Former President Donald Trump filed a brief with the Supreme Court Wednesday urging justices to delay a decision on whether he has “absolute immunity” for actions he took as president. He has been charged by Special Counsel Jack Smith with plotting to overturn the 2020 election. In his filing, Trump urged the Court to take a deliberate approach and not to acquiesce to the special counsel’s request to bypass a federal appeals court and rule on the immunity question on a quick schedule:
“This case presents a fundamental question at the heart of our democracy,” Pet. 2—whether a President may be criminally prosecuted

An alleged victim of deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein celebrated Wednesday after it was revealed that more than 170 people with ties to the accused sex trafficker will soon be exposed — calling the reveal an early Christmas gift.
Virginia Giuffre — who settled a $12 million lawsuit over allegations Epstein sex-trafficked her to Prince Andrew — appeared to taunt the dozens of associates and ex-employees whose names will be dredged up in a trove of court documents to be unsealed in the coming weeks.
“There’s going to be a lot of nervous ppl over Christmas and New Years, 170 to be exact, who’s on the naughty list?” Giuffre wrote on X.

Tends of thousands of illegals have poured into Texas over the last few days on Joe Biden’s open border invitation so Governor Abbott is sending them to blue ‘sanctuary cities.’
According to Fox News reporter Bill Melugin, Governor Abbott is now flying illegals to sanctuary cities.
The first flight out of El Paso Tuesday afternoon had 120 illegal aliens onboard en route to Chicago’s O’Hare airport.
According to Bill Melugin, the illegals signed voluntary waivers before departing Texas.

Ex-president Donald Trump took to his TruthSocial platform to advertise his $99 digital trading cards that depict him in various heroic settings, just after Colorado judges barred him from running for the GOP primary in the Rocky Mountain state.
In the wake of the decision, Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung said that the campaign had already lodged an appeal to the decision with the US Supreme Court.
Trump first launched the cards in December last year. The first versions depicted him as a superhero. At the time of the launch, it was confirmed that the proceeds from the cards to not go towards his political campaigns.

The story of the 2024 campaign so far is the effort by Democrats and their appointees to use criminal charges and lawsuits to force former President Donald Trump out of the race for a second term in the White House. The name for such an effort is lawfare — that is, "the strategic use of legal proceedings to intimidate or hinder an opponent," to cite one law dictionary.
The latest development, of course, is the Colorado Supreme Court ruling disqualifying Trump from being on the state ballot. All seven members of Colorado's highest court were appointed by Democrats. The case was started by a Washington-based, aggressively anti-Trump activist group called CREW

WASHINGTON, DC – Jack Smith’s appointment as special counsel is unconstitutional and so the Supreme Court must reject his petition against Donald Trump, lawyers representing former Attorney General Ed Meese and two top constitutional scholars in the country argued in a brief filed on Wednesday.
Their amicus (or “friend of the court”) brief argues that Smith lacks authority to represent the United States by asking the Supreme Court to weigh in (called a petition for certiorari) because the office he holds has not been created by Congress and his appointment violates the “Appointments Clause” of the Constitution.

The New York Post cover story today is by Alex Oliveira: “Record 12,600 migrants encountered at border in 24 hours — as backlog for immigration hearings breaks 3 million.” The story reports on our self-created border crisis. When I say “self-created,” I mean created by President Joe Biden.
Why would a president of the United States do what he has done? Even certain well-known Democratic officeholders are unhappy with the results, though they may point the finger of blame elsewhere. Biden’s undoing of our border is an act of willful destruction. In addition to everything else, it seriously jeopardizes our national security. Everyone knows who is to blame.

The House also has now voted to open an impeachment inquiry into his involvement in the questionable financial dealings of his family. He is also hitting some of the lowest approval numbers ever in polling.
But one of the big problems that people have with the idea of him being impeached or stepping aside is the backup: Kamala Harris. She's not 81, but she has her own set of issues, including questions about coherence.
Harris just did an interview with MSNBC’s Lawrence O'Donnell.

