Ron DeSantis has dropped out of the 2024 Republican primary.( snip)The next few days will be fraught with demands to unite the clans. However, please remember the proven and demonstrably accurate axiom: Never Trust a Never Trumper.
The Ron DeSantis campaign was built upon a foundation of fraud. Long planned as an effort to destroy the threat that MAGA represents to the Republican apparatus,

Was he really ever in? The only excitement for him was because he was governor of FL. Yet he promised when he was elected that he would stay in office.

O.P. anyone is welcome for support. Every bit helps. Second point. DeSantos can't run as V.P. No matter who won for president Harris then would be VP.

He allowed himself to be bought and paid for by the Sea Island Establishment GOPe. The antithesis of MAGA and America First. He was thus a willing vessel for their political aims, policy preferences. They bought and paid for what they expected him to do for them as preesident. Those who blamed hardcore Conservative Sundance for his opposition to DeSantis completely missed this.

Yes, by all means, ostracize DeSantis and his supporters. Brilliant strategy.
Can’t miss.

The most vocal DeSantis supporters at LCom were well-known anti-Trumpers in 2016

I think Sundance misses here.
DeSantis proved great leadership as governor, and was rewarded with a landslide re-election. But he wasn't a good campaigner.
Around the time DeSantis declared for the presidency, there was a whole lot of uncertainty about Trump: was he also too old? Would indictments and convictions ruin him? DeSantis was at the zenith of his popularity, and was seen by many as the logical (and only!) successor to 45. He may still be, in four years; I don't know and neither does sundance.
I don't worry overmuch about camp followers. They can be a problem, but mostly I remember Reagan's reply when challenged about David Duke's endorsement: "He endorsed me; I didn't endorse him."

#2 iis not clear. DeSantis is iineligible for VP with PDJ T as both are from the same state. PDJT probably prefers someone else anyway.
Harris will never be president unless Zhou resigns, kicks the bucket or is impeached. Her election chances are slim to none. A dismal failure.

You’re idiotic choosing between Trump and DeSantis: we need them both . Sundance is like a market perma-bear: it’s going down and he ‘s right every 8 years . Trump/DeSantis for 12 years.

I spend some time on Conservative Treehouse, mainly for the comments. Sundance has a kingdom of sycophants that hang on his every word - sometimes he truly is ahead of the curve but occasionally he's misguided by self-importance. Still worth reading.

With respect Sundance is dead wrong!
To his credit, DeSantis, when he realized he had no path to victory, threw his resources
into defeating the corrupt globalists.
And Trump - to his credit - immediately accepted him as an ally.
There is a long list of "losers" who helped the winner as much as they could.
There is also a long list of "losers" who worked to destroy the presidency
of the winners.
Which list is worthy of respect and which of contempt?

I’m really pleased DeSantis has done this. Although I think he never should’ve run, because the principal issue in this election is the abuse of governmental power by the Dims against Trump. DeSantis should’ve refused to play business as usual. That said, I guess I can hardly blame him, as long as he does the right thing now.
I don’t know if he was a bad campaigner, or, as said above, the only issue in this campaign is what the Dims are doing, their extra legal lawfare. In a way, nothing else matters. In a way, nothing else matters than the steal of the 2020 election, since if elections can be stolen, our country is gone. If the Dims can arrest their enemies it’s gone. Desantis’s running seemed an exploitation of that.
Of course, all that has to be put into some sort of a triangulated outlook with a plan for the future. But we have no country if the steal of 2020 is swept under the rug or if all this lawfare against Trump is treated as justified and business as usual.

#5, I'm not so sure about that. There are, after all, many lurkers among us. I am a great admirer of Mr. DeSantis and I was 'never' a never-Trumper! You can take that to the bank!!

I don't see DeSantis as a GOPe tool like the obvious Haley, but the smart money would have been to run him in 2028, and since when has the GOPe idiot donor class ever been smart money?

I try to be fairly well-informed, but I have little knowledge of the 'who is backing who via someone else' that Sundance (who is he, really?) claims to know.
In 2016, I initially liked Ted Cruz, but when Mr. Trump became the nominee I supported him, and I think he did a wonderful job, especially considering the myriad of people working against him.... in the GOP establishment as well as the Democ'RATS.
As far as I am concerned, there are three people who were in the mix that would do a good job as President... Trump, Desantis, and Ramaswami. I don't much care for Nikki Haley, but even she would make a better President than the HairSniffer, who is clearly the puppet of evil people working to destroy our beloved America.

Why are there so many articles to trash DeSantis, even this one where he drops out and endorses Trump. He is not an establishment RINO (that's why the establishment backed Haley instead of him). He should not have run against Trump, but he could have a future in the GOP and maybe stop eating that future hope.

I don’t believe Casey will allow her husband to throw all his support to Trump. RD had to say what he did, bow out and get back to Florida to rebuild his reputation. He has taken a big hit for his foolish decision to listen to the self-serving oracles who promised everything but knew he was going to get nothing. He was a pawn used by men who never have done anything of consequence but mummer around the edges of the party with their money and influence. They build nothing but their own reputations and could not stomach the fact that one man would not bow down to their infinite greatness.
DeSantis was either misled or as evil as those determined to eliminate President Trump. Unfortunately, he chose the wrong path and is going to have a very hard time rehabilitating himself in front of the base. Only advice is be true to your beliefs. Change your path and head over with the base and reject those who use and abuse candidates for their own pleasure or stick with that treacherous crowd and become just like them, craven and worthless to the Republic.

DeSantis is the Ted Cruz of this election. I'd vote for either one of them against ANY dim-0, and a lot of Republicans.

Oh Brother! First of all, Casey DeSantis is a Wonderful Woman. She is raising a well behaved family and at the same time is the First Lady of MY State. Those of us who live in Florida love her. We also love our Governor and are proud of him. At the time he decided to run for President he didn't know a lot of the Lawfare stuff was going to hit trump. They were neck and neck in the Polls until that happened. When Trump was hit with all the Stuff that he would have to defend, naturally Republican Voters were mad as hell and defended him to the hilt. That's when DeSantis lost his bid. Nobody could possibly beat trump after that. I am proud that he is such a Class Act. He bowed out and sent his followers to Trump. He has always been a Class Act and a Great Governor. Maybe he will run again, maybe not. I don't know and neither does Sundance. By the way! DeSantis has never had the Bush Family telling him what to do! He is definitely his Own Man! Also, to set the Record straight, I am one of those Long Time Posters(from day one when Lucianne went online) being called a "Never-Trumper". I voted for Trump and will do so again, so I don't think Those who are throwing around those accusations should put us all in the same Box!

#19 Well behaved family? I guess you didn't see the article about the DeSantis children and their beatiful crayon artwork on the walls of the governor's mansion? It may seem not a big deal but it tells me there is no respect for other people's property. And I imagine the governor's mansion is a bit decorated than the walls of a house you or I would live in.
