Kamala Harris recently took to Twitter and heaped praise on a pair of supposedly non-partisan poll workers, saying that ‘our democracy’ could not function without such people.
She was almost immediately called out however, by sharp-eyed Twitter/X users who recognized one of the men as a far left activist.
What are the odds that Harris didn’t know this when she sent her initial tweet?

President Joe Biden met with border agents along the banks of the Rio Grande on Thursday during his visit to the southern border as Donald Trump got his own tour 324 miles away.
The president's trip panned by critics as a campaign 'photo op' began with his motorcade driving along the 20-foot fence separating the United States and Mexico.
The 81-year-old then met with members of the Border Patrol, hours after the head of their union warned Biden to 'keep our name out of your mouth'. The 2024 rivals headed to Texas with recent polls showing immigration becoming the number one concern for most Americans.

Vulnerable Democrat Sens. Bob Casey (D-PA), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), and Jon Tester (D-MT) are facing criticism for their soft-on-crime voting record after the murder of Laken Riley.
Riley, a 22-year-old Augusta University nursing student killed allegedly by an illegal alien released into the United States, is the latest American woman to fall victim to the federal government’s inability to enforce immigration law. The tragedy has cast renewed attention on the fate of Kate Steinle, a 32-year-old murdered in 2015 allegedly by a seven-time felon, five-time deported illegal alien, Jose Garcia Zarate. He was acquitted of murder but convicted for federal gun charges in association with the murder.

On a day made for split screens and picture-in-picture, former President Donald Trump and President Biden made near-simultaneous trips to Texas Thursday and offered very different prescriptions for the migrant crisis that has overwhelmed authorities at the US-Mexico border.
In Eagle Pass, ground zero for the most recent surge, Trump decried what he called a “Joe Biden invasion” of American territory. In Brownsville, 325 miles to the southeast, Biden, 81, demanded Republicans in Congress “show a little spine” and approve a bipartisan supplemental spending bill that he said offered “more resources” to address the crisis.

Late Wednesday afternoon, the Supreme Court announced they’d hear the case on presidential immunity as it relates to Special Counsel Jack Smith’s January 6 criminal case against former President Trump. Naturally, this decision left the liberal media — including ABC and NBC on Wednesday night and Thursday morning — enraged this could further delay what they hope leads to Trump’s imprisonment.
Instead of letting the D.C. Court of Appeals’s decision against Trump stand, the Court decided it would weigh in on whether a president is immune from prosecution, which is, in fact, a big deal. In other words, the kind of topic the high court exists to answer.

A key measure of inflation rose last month at the fastest pace since March of 2022.
The personal consumption expenditure price index for services excluding housing and energy services—often called “super core” inflation—rose 0.6 percent in January. This inflation gauge rose this much in March of 2022, December of 2021, and in March of 2021.
It is historically rare for this metric of inflation to rise at this high of a monthly pace. Prior to Biden’s presidency, it had only happened three times in this century, including a single month immediately following the 9/11 terror attacks. Before that, the measure had not jumped 0.6 percent since 1993.

In recent days, Border Patrol officials revealed that just since October 1st -- the start of the new fiscal year -- nearly 6,500 known criminals have been apprehended at the border by US authorities. That number likely doesn't even come close to reflecting the number of criminals who've entered the country during that period of time, given the fact that the American government has uneven-to-no access to arrest records in foreign countries. It's also quite likely that at least some illegal immigrants with criminal records inside America also fall through the cracks, as database coordination can be imperfect, to say the least.

For those of a certain age, there’s a whiff of 1970s-style stagflation in the air. It was a period of high inflation, insufficient growth, and, to borrow a phrase, near-universal cultural and economic malaise. Everyone felt as if they were falling behind.
After a 40-year stretch of low inflation, solid growth and rising real incomes, the economy has returned to its dire ’70s-version.

Text messages between Nathan Wade's divorce attorney, Terrence Bradley, and an attorney for a co-defendant of Donald Trump communicated frequently via text message, showing damning information about Wade's affair with Fani Willis.
Bradley, Wade's former divorce attorney and law partner, took the stand Tuesday, where he was shown a series of text messages in which he spoke about the timeline of Willis and Wade's relationship - one of the central issues of the trial.
Michael Roman and other co-defendants in Trump's case are seeking for District Attorney Fanni Willis, 53, to be disqualified over what they term was an 'improper' relationship.

Nikki Haley suffered another blowout loss to Donald Trump in Michigan on Tuesday. It’s not a primary—you cannot say that when one candidate consistently gets put through the shredder in every contest. Haley has yet to win anything but insists on giving the GOP base a choice. Does she not know that the party has already done so? There may be some ambivalence and skepticism about a third Trump run, but what is unequivocal is that the Republican Party does not want Nikki Haley.
Haley got damaged out of the gate in Iowa, and her aspirations to be the 2024 Republican nominee should have been cremated

MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow said Wednesday on “All In” that the Supreme Court taking the case to decide whether former Donald Trump is immune from prosecution was a craven attempt to help the former president.
Maddow said, “The cravenness of the court is evident in what they are doing with the pacing here. You know, putting this off for seven weeks and sitting on it for two weeks for no reason. Obviously, pushing all of the cases that they can push to a point where Trump will be standing for election before any of us have heard the verdicts in any of those cases. Got it. It is the timing.

When Aaron Bushnell, an Antifa member and Air Force Airman, set himself on fire in front of the Israeli embassy in Washington D.C., Hamas supporters in this country made him into a martyr. Cornel West praised Bushnell’s “extraordinary courage and commitment.” [SNIP] When three black Army soldiers were murdered in an Iranian-backed Islamic terror attack back in January, Aaron Bushnell posted it to the Antifa ACAB (All Cops are Bast****s) Reddit group with a mocking “OhNoAnyway.jpg” meme. “The cops are the domestic military and the military is the international police. They are bad for the exact same reasons,” Aaron Bushnell posted.

Hamas’ savage attack on Israeli civilians on October 7 sparked “woke” leftist protests at prestigious universities. [SNIP]. Campus “cancel culture,” the silencing of dissenting opinions and ideas, ran amok. [SNIP] One exception, however, was Dartmouth University. Its president, Sian Beiloc, has created the Dartmouth Dialogues program. “I don’t want safe spaces, I want brave spaces,” she told the Wall Street Journal. “The idea is to be around the brightest minds and to be pushed and to be a little uncomfortable. Even if you’re not going to change your mind, the ability to hone your arguments and to think differently from different perspectives, these are skills and tools of higher education.”

You've probably seen the breathless headlines emerging this week featuring Joe Biden suggesting that a ceasefire deal in Gaza was "close" to being finalized and that at least some hostages and prisoners could be exchanged. Most of us would likely be glad to see hostages coming home, so that's good news, right? And Biden assured us that he'd gotten that information from National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, so the claim must have been pretty solid. There's only one problem with the story and the assumptions that followed, though. As the Free Beacon quickly pointed out, some reporters had been following up with their sources in Israel and around