President Joe Biden claimed on Wednesday that former President Donald Trump “certainly supported an insurrection” on January 6.
The Colorado Supreme Court ruled Tuesday in a four-to-three opinion that the United States Constitution’s “Insurrection Clause” blocks Trump from appearing on the state’s presidential ballot, preventing voters from deciding who should become the next president.
Trump has not been charged with insurrection, though the Court cited the partisan January 6 Committee’s controversial finding that Trump engaged in insurrection, ignoring the fact the Senate acquitted Trump of the House charges.

The Colorado Supreme Court's decision to ban former President Trump from the state's primary ballot undermines a "bedrock principle" of American democracy, one of the court's Democrat-appointed justices wrote in a fiery dissent. The Colorado Supreme Court yesterday decided that Donald Trump “engaged in an insurrection or rebellion” on or about Jan. 6, 2021. Under the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, he is therefore ineligible for the presidency and would be removed from the Colorado ballot.
A few points to consider:
The Court on its own volition stayed its order until Jan. 4 to give Trump an opportunity to appeal the case to the real Supreme Court, the United States one. If he does so, and he will, and the Supreme Court decides to hear the case, and they will, then the order is further stayed until

In 2015, Virginia Guiffre sued Epstein’s procurer, Ghislaine Maxwell, alleging that Maxwell facilitated Guiffre’s sexual exploitation at Epstein’s hands. The two of them settled in 2017. Since then, there’s been a push to “un-redact” existing documents that identify people “associated” with Jeffrey Epstein

As a vehicle to drive from home to office and back home again, they are reasonably practical. However, nothing beats a vehicle with an internal combustion engine. You do not have to plug it in; just get in and drive it. Five minutes is enough time

As we approach the last year of Joe Biden’s term, it’s an opportune moment to reflect back on January of 2021. Our new President had been inaugurated (though we still don’t know that he was elected). Democrats believed the evil Trump had been vanquished from the body politic forever. We were assured that blue-collar Joe from Scranton was going to return normalcy to Washington -- as if that were a good thing.
Biden was riding high in the polls. His “wingmen” were in control of the executive branch. His allies were in power in Congress and his media lapdogs would guarantee that all news was good news.

A former NFL running back who won a Super Bowl with the New York Giants was arrested in connection with robberies at businesses in the Los Angeles area, according to prosecutors and police.
Derrick Ward was arrested Monday night, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. A case had not been presented to prosecutors for consideration of criminal charges, the office said early Tuesday.
Ward was arrested in connection with robberies at Los Angeles businesses, the Los Angeles Police Department said. Details about the robberies were not immediately available.

Even for most people who have been writing about the lunatic ravings of the Democrats and their flying monkeys in the mainstream media, the 2024 United States presidential election is going to bring us weirdness and hysteria like we've never seen. I've been talking and writing about that since Donald Trump began racing away in the primary polling, and the lefties have been working overtime to prove that I still have some powers of political prognostication.
Joe Biden was already checking out mentally when he announced that he was running for president back in 2019. His infamous "basement campaign" in 2020 had far more to do with

Every year, The Christmas Story is a holiday feature. I enjoy it a lot!
The Chinese restaurant ending is great! Everything about this movie is so politically incorrect, from the old man to Mrs. Parker, to just about everything else. Remember the line about the old man being as good as an “Arab trader” when they are looking for Christmas trees? What about the lamp? The late Roger Ebert reviewed this movie in 2000. I’m not sure why he waited so long but he nailed it. This is Mr. Ebert’s review:
One of the details that ‘A Christmas Story’ gets right is the threat

The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue recently filed a lien against the property of Ashley Biden for $5,000 she has owed in income taxes since 2015. Her father was the vice president at the time.
Ashley lives in Philadelphia with her husband. Liens enable the government to recoup unpaid taxes. The amount would be higher than the original amount because the government adds hefty penalties and interest. Maybe she should move to Maryland. Michael Byrd, the Capitol police officer who murdered Ashli Babbitt on January 6, seems to have no fear of the government coming after him. He has owed the government $56,366 since 2019.

