NORMAN, Okla. — “Beer For My Horses” singer-songwriter Toby Keith has died. He was 62.
Keith, who was battling stomach cancer, passed peacefully on Monday surrounded by his family, according to a statement posted on the country singer’s website. “He fought his fight with grace and courage,” the statement said. He was diagnosed in 2022.
Sometimes a polarizing figure in country music, the 6-foot-4 singer broke out in the country boom years of the 1990s, crafting an identity around his macho, pro-American swagger and writing songs that fans loved to hear. Over his career he publicly clashed with other celebrities and journalists

Saw him on the sideline at an OU game this last fall. Knew it wouldn't be long seeing how ill he was. Enjoyed his humor and song. Condolences to the family, friends and loved ones.

Singer-songwriter Toby Keith was truly a country star and he will be missed. I went to 2 concerts of his and he/his ensemble were electrifying. May he rest in peace. So young at 62.

Aw, hell.... I liked him and his music. “I Ain’t As Good As I Once Was” struck home with me.
Adios, brother.

I was born in Norman, okla...but grew up in Texas. worked in the oil patch, played fiddle in po-dunk red dirt roadhouses(until I got my hand smashed in a drilling rig accident, two fingers sewed back on)...was back in Texas for my 40th highschool reunion, an old buddy and I went for a two tank drive, up back roads and down memory lanes, singing along to old favorite songs, and newer ones we'd never heard together but found we both liked. Toby Keiths songs figured prominently in that latter category.
Many a song required a "Pause Button" followed by one of us saying... "Remember that time?...Or Remember that Girl...or remember that Bar in???...or remember that dude....remember that fight???"
Let me say this about Nat'lee Main(Who???) and Steve Earle, as well as anyone else who complains about some "aggressive lyrics"....Texans learned looooooong ago, if everyone knows you are not afraid to "Go to Boots", you'll seldom ever need to.
Accepting the unacceptable..."To be nice", is unsustainable, and will eventually require something "Uncomfortable" to be applied, often much to late, after too much damage has already been done.
This applies in a Small Town, and on the world geo-political stage..

Disappointing but not surprising that the AP opens with the slur he was polarizing. That's leftist-speak for he was a decent, patriotic man who loved his family and country.

We lost another authentic country music legend. He really accomplished a great deal in his career. He LOVED his state and was fiercely proud of Oklahoma. He loved his family and was a good good man. We will always have his music.
Prayers for his family on this tremendously painful loss. He was only 62.

A great Oklahoman and a proud American. I feel he still had a lot of music left to share with the world. Gone too soon. RIP Toby.

The mRNA shots seriously damage the immune system, so all disease processes are able to avoid effective body response.
Cancers are more likely to occur and less likely to be treatable in all who had the mRNA shots. More shots, more damage to immune system.

According to the article, Toby Keith was disliked by hardcore lefties like Kris Kristofferson, Natalie Maines and Steve Earle. That makes Toby Keith a patriot in my book.
