A trial date has been set in Donald Trump's New York hush-money case. Jury selection will begin on Monday 25 March, a judge ruled today, turning down requests for a delay from Trump's lawyers. The case centres on years-old accusations that Trump sought to bury stories about extramarital affairs that emerged during his 2016 presidential campaign. Prosecutors claim he paid off two women - porn star Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal - as well as a Trump Tower doorman who claimed to have a story about Trump having a child outside of marriage. Trump denies having any of the sexual encounters.

Democrats disapprove of the U.S. government’s handling of migrant crossings at the southern border more now than at any other recorded point during Joe Biden’s presidency, according to a new report from the Pew Research Center.
Seventy-three percent of surveyed Democrats rate the government’s handling of the influx of migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border as “somewhat bad” or “very bad,” according to the report — only 11 percentage points lower than Democrats’ disapproval ratings in 2019 during Donald Trump’s presidency.
The numbers from the report released Thursday mark a grim trend for Biden.

Greg Abbott announced Friday that Eagle Pass will be home to a new 80-acre base camp for hundreds of personnel in the Texas Military Department in an effort to expand operations at the border. The prison service reportedly said the cause of Navalny's death was still to be established.
