay after a judge cut him loose.
Ike Souzer, 20, described by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office as an “extremely dangerous and violent” offender who stabbed his mother to death when he was just 13, was set free on Wednesday after pleading guilty to felony vandalism.
Souzer was sentenced to 90 days in jail, followed by two years of probation — but Orange County Superior Court Judge Larry Yellin gave him time served.
Prosecutors “strongly objected” to the lenient punishment in light of Souzer’s violent criminal history,

A conservative investment fund group is pulling its holdings of Tyson Foods over the meat and poultry giant’s hiring of migrant and refugee workers — claiming the employment practice will repel customers.
The American Conservative Values ETF, an exchange-traded fund managed by Ridgeline Research LLC, divested from the company and slapped a “refuse to buy” rating on its stocks for its clientele.
“We believe Tyson’s management has blundered into a political minefield (and should have known better),” Ridgeline founder and CEO Bill Flaig told Fox Business on Monday.
Many Americans are outraged by the ongoing migrant crisis at the southern border and learning Tyson is giving jobs to asylum-seekers

Someone forgot to read the room.
Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) was ripped Friday for complaining about his scheduled CNN interview being bumped in favor of Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, announcing she had been diagnosed with cancer.
Shortly before 2 p.m., as word spread that Kensington Palace would soon issue a major update on the princess’ health, Murphy told journalist Yashar Ali: “Can confirm!”
“I was supposed to be on CNN at 2pm to talk about the anniversary of the Affordable Care Act and the millions of lives it has saved, but my interview has been bumped by this much more important topic,” Murphy, 50, added on X.

The Princess of Wales has announced tonight that she has been diagnosed with cancer aged 42 and is undergoing ‘preventative’ chemotherapy. In a deeply emotional video message, filmed at Windsor on Wednesday, Catherine revealed the news had come as a ‘huge shock’ and that she and William ‘have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family’. The diagnosis came days after she was seen smiling with Prince William as they left their favourite farm shop close to their Windsor home. Speaking from a bench surrounded by daffodils and spring blossom, she said:

You can already hear the same old scam revving up, this time about Haiti – yet again. I remember 30 years ago when we were going to fix Haiti. And since I read history, I know about 100 years ago when we were also going to fix Haiti. Now, our garbage ruling class is on the verge of demanding we try to fix Haiti yet again. Spoiler – you can’t fix Haiti. And it’s not worth one single American life trying to.
That’s not to say Haiti isn’t a mess and that we shouldn’t provide some humanitarian aid. Look, Haiti had it hard from the beginning.
