Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) experienced what can only be described as a positive moment in his presidential aspirations on Sunday, given Liz Cheney’s popularity among Republicans.
Appearing on Face the Nation, Cheney was asked about DeSantis suggesting that as president he would look at the January 6 defendants on a case-by-case basis and consider pardons in response to concerns about the “weaponization” of government and the rejected ex-congresswoman responded by declaring the governor “unfit for office.” [Video]
“We have other Republican candidates for president like Ron DeSantis who have said they are open to reviewing the cases against these defendants and considering pardons for them,"

A four-time deported illegal alien is accused of killing a mother and one of her three sons in a fatal drunk-driving crash, a new report details.
Jose Guadalupe Menjivar-Alas, a 37-year-old illegal alien from El Salvador, was arrested and charged in December with killing 46-year-old Melissa Powell, a mother of three sons, as well as her 16-year-old son, Riordan Powell, in Broomfield, Colorado, on December 12.
Jennie Taer at the Daily Caller broke the news that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency confirmed Menjivar-Alas’s illegal alien status and his repeated illegal re-entry into the United States despite being deported four times.
Menjivar-Alas has had four prior convictions in Boulder County, Colorado,

My first Townhall Column of the year was my top 2024 predictions, but one prediction did not fit with its snarky vibe. Let me make it now. In 2024, we’re going to see a massive terrorist attack here in the United States. I’m not going to sugarcoat it – I’m worried that we’re facing a terrorist threat unlike anything we’ve ever seen and that a lot of Americans are going to die. It does not have to happen, but because the people running this country are so corrupt, malicious, and incompetent, it will.
The people running this country have made choices – like throwing open the border –

Republicans have had lots of opinions as to whether it was a good idea for Donald Trump to skip debating with his primary opponents thus far. Some have asked why would he need to when he is 30 points up on his next closest opponent. Some have said that it was unfair that voters were unable to see all their choices for the GOP nomination all together on one stage debating the issues. But as Trump stands a very good chance of being the Republican Presidential nominee, Democrats seem to be a bit nervous about any general election debates between Trump and Joe Biden.

The video of Judge Mary Kay Holthus being attacked last Wednesday by a three-time felon whom she was just about to sentence for an April 2023 baseball bat assault is not something you can unsee.
As RedState previously reported, Holthus was right on the verge of handing down the sentence for Deobra Delone Redden, who is 30, when Redden jumped over the defense's table and the judge's bench and attacked her, knocking her to the floor as others in the courtroom tried to pull him off of her and subdue him, which they finally did but with some difficulty.
For those who missed the shocking moment, watch: [video]

Illustrating what a rolling disaster the Biden administration is, the executive-branch-controlled National Park Service decided it'd be a great idea to remove the William Penn statue that stands on the grounds of the founder of Pennsylvania's historic home.
Why? Because "equity and inclusion," of course. You see, "Welcome Park," the site of Penn's historic home didn't give enough representation to Native Americans, and the federal government decided the best course of action would be to remove his statue completely and turn the place into a woke shrine.
No doubt, the fact that Penn owned slaves was also a major factor in trying to erase his existence

Michael Roman, one of the 18 co-defendants in the Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) case - which is centered on and includes former President Donald J. Trump - filed an explosive motion today
In it, he claimed the indictment she secured against him on August 14 was unconstitutional because the lawyer she subcontracted to investigate RICO charges, Nathan Wade, is her lover.
Roman requests the court dismiss his indictment and disqualify Willis from the case. The Atlanta Constitution Journal summarized it this way:
The bombshell public filing alleged that special prosecutor Nathan Wade,

My colleague Ward Clark reported on how the anti-Israel crew was causing trouble in New York again, this time by blocking some vital entry ways into New York City: the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, as well as the Holland Tunnel and the Williamsburg Bridge. If you're familiar with New York you know that there are thousands of people going through those arteries on any normal workday. If they wanted to do something and make people turn away from their "cause," they almost couldn't pick anything that will tick off people more than something like that.
Here you can see they're employing a tactic of the climate activists:

Perhaps the most misleading government statistic of all is the Consumer Price Index. The CPI is an incredibly important statistic because so many government programs that benefit American citizens are tied to that number.
It's usually cited as the inflation rate, but it's not really. The CPI is the rate of increase in a subjective "market basket" of goods and services. The things that concern you and me the most as far as price increases have very little to do with the CPI. The CPI doesn't track food or gas prices at the pump, so the CPI that we see every month doesn't tell us anything useful.

I am finding it increasingly difficult to be friends with these zombie-like power tools who obeisantly sashay into the voting booth and pull the Donkey lever because "RACISM" or some other myth that Snopes refuses to tackle. I believe "Democrat" should be a score on the IQ chart just a tad above "AOC" and a mile below "window licker."
FACT-O-RAMA! Gropey Joe Biden keeps banging his "white supremacy" drum, even though FBI stats prove year after year that black people murder more than twice as many white people, even though white folks outnumber black folks at a rate of more than five to one.

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, there is no dispute about the benefits of breastfeeding an infant. "Most health professionals are familiar with the benefits of breastfeeding,” the organization says on its website. "The AAP continues to support the unequivocal evidence that breastfeeding protects against a variety of diseases and conditions."
In addition to a long list of health benefits for the infant, there are significant health advantages for new mothers as well.
However, according to leftist academics, breastfeeding is “ethically problematic.” Want to guess why?
Campus Reform has the details:
“We are concerned about breastfeeding promotion that praises breastfeeding as the ‘natural’ way to feed infants,”

On the eve of July the Fourth in 1980, America was reeling. There were 52 US hostages kidnapped by Iran and trapped in Tehran. Unemployment was at 7.2%. Inflation stood at 12.5%. Thanks to a decade of the aforementioned out-of-control inflation, the Dow Jones Industrial Average stood at an anemic 876.02, only about a hundred points higher than it was in 1970. The Soviet Union had invaded Afghanistan. A feckless Jimmy Carter saw his second term hopes being challenged on the left by Ted Kennedy and on the right by Ronald Reagan.
As always when the nightly news is grim, Americans need something to laugh about at the movies.
