In a memo to liars, I mean staffers, Washington Post CEO Patty Stonesifer said, “We want everyone to understand that we need 240 acceptances to help restore The Post’s financial health. We have made the decision,” she added, “that if we fall short of this goal, to implement involuntary layoffs.” “The layoffs,” she warned, would offer “significantly less generous benefits than the voluntary package.”

On Friday's Morning Joe, MSNBC host Joe Scarborough unsubtly suggested that the U.S. should cut off funding for Israel until Benjamin Netanyahu was deposed as prime minister:
"Israel needs U.S. funding . . . I'm not so sure that Congress and the President want to approve even more money for Israel until we know that there's actually somebody running Israel that even the Israelis support."
Scarborough obviously detested Netanyahu and, in his tirade, accused him of ignoring the dangers in Gaza, focusing instead on the West Bank.

I wanted a harsher lockdown policy. In retrospect, I was wrong. The damage to children by keeping them out of school longer was greater than the risks.
