After two hours of going at each other with hammer and tong, there was a clear winner at the debate between Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley at Drake University last night sponsored by CNN. But he wasn’t in the building. Instead, Donald Trump was across town, speaking at a town hall hosted by a different cable network, floating the tantalizing claim that he has already chosen his running mate. If it seems brazen to make an announcement before the first primary season votes have been cast, there’s a reason: With less than a week before the Iowa caucuses, Trump maintains

Glad I “missed” it. It sounds pathetic. A debate between two people spouting their handlers’ talking points. I could care less about Haley, but I am sad about DeSantis. He had so much potential until the Karl Rove crowd got their hooks into him.

If I had been watching this, and I didn’t, I wouldn’t have lasted 10 minutes. I’m not interested in their petty bickering. I’m interested in what’s going to be done to fix the entire cluster you know what that Biden made of this country. He barely gets mentioned by anyone besides Trump. They’re too busy trying to kill off each other. Most people hate this and it does not win them any respect. Waste of time.

Maybe it would have been "more entertaining" if the ex president wasn't afraid to get on stage and actually defend his record with a competent opponent? If Trump wins the nomination, it will be rather humorous as he screams that "Corrupt, Sleepy Joe is too afraid to debate him!". Because, I can guarantee the instant that he would get the nomination, every poll you see with him ahead of Biden will flip within a day. And everyone of your favorite MAGA influencers will twist themselves in to a pretzel as to why Joe is now a coward. We will know if any poll is to be believed this time next week. But surely, the same news orgs that LIED to you about every aspect of Trump's presidency wouldn't lie to you now about a poll?

#7 Yeah its a Salon. I do respond however. I can type, them, more. Slowly. If. You . Need. Me. To. MAGA loves Trump. Any other demographic, proven by multiple elections, LOATHES the man. They turn out in record numbers anytime his name is attached to a candidate. This isn't polls. This is election RESULTS. I now, they are all stolen. yawn, find new material. I voted for him twice (2x). I was able to overlook many shortcomings as he was the (I thought) better choice. Defended so much of the craziness. The lies, the blaming EVERYONE else, the lazy campaign, because he's 'entitled' to it, the failure to acknowledge ANY missteps. Actual peoples lives were destroyed by those 'mistakes'. His lurch to the left on every issue. Those indictments (yeah most are BS, some aren't so shaky) may rile up his base, however, the majority of Reps and Ind's have already stated they are a huge NO for a candidate. I have walked away. The mood for a sizable online presence (always a shaky metric) is in a similar place. A 5-10% loss of Rep votes is a death sentence to any candidate. I do speak to actual other people that have as well. If he is the nominee, enjoy him. I suspect it will be a Mondale like loss for the republicans. P.S. A coward is someone who won't confront an opponent to their face. Sure swims like a duck.

Blah, blah, blah, #8. No one is falling for the “I voted for him twice” BS. Your hatred is palpable and in keeping with the most an ardent anti-Trumper. You’re not fooling anyone. Toddle on back to the Puffington Host or National Review. You can still whistle past the Trump graveyard with your fantasies of how much everyone outside of MAGA hates the man. Perhaps some further research into recent demographic polling might help. hope. You. Can. Understand. This.

Biden ‘Saves’ Democracy by Destroying It 0 replies

When faced with the possible return of former President Donald Trump, the current agenda of the Democratic Party is summed up simply as "We had to destroy democracy to save it." The effort shares a common theme: Any means necessary are justified to prevent the people from choosing their own president, given the fear that a majority might vote to elect Trump. Sometimes the anti-democratic paranoia has been outsourced to state and local officials and prosecutors to erase Trump from the primary and likely general election ballots as well.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., offered highlights from Hunter Biden's surprise appearance at his contempt of Congress hearing. He told Fox News a pivotal point in the hearing was when Biden, who entered with attorneys Abbe Lowell and Kevin Morris, suddenly rose and left the room as the microphone was given to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga. Comer told "The Ingraham Angle" that despite some Democrats' reported claims the appearance was a publicity win for Biden, the play-by-play showed otherwise.

