Sensational rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud appeared for an interview over the weekend immediately after leading his Houston Texans to a playoff win. The exhausted, battered, victorious 22-year-old opened with these words:
“First and foremost, I just want to give all glory to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”
The game was carried by NBC. They posted Stroud’s postgame interview but, predictably, edited out his opening statement – the very statement that the player himself said was “first and foremost” to him and his terrific game.
Stroud is Black. It used to be that liberals tolerated Black displays of religion because they thought such displays were cute

Whether he admits it or not, Matt Gaetz helped usher in a new House speaker who’s just as feckless as his predecessor.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy last year, many conservatives were cautiously optimistic that his successor, Louisiana’s Rep. Mike Johnson, would lead the lower chamber more capably. Surely the man with the self-professed biblical “worldview” and somewhat conservative voting record would be the fighter GOP voters need to take on Democrats’ extremism, right?

TALLAHASSEE, Florida — Florida Republicans may set aside millions in taxpayer money to help pay for former President Donald Trump’s multiple legal battles.
A Miami Republican who endorsed Trump’s reelection has filed a bill for this year’s legislative session that could allow the state to hand out up to $5 million to the embattled Republican frontrunner for president. The legislation has already won the endorsement from Jimmy Patronis, the state’s Republican chief financial officer, who for months has been publicly calling for taxpayers to pay to defend Trump from criminal charges. “We’re in the midst of an historic moment where we’re watching an election

Self-professed Catholic President Joe Biden marked the fifty-first anniversary of the Supreme Court’s now-defunct 1973 Roe v. Wade decision by pledging to fight for the supposed “right” to kill unborn babies via abortion.
In a statement released on Monday, Biden took the opportunity to mourn the Supreme Court’s 2022 Dobbs decision, which overturned Roe’s invention of the constitutional “right” to abortion and sent the issue back to individual states. He also painted Republicans as “dangerous” and “extreme” for passing laws banning or restricting abortions and accused them of putting “lives…at risk”:

CNN’s Jake Tapper asked Phillips what the biggest difference between him and Biden is, with Phillips saying he would introduce “American Dream Accounts.” The proposal would deposit $1,000 upon birth into a child’s bank account so that the money grows through the years and can help them obtain higher education. In a victory for the Biden Administration, the Supreme Court of the United States has cleared the way for the Biden administration to remove miles of razor wire barrier placed at the Texas border with Mexico by order of Texas. Gov. Greg Abbott.
The ruling would allow Border Patrol agents to cut federal agents to cut through portions of the wire if they deem it necessary.
The justices voted 5-4 to grant an emergency appeal from the Biden administration during an escalating standoff with Texas Governor Greg Abbott over whether the state or federal government has authority to secure the border in the hot spot of Eagle Pass, Texas.

Monday marks 51 years since the U.S. Supreme Court handed down the Roe v. Wade, though it was ultimately overturned in 2022 with the Dobbs v. Jackson decision. As Katie highlighted earlier, President Joe Biden put out a statement full of fearmongering that also called on Congress to take action by passing the Women's Health Protection Act (WHPA), although that would certainly do more than "restore" Roe, as the president claims. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre also commemorated the day by sharing the statement over X, and by focusing on the part that got it oh so wrong.

The US and UK carried out additional strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen on Monday, marking the eighth round of attacks by the US military on the rebels’ infrastructure in just over 10 days, according to a joint statement.

It was a smaller number than the first joint operation on January 11 that struck over 30 Houthi targets. Monday’s strikes targeted a Houthi underground storage site and sites associates with Houthi missile and air surveillance, the statement added.

The Georgia Senate is set this week to authorize a subpoena-powered investigative committee to probe the alleged corruption of Fani Willis, Fulton County’s district attorney, Breitbart News exclusively learned Monday.
The potential committee is significant because Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) refused to launch a criminal investigation into Willis last week, citing the need for a currently non-operational oversight committee to open the probe.
The proposed Georgia Senate committee could hold subpoena power as soon as later this week to “secure the attendance of witnesses or the production of documents and materials” related to Willis, according to a resolution put forth by Georgia state Sen. Greg Dolezal (R-Forsyth).

In California, especially Southern California, but also in the north, In-N-Out Burgers is an institution.
Older than McDonald's, it's popular because of its non-processed food with no chemicals to give you a headache, and for its simple menu with the best prices on the fast food scene of California. People love the place, it's iconic,

New York— Former President Donald Trump has told the public for years what he thinks of E. Jean Carroll, the writer who claims he sexually assaulted her in the 1990s. Now he has a chance to talk to a jury about her — but within limits he might well test.
Trump could testify as soon as Monday in the defamation trial over his 2019 comments branding Carroll a liar who faked a sexual attack to sell a memoir. He plans to be in court as the New York trial resumes after a weekend break.
Because a different jury found last year that Trump sexually abused Carroll, U.S. District Judge Judge

With Ron DeSantis' shock announcement he is dropping out of the White House race, the question now is who his supporters will back.
Will they flock to Donald Trump and give the frontrunner even greater momentum, or will they decide to throw their weight behind Nikki Haley?
The New Hampshire primary is less than 48 hours away and Haley is hoping for a longshot victory to close the gap with Trump in what is now a two-horse race. She is behind Trump in the polls by double digits and facing an uphill battle to win the state she has focused on after finishing third in Iowa.

The prospect of a deal to release the remaining hostages held by Hamas appeared to recede on Sunday after a Hamas official said Benjamin Netanyahu’s rejection of their conditions meant there was “no chance” of their return.
Netanyahu had earlier dismissed the militant group’s conditions to end the war, which he said included leaving Hamas in power and Israel’s complete withdrawal from the territory.
A Hamas official, Sami Abu Zuhri, told Reuters the Israeli prime minister’s refusal to end the military offensive in Gaza “means there is no chance for the return of the [Israeli] captives."

The commentariat has made much of the “diploma divide” and the purported propensity of college graduates to vote for Democrats. Most of their disquisitions suggest that Republicans are by definition intellectually stunted. Ironically, serious analyses of voter behavior suggest the divide is shrinking. A Pew Research analysis of the last two midterms shows the Democrat-Republican share of college educated voters had narrowed to 52-47, a far smaller gap than in 2018. More evidence that a shift is underway involves former President Trump’s recent Iowa caucus victory, in which he dramatically outperformed his 2016 showing among college educated voters.

President Joe Biden has at least two X accounts -- or at least his handlers do. @POTUS and @JoeBiden are both known for posting cringe-worthy messages that are often devoid of reality. But of all the people who should not be making fun of someone else's mental agility, it's Joe Biden. He is a walking gaffe machine -- sometimes a falling gaffe machine -- and is prone to speaking gibberish, talking to people who are in another state, and having death match smackdowns with his teleprompter. But somebody on Team Biden decided it would be a good idea to bring attention to the subject of mental fitness:

As part of an overall effort to turn Texas from a Republican stronghold into a blue state, billionaire progressive financier George Soros is pouring oodles of cash into the state’s races to bolster support for far-leftist candidates. The idea is to transform Texas into a Democratic playground, and the strategy could work if the state Republican Party doesn’t find an answer to this political offensive.
George Soros is pouring money into local Democratic parties in Texas in a ploy to help Democrats turn the state blue, according to the Texas Tribune.
Soros, working with the Texas Majority PAC, donated six-figure sums to the Democratic parties of Hidalgo, Cameron and Dallas counties, all
