MADISON, Wis. — Former University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Chancellor Joe Gow said Thursday that the school’s governing board fired him because members were uncomfortable with him and his wife producing and appearing in pornographic videos.
The Universities of Wisconsin Board of Regents, which oversees UW-Madison, UW-La Crosse and 11 other regional campuses, voted unanimously during a hastily convened closed meeting Wednesday evening to fire Gow.
After the vote, Universities of Wisconsin President Jay Rothman and regents President Karen Walsh issued statements saying the regents had learned of specific conduct by Gow that subjected the university to “significant reputational harm.”

By now, most of us have seen the reluctant reporting from media outlets checking in with vehicle dealerships around the United States. Car lots are filled with electric vehicles, many with their original sales prices reduced. Most people simply aren’t interested in purchasing an EV despite any mandates being issued by state governments or the White House. There are various reasons for this, including the high cost of these vehicles (despite generous, taxpayer-funded rebates) and the uncertainty of there being sufficient charging stations to keep them running. Now Ford has seemingly woken up to the reality of the situation. In 2024, they will be drastically cutting their production

When you have seasoned criminals running the legislative process, it should come as no surprise that you get a government saturated with theft, money laundering, and corruption.
Yesterday, The Wall Street Journal published a new report, revealing this:
Electric-vehicle sales growth hit a speed bump in the U.S. this year, and the impact is being felt throughout the industry.
The authors of the article suggest that the “relatively high prices” of E.V.s might have something to do with the people’s “hesitancy” to make the switch—because apparently the average $54k for an E.V. (which is $5k more than the average gas vehicle) is only a “relatively high” cost for a car. They also noted

Until quite recently, the studio looked unstoppable on its way to dominating Hollywood. But in 2023, its box office plummeted, and its magic faded. What has gone wrong?
The year 2023 should have been a magical one for The Walt Disney Company.
The studio was founded by Walt and Roy Disney in 1923, so a host of films, books and events had been planned to celebrate its centenary. Recent cartoons such as Frozen and Moana had proven that its animation department was thriving, and various mergers had given the Company control of the Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel franchises, too. "It was an incredible collection of brands

If this doesn’t creep you out, you need to seek help from a psychologist. They have drugs for that.
Three in ten Gen Zer’s think that Osama bin Laden was a force for good, and a similar proportion of Black Americans think the same. All told, one in five Americans don’t believe that bin Laden was a bad guy at all. He had some pretty good ideas, you know.
Geez. Stop the world. I want to get off before I go insane. This is what happens when “decolonization” and labeling White people “supremacists” becomes the norm.
A significant number of people come to believe that Osama bin Laden was a pretty good guy.

This is absurd, unconstitutional, and Putinesque. Jack Smith should be immediately removed for even proposing this.
In a move worthy of any aspiring tyrant, Special Counsel Jack Smith is asking the court to prevent Donald Trump from making arguments that he believes are relevant to his defense.
Smith, as the prosecutor, may disagree with Trump’s arguments, but last I checked, in our justice system, it is up to a jury to determine the facts of a case. Smith’s sweeping motion would essentially silence Trump–preventing him from criticizing the Special Counsel, law enforcement, the electoral process, or just about anything else.
I am pretty sure that if Smith gets his

WASHINGTON — The Colorado Republican Party on Wednesday asked the Supreme Court to overturn a state court ruling saying former President Donald Trump is ineligible to run for president in the state because of his role in events leading up to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Trump's own legal team has already said it intends to file its own appeal. In the meantime, under the terms of the Colorado Supreme Court's ruling, Trump will remain on the ballot for the state's Republican primary. In a first ruling of its kind, the state Supreme Court ruled that Trump was disqualified

Mayor Eric Adams is cracking down on rogue migrant buses flowing into New York City — threatening criminal charges for charter bus companies that flout the new rules. Adams issued an executive order Wednesday requiring charter bus companies alert the city’s Emergency Management Office 32 hours before arriving in the Big Apple.
The order also limits drop-off hours to between 8:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. daily and to a single location, on West 41st Street between Eight and Ninth Avenue in Manhattan.
“We cannot allow buses with people needing our help to arrive without warning any hour of day and night,” Adams said in a virtual press conference with Chicago Mayor

The New York Times on Wednesday filed a lawsuit against Microsoft and OpenAI, creator of the popular AI chatbot ChatGPT, accusing the companies of copyright infringement and abusing the newspaper's intellectual property to train large language models.
Microsoft both invests in and supplies OpenAI, providing it with access to the company's Azure cloud computing technology. The publisher said in a filing in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York that it seeks to hold Microsoft and OpenAI to account for the "billions of dollars in statutory and actual damages" it believes it is owed for the "unlawful copying and use of The Times's uniquely valuable works."

Tom Smothers, one half of the legendary comedy duo the Smothers Brothers, has died at 86.
The late comedian died peacefully at his home on Tuesday with his family at his side following a recent battle with cancer, according to his brother and co-star Dick Smothers.
“Tom was not only the loving older brother that everyone would want in their life, he was a one-of-a-kind creative partner,” Dick said in a statement shared with The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday. “I am forever grateful to have spent a lifetime together with him, on and off stage, for over 60 years. Our relationship was like a good marriage – the longer we were together,

The Michigan Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected an attempt to remove former President Trump from the state’s primary ballot under the 14th Amendment’s insurrection ban.
A liberal-leaning group had appealed a state appeals court ruling that concluded, regardless of whether the 14th Amendment disqualifies Trump from holding office, Michigan’s secretary of state lacks the legal authority to remove him from the ballot. The state’s highest court, controlled by Democrats, let that lower ruling stand, saying in an unsigned order that it was “not persuaded that the questions presented should be reviewed by this Court.”
The decision hands a legal victory for Trump as his lawyers seek to stave off

Harvard's embattled president is facing yet further questions about her academic record, after a statistics expert challenged the data used in a report which helped win her tenure at Stanford.
Claudine Gay, who took over as president in July, has been at the center of a firestorm since the October 7 Hamas attacks. She was seemingly slow to condemn students who justified the terrorist violence, and slow to speak out against antisemitism on campus.
The harsh spotlight has spread to her academic record, with accusations of plagiarism - and on Tuesday, a data scientist challenged her analytical methods. It was then revealed that she had refused to share her data,
