President Donald Trump released a fiery statement on his Truth Social platform on Friday.
This comes after his abrupt walkout from the New York City courtroom, where the E. Jean Carroll defamation case is being heard.
The case took an unexpected turn when Judge Lewis Kaplan, a Clinton appointee, reportedly threatened Trump’s attorney, Alina Habba, with jail time and denied a request to refute sexual abuse allegations.
The courtroom witnessed tense moments earlier. Judge Kaplan mandated silence, stating, “No interruptions, no audible comments,” following some objections, presumably from Trump’s legal team.

BuzzFeed and Vice Media, two failing left-wing sites, are starting to sell off their parts, reports the Wall Street Journal.
“BuzzFeed … is looking to sell its food sites, Tasty and First We Feast, according to people familiar with the situation,” writes the Wall Street Journal. “Meanwhile, Fortress Investment Group, which took over Vice in bankruptcy last year, is in talks to sell its Refinery29 women’s lifestyle-focused site[.]”
The Wall Street Journal portrays these developments in much too narrow of a way — as “yet another chapter in the demise of these digital-media companies that raised money at sky-high valuations nearly a decade ago only to struggle

Chaos erupted at the E. Jean Carroll defamation trial on Friday when Donald Trump stormed out of court and the judge warned his lawyer Alina Habba she was close to 'spending time in lockup'.
The former president, 77, dramatically walked out when Carroll's lawyer said the jury should punish Trump, claiming 'he thinks the rules don't apply to him,' and asking for damages of at least $24 million.
After Trump left senior U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan said: 'The record will reflect that Mr. Trump just rose and walked out of the courtroom.'

Former Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, hardcore anti-Trumpers and the only two Republicans to serve on the January 6 committee, have both thrown their weight behind Nikki Haley for president.
Kinzinger announced on X that he donated $250 to Haley’s campaign even after she lost to former President Trump in the New Hampshire primary.“I just donated $250 to [Haley], I want to make sure I am never invited to that cheap and awful S-hole club called Mar-A-Lago. I don’t want to catch weak victimitis. I’m Thankful that sweaty Don gave us a way to ban ourselves,” said Kinzinger.

Over half of America's governors are backing Texas' Greg Abbott in his bitter standoff with President Joe Biden over who should have the authority to apprehend migrants at the border.
Abbott reasserted the state's right to protect its own border after the Supreme Court ruled the Biden administration could take down razor wire Texas had installed along high-traffic areas of the border.
Meanwhile Texas Border Czar Mike Banks told ranchers Wednesday the state could install razor wire on their private property free of charge, the state official told a packed room of ranchers who met just outside of Eagle Pass, Texas.
Abbott said the federal government failed at its duty

I was going to avoid commenting on the Fani Willis comedy routine playing in Atlanta. But after the last week’s events, I’m busting at the seams with snark. So here goes.
The Atlanta district attorney, Fani Willis, decided to play superhero in her own performance art production to rescue the Dems from their disastrous decision to let gropey Joe lead the party. She figured she could clear the field for Joe by indicting Donald Trump, and 18 others, on federal racketeering charges. It seems that the Donald did the same thing that every losing Democrat since Al Gore has done: he questioned the vote-counting.

I am reminded of an important lesson I received as a kid, when a friend of my father spent weeks trying to help my dad figure out what was wrong with our family car. For weeks on Saturdays, I would watch these two inexperienced men attempt to fix a jammed motor. My dad would pay his friend for the help, but it wasn’t until later that a real mechanic informed my dad someone had poured syrup into the gas tank, which caused sugar to expand within the pistons of the engine, thereby disabling our already old VW station wagon. The culprit was my dad’s friend.

Donald Trump will be allowed to stay on the 2024 primary ballot in Maine until the Supreme Court rules on a similar case in Colorado.
The state's top court declined getting involved in an appeal to keep the ex-president off the ticket, and now leaves the case's fate with the nation's highest court.
Democratic Secretary of State Shenna Bellows concluded that Trump didn't meet ballot qualifications under the insurrection clause in the Constitution. But a judge put that decision on hold pending the Supreme Court's decision on the similar case in Colorado.
In a unanimous decision on Wednesday, the Maine Supreme Judicial Court dismissed Bellows' appeal of the order requiring her

United Auto Workers (UAW) President Shawn Fain said “a great majority” of American union workers in the auto industry “will not vote for” President Joe Biden against presumptive Republican presidential nominee former President Donald Trump.
“Look, let me be clear about this. A great majority of our members will not vote for President Biden. Yes, some will. But that’s the reality of this,” Fain told Neil Cavuto: The majority of our members are going to vote with their paychecks, they’re going to vote for an economy that works for them, they’re going to vote for a president — when you look at these two presidents, the choice is very clear

It was exactly five years ago today, on January 25th, 2019, that 29 heavily-armed FBI agents in full SWAT gear and brandishing fully automatic M4 assault weapons surrounded my home to take me into custody for the entirely fabricated crime of lying under oath to Congress in my voluntary testimony before the House Intelligence Committee in their investigation into nonexistent “Russian collusion” with Donald Trump’s presidential campaign in 2016.
As I’m sure many will remember, CNN just happened to coincidentally have a camera crew positioned a mere 25-feet from the front door of my home.

Joe Biden, or more likely his handlers, levied an ultimatum on Thursday, demanding that Gov. Greg Abbott relinquish control of the "disputed" border areas Texas has been securing. That came after 25 states joined together to pledge their support to Abbott as he battles the federal government and its refusal to enforce immigration laws. The date for the demand is set for Friday, January 26th, with the Biden administration saying it wants full access to Shelby Park, a boat launch, and the international bridge.

Donald Trump has demanded Fani Willis be disqualified from his Georgia election fraud case after she 'injected race' into the case, and called for the charges against him be dropped.
The former president's co-defendant Michael Roman alleged in court filings that Willis had an inappropriate relationship with Nathan Wade, the lawyer she hired to help run the criminal case.
The bombshell court document has led to a flurry of allegations, including Wade buying flights and cruises for Willis as they carried on their fling.