Low on law, high on theater. That’s the best way of looking at Hunter Biden’s Capitol Hill stunt Wednesday morning. The president’s son crashed a public meeting at which the House Oversight Committee was slated to vote on a resolution, based on which the full House would eventually hold him in contempt of Congress — ironically, for defying a subpoena demanding that he show up at the Capitol so the committee could depose him. I say "low on law" because, in the absence of enforcement, law is just a talking point.

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Wednesday suspended his campaign for president. "It’s clear to me tonight that there isn’t a path for me to win the nomination. Which is why I’m suspending my campaign tonight for President of the United States," Christie said at a town hall event in Windham, New Hampshire. Christie, a long shot for the nomination in a race dominated by former President Donald Trump, in recent weeks had faced increased calls from fellow Republicans and from some voters to end his bid to give rival Nikki Haley a boost as she aims to close the gap with Trump.

Over a century ago the Progressive leadership of the Democrats seceded philosophically from the Founding Principles of the American experiment.[i] Rejecting the principles of natural law and unalienable individual rights, they adopted the statist relativism of Jeremy Bentham’s Utilitarianism and that of his philosophical heirs. They embraced the State as the arbiter of a changeable ‘common good’ and government by the State as preeminent over individuals, regulating personal liberty bestowed by government so long as it supports the state-defined ‘common good.’ Founded upon Woodrow Wilson’s paradigm of a “living constitution” with law making by judicial fiat or Executive Order and day-to-day governance by an unelected, unaccountable, administrative state

In an NBC interview Sunday, Rep. Elise Stefanik deftly demonstrated how to handle Democrats’ false claims about a Jan. 6, 2021 “insurrection” to justify criminalizing the speech of the half of the country that opposes their policies. At the beginning of “Meet the Press” host Kristen Welker’s interview with Stefanik, Welker played a deceptively edited clip from Jan. 6, 2021. On the House floor, Stefanik characterized the events from earlier that day as “tragic” and stated that violent individuals should be “prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” Had NBC honestly portrayed the clip, it would have included the main point of Stefanik’s speech.

This week, the Republican-controlled House will begin contempt proceedings against Hunter Biden with a vote expected as early as this week. That alone will be an historic moment for Congress to declare that the son of a sitting president may have committed a federal felony. However, the costs may not be borne by Hunter alone. If the Democratic members, as expected, unanimously oppose the contempt sanction, the party could fundamentally undermine its position in future investigations. The Democratic leadership has made a series of similar decisions in the last decade that have cost the party dearly by opting for immediate political benefits over long-term interests.

Amid allegations from conservative lawmakers and activists that Washington, D.C.’s most powerful agencies have been weaponized against their critics, one organization has not only played a key role in helping marshal evidence of such malfeasance, but found itself at the center of an emerging government targeting scandal that would seem to only further substantiate the claims of administrative state critics. That organization is Empower Oversight Whistleblowers & Research. It has represented whistleblowers at the heart of some of the most consequential and contentious congressional investigations in recent years, touching on matters ranging from the impeachment inquiry into President Biden, to alleged FBI inflation of the domestic terror threat.

With US forces under regular attack across the Mideast and the Navy actively engaged with Houthi forces in the Red Sea, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin was out of commission in the hospital from Monday on. Worse, no one told the White House; worse yet, neither President Biden nor National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan noticed. Not until the Pentagon let Sullivan know on Thursday. Anyone thinking that the nation is well-led despite Biden’s blatant feebleness better think again: Austin and his deputies ignored the law here, while Sullivan was plainly asleep at the switch. “Crime Keeps On Falling, but Prisons Keep On Filling” has made people laugh since the infamous New York Times headline appeared in 1997. To this it may soon add “Biden Has Thrown Open the Borders, Yet Hispanic Voters Are Dumping Him.” Getting a cause-and-effect relationship exactly backward is known as a “Fox Butterfield headline,” after the Times reporter who wrote the article. Crime falls because criminals are behind bars. Duh. Only Times writers would be puzzled by that. Now some commentators are perplexed that Hispanic support for President Biden is falling like piñata candy at a 5-year-old’s party.

It authorizes them to give them work permits [to illegal migrants and] authorizes them to grant parole [legal status] to everybody that they’re able to funnel to a port of entry.

The Department of Justice wants the Supreme Court to stop Texas from blocking federal Border Patrol agents from a portion of the U.S.-Mexico border near Eagle Pass, southwest of San Antonio.