Sean Davis of The Federalist recently appeared on the Jesse Watters show and explained why the left wants to remove the Civil War reconciliation memorial monument from Arlington National Cemetery.
According to Davis, it’s because the left wants to erase history in order to recast the nation’s future.

The all-Democrat appointed Colorado Supreme Court last night barred Donald Trump from the state's 2024 Republican ballot over his role in the January 6 riot - with legal experts warning they have imperiled American democracy.
The 4-3 decision marks the first time in history that Section 3 of the 14th Amendment - which disqualifies insurrectionists from office - has been used to eliminate a presidential candidate.
Justices Richard L. Gabriel, Melissa Hart, Monica Márquez and William W. Hood III said that they had 'little difficulty' in determining that the events of January 6 were an insurrection and that Trump did 'engage' in that alleged rebellion.

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has pledged to withdraw from the Colorado state primary in response to the recent ruling that bars former President Trump from being on the ballot.
As Breitbart News reported on Tuesday, the Colorado Supreme Court ruled “in a 4-3 opinion that the Constitution’s ‘Insurrection Clause’ prohibits former President Donald Trump from appearing on the ballot for the presidency in 2024.”

People who are driven from public office by scandal usually take a timeout to recover from the shame.
Those who later try to return do so with promises they learned their lessons, and some even go on apology tours to ask for a second chance.
Then there’s Andrew Cuomo.
Humble pie is not for him.
He resigned as New York’s governor in August 2021 rather than face certain impeachment and conviction over a slew of issues but never admitted guilt or serious error and soon began plotting a comeback.
When polls showed he would finish a distant third in a three-way race for his former job in 2022, he took a pass.

The backlog of pending cases in the nation’s immigration courts has hit 3 million, as millions of border migrants have been released into the United States to seek asylum in the past three years.
It’s a shocking figure, but just the latest example of the president’s efforts to break the immigration-enforcement system, likely to force a massive amnesty he has long sought.
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas — among others — has accused former President Trump of “gutting” the immigration system, but such claims are little more than projection.

The shocking decision by the Colorado Supreme Court Tuesday that aims to keep former President Donald Trump off the ballot for the GOP presidential primary in the state sent shockwaves across the world as angry critics continue to slam the opinion and argue that real democracies don’t work this way. RedState’s Sister Toldjah brought you reactions earlier from Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, former New York congressman Lee Zeldin, New York Rep. Elise Stefanik, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and more:

"Are you better off than you were four years ago?"
OK, it's not quite four years into this Joe Biden in the White House nightmare, but the sentiment in Ronald Reagan's question from the 1980 presidential campaign is an important one, especially when applied to the global scene.
In my last, "Trump Derangement Syndrome Meltdown of the Week Column," the winner was an Opinion article that posited that a Trump victory next year would throw the world order into chaos.
My first thought was, "Does this guy have internet?"
A quick glance around the international news indicates that chaos is present everywhere during the Biden presidency.

Foreign policy is still subject to domestic politics, no matter how far away the theater of battle is.
That is a pretty reliable rule, and it explains much of what people are finding inexplicable: the insistence that the Biden administration is giving Israel “tough love” in private conversations while publicly supporting the IDF’s mission in Gaza. “Netanyahu’s war bluster exposes growing rift with Biden,” reports The Hill, putting a slightly more dramatic gloss on a version of the same story you can read today in the New York Times, Washington Post, and elsewhere.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s trip to Israel yesterday, reports the Times, “was part of a full-court press

Governor Chris Sununu (R-NH) said Tuesday on CNN’s “The Lead” that former President Donald Trump was using “extreme” language on immigration because he was “nervous his base is going to leave him.”
Sununu said, “Everyone knows Donald Trump’s record. You know, as Republicans, we want that border secure. You know, we want the right fiscal policies in place. We wanted to drain the swamp. He didn’t do any of it. And there’s no, you don’t even have to run ads on that. He just didn’t get it done. ”
He continued, “You know, it’s funny when you he was here over the weekend, and he spent all this
