Joe Biden seems to have great confusion about the Houthis.
Earlier on Friday, as he was wandering around some Allentown, Pennsylvania, stores looking frighteningly confused, he was asked about Iran and the Houthis. He was asked whether we were in a proxy war with Iran. He said no, but it's beginning to look like it. We certainly have been in a bit of a cold war with them for a while. But he claimed that Iran didn't want war with us. Then he said he believed the Houthis were terrorists. That seemingly went against his policy of delisting them when he came into

Americans are divided on how the U.S. Supreme Court should handle former President Donald Trump’s ballot access, but a majority in a new ABC News/Ipsos poll say they would support the court either barring Trump from presidential ballots nationally or letting states take that step individually.
The national poll finds a close division on state-level rulings barring Trump from the ballot in Colorado and Maine, 49-46%, support-oppose. On next steps, 56% are willing to see him disqualified in all or some states, including 30% who say the high court should bar him in all states and 26% who say it should let each state decide.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. military early Saturday struck another Houthi-controlled site in Yemen that it had determined was putting commercial vessels in the Red Sea at risk, two U.S. officials said, a day after the U.S. and Britain launched multiple airstrikes targeting Houthi rebels.
Associated Press journalists in Sanaa, Yemen’s capital, heard one loud explosion.
The first day of strikes Friday hit 28 locations and struck more than 60 targets. However, the U.S. determined the additional location, a radar site, still presented a threat to maritime traffic, one official said. The officials spoke anonymously to the AP to discuss an operation that hadn’t yet been publicly announced.

The CIA has been providing Israel information on senior Hamas leaders and the location of the remaining hostages the terrorist organization has kidnapped in Gaza, according to a Friday report by The New York Times citing US officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The US hasn't provided Israel with intel on "low or midlevel Hamas operatives," the report said. Additionally, the report cites some of the US officials' belief that targeting low-level Hamas members is "misguided" because "they can be easily replaced and because of the unwarranted risk to civilians." They have also said

While many American cities continue to struggle with proliferation of homeless camps in their parks and on their sidewalks, the U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case that could determine if enforcing bans on those camps is a violation of the Constitution.
The Supreme Court on Friday agreed to review an appellate court ruling in Johnson v. Grants pass, one of two Ninth Circuit rulings that limited the ability of municipalities to enforce camping bans against involuntarily homeless people with nowhere else to go and when there is not enough shelter space for all of them. Critics say the rulings have supercharged the proliferation of homeless camps

Apparently the good folks who will be gathering at the World Economic Forum onanistic gathering in Davos are worried that Donald Trump might become president again.
Boo hoo. The world’s Bond villains do not favor Donald Trump. What a shocker. LONDON, Jan 12 (Reuters Breakingviews) – The most talked-about person in Davos next week will be nowhere near the Swiss mountain resort. As politicians, financiers and chief executives converge for this year’s World Economic Forum, Donald Trump will be 7,500 kilometres away in Iowa, starting his quest to win the U.S. Republican Party’s presidential nomination for the third time. Even so, his possible return

Hunter Biden has finally agreed to sit for a closed-door deposition before Congress, as the full House prepares to vote on two resolutions to hold him in contempt for ignoring subpoenas related to his father’s impeachment inquiry.
Hunter’s attorney Abbe Lowell said the president’s son will comply with the House GOP’s investigation in a letter sent to House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer (R., Ky.) and House Judiciary Committee chairman Jim Jordan (R., Ohio) on Friday. The letter to Congress comes two days after both committees passed separate resolutions in response to Hunter Biden’s defiance of orders requiring him to sit for a closed-door deposition in December.

Disney-owned Pixar, the animation studio behind blockbuster franchises “Toy Story,” The Incredibles” and “Finding Nemo,” is set to slash jobs, according to reports.
The studio has “completed production on some shows and now has more staff than it needs,” Reuters reported on Friday, citing an anonymous source. TechCrunch had reported earlier this week that Pixar will chop headcount by as much as 20% this year, reducing staffing to roughly 1,000 from the current 1,300 that work for the studio.
However, the anonymous source disputed that number, saying the studio had yet to determine how many will jobs will be cut, but added that the layoffs were “imminent.”

The Texas National Guard has seized control of a park at the U.S. southern border and is now blocking Border Patrol from entering the area – part of an effort to stop the surge of illegal immigration into Texas and a move likely to significantly increase tensions between Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and the federal government.
The state government has taken control of Shelby Park in the city of Eagle Pass, Texas, which has been at the center of the migrant crisis that has engulfed the U.S. border. Authorities have now set up razor wire and fences to block off the area.

Ismail Haniyeh, a senior leader of Hamas, recently gave a speech in which he called for “financial Jihad” to support the terrorist group’s war effort against Israel as the war in Gaza continues. Haniyeh’s comments come amid a bloody war that the terrorist group started when it launched a surprise attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
The speech, which was delivered at the International Union of Muslim Scholars conference in Doha, Qatar, illustrated the need for more support coming from donors across the globe.
The [Islamic] nation has an important role. The scholars of our nation have a pivotal role, on two fronts: The first front is supporting the resistance.

The USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative’s latest list of television’s most inclusive shows reveals that a majority of those shows are no longer on the air or have not been renewed.
Gee, I can’t imagine why.
“The list compiles data regarding on-screen and behind-the-camera personnel to rank the 100 most inclusive broadcast and cable series from the 2021-22 broadcast season and streaming series from 2021 to 2023,” reports the Messenger. “The list also includes the top 20 producers of the most inclusive shows on TV.”
“The research team looked at over 560 series airing on broadcast, cable, and streaming platforms across 15 inclusion indicators.” And guess what those “15 inclusion indicators” are.

Yesterday I wrote that San Francisco is a cult. It was a VIP article, so you may not have seen it. I wrote that piece after viewing the disgusting behavior–and cultish behavior–of the pro-Hamas crowd after San Francisco made its ridiculous call for a cease-fire. That a city government felt the need to do this was ridiculous, but then again the whole city is ridiculous.
The video was bizarre. Today I saw more evidence of just how awful the behavior of the activists was during the hearing before the vote to condemn Israel.
